Thank you James for a very nice look behind the scenes at one of the countries oldest model train manufactures, Lionel. One thing I noticed that seemed odd to me, Lionel did not have a person in the lobby of their headquarters. Hi James, Thanks for showcasing Lionel here in NC. I live close by, visit them from time to time. Being in NC, I hope you had the time to also visit Spencer, NC. About 45 minutes from Lionel. Excellent model railroad shop there, Little Choo Choo Shop. Also, NC Transportation Museum. Mike
I live in central PA close to where the Weaver factory was. I was there a number of times over the past decades including 6 times in the last several weeks (I saw Lionel reps there on one of the days) as they were preparing to close up for good. Visitors could walk around in the facility, talk to the workers and watch the production. Everyone was so accommodating. The pad printing process that Weaver used produced some really nice designs but the process at the new Lionel plant is so much more intricate and can produce such a variety of color schemes, very impressive. I mention Weaver because the LionScale line are the past Weaver cars. I own 50 or so Weaver cars. I miss that place. All the best to Lionel.
I wish Lionel would bring back their manufacturing of products to the USA 🇺🇸 from Mexico 🇲🇽. As a longtime collector of these iconic trains I NOTICED A MARKED DIFFERENCE IN QUALITY ONCE Lionel moved to Mexico 🇲🇽. Lionel!! Get with it CEO 👨💼 AND BRING NOT ONLY THE JOBS BACK BUT THR QUALITY.

About a few years ago I had a lionel lionchief plus mikado, and it broke 15 minutes into usage after it came out of the box, since it was still under a warranty I sent it back to get fixed cuz I still liked the engine, then when I got it back it went a centimeter forward & stopped then it started smoking in places it wasn't supposed to then I sent it back for a full refund, then I've been running the old postwar diesels & steamers & they've been great these far with eh occasional cleaning & maintenance myself. for the price of one mikado, I bought 3-5 old postwar engines & they seem to be working well, the e-units on these things are a little problematic tho.
Mr. Hitchcock, thank you for creating terrific products. Please, work on quality control. Stop using inferior parts, use the older reliable parts. Especially on the couplers. Get rid of the button tabs. The trains come apart causing accidents, resulting in other broken cars. They also short out on the center rail. Thank you
I was at the mall a few weeks ago. I never been into O scale that much and after seeing the prices now I know why. Hopefully you walked the mall James. There alot to see. And not alot of malls have a beef jerky store.

Hi I am also in the UK, and my first experience of Lionel trains was way back in 2012, with a Christmas locomotive set, primerly as a tree set. But even though this was a "Cheaper" set I then researched further, watched a few videos on UA-cam, Eric's Trains, I was instantly hooked, researched further for discounts etc. And eventuality found Trainworld.my layout is not very large compared to those shown on various websites in the USA where they have huge space's. I have now over Twelve locomotives that are Lionel Legacy command, although I can only run two at any one time, I rotate them every so often. But get a lot of pleasure out of the diorama side, if you are into model trains, then these are top notch, but very very expensive. So, a good question to have asked James would be: are kids putting down their tablets and cell phones and getting back into model trains?
