Thank you for actually NARRATING your video. Way too many 3DS Max tutors like to make silent videos, which I find quite unhelpful. (Maya tutors for some reason do this, but far less often.)
Hi and thank you! maybe the clearest and also one of the best tutorials I've found on the internet! it helps me a lot on how to create terrain for revit! cheers!
Just Subscribed! I found this video at the right moment. I used try blender GIS but the map did not come to the right scale. I love that we can make this to scale! Thank you. Keep up the great videos.
Awesome! I use to do this the hard way... Downloading multiple full Sentinel-2 satellite imagery granules (about 11k by 11k pixels each), and ASTER v3 digital elevation maps from the USGS... stitching them together in QGIS (because of course NASA and European Space Agency have to use different projections), export each as tiff, touch them up in photoshop, then finally bring into 3ds Max!
Good tutorial, but surely if your scene is 25km by 25km the texture map will be very pixelated if you want to render a close up. eg if you wanted to put a car on a road or something. Well unless the texture map has insanely high resolution.
Awesome tuts !!! And very usefull webpage from Poland as I'm located in South America, Lidar data is complicated to find ! I only wonder how do you scale your modele to respect the reality of terrain ? Especially for height levels .... In archviz we are forced to have pretty precise level of details on height, especially if you work on large condo with 200 houses.
That's fantastic and I quote @Lilli Horn, please let us see on how to put those markers and how to animate that yellow path, that would be great..and I would be grateful :D . Anyway thnx for your wonderful job and clear explanations, it is not so common!
Anxious to hear the answer to this as well. Those height/ortho images Heightmap.skydark exports seem to be really small not capturing enough of the terrain detail.
Another nice question (i Guess): and if I need to tesselate a terrain, using 15 km tiles, How could I be sure to get perfect adiacent seamless heightmap squares? Thnx in advance to whom is going to answer.
"2013 is long gone..." Ha ha, try 1996, ya whipper snapper. I'll give up the compact material editor when you can pry it from my cold, dead hands! (Also, great video.) (Also also, turn down that music and get off my lawn!)
Wonderfull! Just Subscribed! I found this video at the right moment. The question arises, is there any way to make a map of a city using displacement and heightmap.skydark? Would you kindly have some advice?

Yes! Please make a tutorial on how you put those markers in the landscape.
Great video! I think I might have missed the deadline for saying I’d love to learn how to make additions to the map but great none the less!!

i tried to export height map multiple times for different loctions it just give me blank while pictures . imma jump off the mountain now 😭
la plataforma sigue sirviendo? no me cargan los botones para generar los PNG's
在中国地区,不能用了。网页显示是空白,mapbox也不能注册成功。真是个麻烦的事情。
hi from turkey/samsun good work
Thanks, any chance to get higher dimension/resolution/bit-depth for export skydark map?
Anxious to hear the answer to this as well. Those height/ortho images Heightmap.skydark exports seem to be really small not capturing enough of the terrain detail.
@@DanielMartinek I'm on the same issue but anyway, it helps a lot ! I think I must keep on working with topo splines to complete the scheme.
My dear teacher, I cannot open the link in the installer in the video description
this man is good
But how to reduce the distance.17 km is too wide an area.
Another nice question (i Guess): and if I need to tesselate a terrain, using 15 km tiles, How could I be sure to get perfect adiacent seamless heightmap squares? Thnx in advance to whom is going to answer.
Skyscraper architecture rendering you remove video free webinar??
Hello, from Uzbekistan
hi,
can i get higher resolution then 1080px ?
The heightmap website is blank and I can't see anything there. Does anyone know why that is happening?
Possibly your internet provider might be blocking it.
thanks! that"s fantastic!
Thank you for sharing.
You are welcome :)
Good job!
Hi , how much it costs your course, thanks
Wonderful tutorial ! Just a question : the scale of the mountains is very small (250cmx250cm). What's happening if enlarge it to 25kmx25km ?
It will still work :)
Hello, I am trying to create a terrain map that around 1k or 500m range , is it possible to make that?if yes how ?, thanks in advance
Even I tried for 1km range, but skylark doesn't allow to get height map and also not working for 25km range even
Heightmap cannot be imported to material editor 😭
I´ve got a problem. The Heightmap looks completely dark. What could be wrong??
If it happens to someone, skip the beta version of the web page
how can I uninstall vray 5 to install vray 6?
Is there any way to use enscape plugin for 3ds max?
You can use 3ds Max nad Enscape Standalone
Hi! Great tutorial but the website doesn't work...
Just checked must be something on your side, as it works fine.
My heightmap becomes extremely pixelated, why?
hightmap png is black
It sounds like the website is doing something strange.
@@VizAcademyUK yes isee .. i have downloaded the zipped file from github and its work .. thanks ❤
Software name please?
3ds Max
To be honest, I still ultimately prefer the compact material editor. lol
Well nobody is perfect :)
@@VizAcademyUK I mean, I've dabbled with the slate editor, but I just hate node based stuff.
well done :)
Super
Awesome video! But oh, man. I got scolded for using compact. :D
Glad that you are now awake :D
all workеd
It really helped me out for my new wood working prototype of mountain terrain. So I really appreciate that. ua-cam.com/video/5vYDJv5HJUM/v-deo.html

Is that the CitySkyline generator format?
Why is my video not displayed on the search page? What is a good way?🥲
