I’m still so surprised that none of the children or grandchildren want any of the beautiful heirlooms, paintings, photos or antiques left behind! Nothing is made with this quality anymore. Amazing find!
What a beautiful Home! Everything looks so cozy and comfortable. I could just move in and apart from tidying up the mess and repairing a few things I would leave everything just like it is. The family had a very good taste!
I've never seen what an entire butlers quarters looked like. This was amazing. I have a hard time understanding why people don't disperse someone's belongings once they pass. It's like we lose a little bit of history every time things like these are thrown away.
Because it’s too far away out there in the country. Only beggars conquer abandoned homes for themselves. Not rich and middle class people. Rich and middle class people prefer to pay bills instead of live rent and mortgage free.
The saddest part in this video was seeing the bed where that man most likely passed away. Once I saw that, I really became quite sad and actually started to get choked up with a few tears. Crazy, I know because I didn't even know who this man was. I'm certain he lived an interesting life with lots of history inside the walls of the large home. It seems he was a man of many things, I'm quite sure of that. I offer mycondolences & respect for him and his wife who passed away including their extended family wherever they might be. Amazing house I am always shocked when i see these videos featuring these great abandoned houses that have the majority of items left behind. The saddest part are all the wonderful family pictures no one seemed to bother to retrieve from the huse. It is so very sad.
This family obviously has had money for generations and probably is just taking their time dealing with this…my family did with our family farm. It was difficult to go through all of the memories, decide who wanted what, whether to repair the farmhouse and keep for family gatherings, rent it out or sell, we held onto it for a while before finally selling several years after my grandparents died….it isn’t always so simple…..
Thanks for answering my other question. I have another one, I was thinking maybe I could try my hand at exploring the abandoned, I was wondering if maybe you could make a “tutorial” video on how you do this type of stuff, or you could leave tips here. Thanks!
You're very lucky to have that option. Where I live, in the SF Bay Area, abandoned places are a rarity. This is mainly due to the astronomically high monetary value of the real estate here and the high demand for housing.
Aren't you afraid of making and posting a video of yourself trespassing on private property? It's interesting for your viewers to see inside these homes, but its risky for you if they decide to file charges.
This video made me so sad. Also, it taught me to gather memories and not material things. Also, to love and live in the present to the fullest. I am sad why none of his kids preferred to stay here instead of abandoning this place. Also please tell me, can't the homeless people of your country live there??
The sad reality of the situation is that the cost of the needed repairs combined with the maintenance/upkeep costs and having to pay the property taxes would be astronomical and likely prohibitive for family members to be able to afford. And often family disputes over the fate or distribution of the estate ends up delaying or preventing the sale of the estate, subsequently leading to deterioron and decay

It’s sad to see old places like this just rot to the ground. Looking at the old perfume bottles as well as other thingsI noticed, I would guess an older woman passed away there as well. Although it’s hard to believe anyone used that kitchen even 20 yrs ago.
hmmmm i have a feeling this is not as "abandoned" as you think...running water? as clean as it is, and someone pays for that electricity...breaking and entering anyone?
I highly doubt anybody lives in this house. However, I believe they keep the water and electricity running so that they can stop by and check on it from time to time. Perhaps I feel more comfortable with just leaving it as it is when they come visit and wonder about and reflect on the memories. I would definitely have to say that the internet filming should much respect to this old man the things left behind as most people with steel and trash the inside of it.
@@thespearodiver i get your point, however i never said anyone lived there. Respectful or not, the owner or owners only have the right to be inside the property. Laws are laws.
this only show that life is too short, and things we own once upon a time, that was the result of our work, making our life convenient and better , will be left everything behind. imagine having a house like that, being the main focus of your days. and then, you cant even roam because of your illness, and then dying alone
I’ve always wondered why you never seem to take anything. I guess it makes sense as it may be disrespectful or something, but if the place is truly abandoned, I’d think the deceased owners would prefer someone take it and make use of it rather than it rotting. Maybe I’m looking at it wrong, or maybe you just have no interest in keeping anything. Anyways, keep up the good work!
I would absolutely love to! However, I find it sort of unethical to take something of value. Here and there ill take something small with no value, such as a hat.
Generally speaking, I don't believe in taking things from abandoned places. However I don't have a problem with taking items that are facing inevitable decay and/or destruction. In this case you're not "taking" things, you're "rescuing" them.
This house is fairly clean. No dust, no cobwebs, someone has to be cleaning it. The bank accounts of Dr and his wife would have been closed after their death, that means the family must be paying the taxes and utilities. It makes no sense.
The majority of the dust that you find inside of a house consists of dead human skin cells shed by the inhabitants of the home. If no one is residing in the home the dust will be minimal (in theory).
Such a waste leaving all that to rot. One has to wonder who pays the power bill. I really hops it gets auctioned off and bought by someone who can use it before it gets trashed by vandals
Everyone should prepare for ones death in a dignified way... So atleast his children or grandchildren should donate or take with them their loved ones memories.. Or else give away in charity... So many opitions
