- This is a compilation of the Japanese garden DIY projects we have done so far.
We aimed to revitalize the Japanese garden by preventing weeds in the garden, which would have become covered with weeds if left alone.
To make the garden beautiful and hassle-free, we laid weed prevention sheets and cobble gravel to finish it.
We spent a lot of time removing tree roots and stumps that appeared in large quantities.
We focused on making it less of a hassle in the future rather than a full-fledged Japanese garden.

Making the garden with the kids helping out is priceless! The whole family will learn bonding when young and will cherish these times when they grow old themselves! Good parenting which we all admire and adore!

I've really enjoyed watching this. I find pulling weeds in my own Japanese garden most satisfying. I get them when they're small still though. The maintenance is easier with a good geo-textile under the gravel. Well done. Back-breaking work, but the structure and plants in your garden were lovely to start with. Fabulous result!!

its good but you guys over power the white gables , its should at least left for the green grass or moss , for me your garden more on white beach resorts ...just saying but its really in good potential if you put more on design planning first ,,,I love the stones .lanterns though

抜根経験ありますが、一苦労でした。😅
お金は掛かってしまいますが、道具助けてもらうと自分の身体も楽だし時間も短時間になりますよね。
家の中のリフォームもはじまりましたが、腰を痛めない様に気をつけて下さい。

抜根はスコップ1本でやろうと思ったらめちゃめちゃ苦労しますね笑。
ホント腰がやられがちなんで気をつけます！

枯れた木の根っこをバッコーンって抜くと気持ちいい。
C’est émouvant de voir toute cette vie souterraine chamboulée et détruite, tout un écosystème bien installé,le vivant se nourrissant du mort, rendant le sol vivant. Tout n’était pas « mauvaise herbe » mais n’entrait pas juste dans le projet. L’éradication d’un jardin « naturel et vivant » vers quelque chose de bien plus structuré ou le minéral devient le maître. Une autre vision , sur du plastique , mais plus contemplative. Espérons que gravier blanc se fera moins remarquer au fil du temps et se heurtera moins aux vénérables roches 😊

mmm, that gravel is too big and too white. Would be better natural stone colors or tree bark mulch. But i see the other problem, that gravel which is not on a flat place will slide away from there. Strong rain it will wash out. In some not flat place put some moss or plant some small creeping plant, that will cover the ground and wont let to grow weeds
草の生えにくい鬼真砂とぃぅ手もありましたね、玉砂利の代わりに。(鬼真砂= 5ｍｍ位の砂)…… 日本の庭は裏山の縮図で、５０年先、５０ｋ上空に思いや祈りを向ける触媒で、森羅万象と共に生きる意味のワビサビが最高とされます。…… 数年後に白い砂利に苔が付き出した時の処理が難しい。黒味の苔やカビが生えたら苦しい。
Just curious, you placed a plastic sheet above the soil. When it rains, will water stay and won’t sink into the earth? Will it cause flood in your garden?
頭が下ります。亡くなった義父に代わって庭の手入れを始めましたが抜根は大変、今では心が折れてしまって、ギリギリで切った後は土に隠れるまで削り下げています。
これからも試行錯誤の連続だと思いますが頑張って下さい。
The white rocks/gravel will get dirty/dark in no time. Grey would have been a better option.
白い砂利を水に見立てているのです。日本に昔からある庭造りの表現です。白い砂利は定期的に洗います。

防草シートと玉砂利を使わなきで庭づくりした方がいいです。
これは共感します。我が家も築150年の700坪の古民家を相続しました。雑草の対策が毎回行く度のルーティンです。頑張ってください(^_^)/

草取りでは、、、
何時間も同じ体制(しゃがむ)での草取りでは、腹圧が高まって、脱肛(痔)になる事もあるので、ご注意下さい。
立ち上がった時に、木の枝に頭部を強打して怪我をする場合もあるので、ヘルメットの装着をお勧めします。
庭造りは疲労困憊との戦いですが、何十年後にも残る財産(想い出)になるので、楽しみながら頑張ってくださいね。

LOG家の皆さんは、いつもおしゃれな普段着で、作業していますね。汚れを厭わず作業するのを、感心しています。でも奥様が、汚れを恐れずに作業されているのを見て、洗濯が大変だなと思ってしまいました。庭仕事やDIYをする時に、作業着を着用するのはどうでしょう？お子様たちは、安いダサいジャージをそれ用に用意しては？着替えることで、そのモードに、スイッチがはいるし、何より、安全で汚れを気にしなくて、洗濯も別にできて楽かなと思います。
