Our world is filled with toxins. We eat them, breathe them, and even make them inside our bodies. But do we need a special detox program to right these wrongs? Detox diets and supplements promise big rewards for minimal effort. These claims are big and attractive, but ping that little voice inside your head that says, “This sounds too good to be true.” The good news is that you are designed to detox because of your internal detox machine (aka your liver).
I am often asked what I eat in a day. In this video, I share what I ate yesterday and how you can use those same foods to reach your health and weight loss goals.
    Pique Tea Matcha Smoothie:
    1 packet Pique Tea Matcha
    8oz. Almond Milk
    3/4 cup Raspberries
    1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
    1 Tbsp Almond Butter
    1 handful Spinach
    1/8 - 1/4 tsp Stevia
    Salad with Chicken:
    3 cups Mixed Greens
    1/2 Avocado
    2 Tbsp Feta Cheese
    1/2 small Apple
    1 Tbsp Walnuts
    1 Tbsp Sunflower Seeds
    1 Tbsp Pumpkin Seeds
    3 oz. Chicken
    Salad Dressing:
    2 Tbsp Olive Oil
    2 tsp Balsamic Vinegar
    2 tsp Dijon Mustard
    Slow-Cooker Salmon:
Line a crock pot with parchment paper. Lay down lemon slices followed by 2 salmon filets seasoned with salt and pepper, additional lemon slices, and dill. Pour in 1 cup of vegetable broth and additional lemon juice, and cook on low for 2 hours.
    Roasted Broccoli:
Combine a bag of frozen broccoli with 1 Tbsp of avocado oil, a clove of minced garlic, and 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes at 450 degrees F. Broil for 6 additional minutes.

Wow, what a coincidence. I woke up this morning to a video talking about the importance of regular detoxing by using only vegan foods for 21 days. I kept wondering if that was truly the only way to detox and then this video appeared in my inbox. I saw it as an answer to prayer. Thanks so much Dr. Becky.

I also have meds that must be taken with food in AM. I have found that drinking a small protein shake with those meds works perfectly. Thank you for sharing what your maintenance calories look like.
I am often told that I do not eat enough, when I have shared what I eat in Facebook groups.
I'm 5'2" 56YO with not nearly enough muscle mass (I need to work on that), have a sedentary job, walk a fair amount. have plenty of excess fat and identified so well with Keith's weight loss resistance frustrations.
After letting those comments mess with my head and trying to reverse diet, I have learned:
I can lose at 1100 calories.
    I maintain at 1200-1300
    I slowly at 1400
(Following your 0123 protocol, low carb, adequate protein, whole food)
The last thing I want to do is further damage my metabolism by eating too little.
Based on your 1400ish calories....you being taller than me (I think) and at maintenance with a healthy metabolism, it sounds like 1100 may not be too low.

I'm only half successful after 2 + years KETO and fasting. But I started in deadly metabolic syndrome with insulin for T2 diabetes.. Immediatly A1C, all labs much improved, medications are 1/2, but no weight loss, belly as big as ever. And jumped in with Ken Berry " eat all you want/ carnivoreish". Wish I'd found Dr Becky and Dr Westmore first. I see that I'm eating too much protien and maybe too much milk products, both can cause liver to put too much glucose and insulin. into the system. I've developed 3 new issues in the last 6 months, being 6 AM suger crashes in the 40s, histamine hives, and Hashinotos. I need to start with rhe histamine issues, do 30 days of carnivore to start histamine testing. Then back to 0123, adding veggies slowly to find histamine responses = I hope it's not everything I love about KETO.
I have a long way to go, already 76. Depressed.
