@@alanruechel2240 first ice we get them in 8” of water it’s pretty neat I find they tend to go deeper when it gets cold like it is though I’ll find them all the way in 30’ of water
Be careful around a hole that's releasing water. If it's due to a spring, the rising water is going to be warmer than the surrounding pond/lake water and that will result in thinner ice.
@ ya rots the ice out like a upside down funnel I grew up on a lake and have been swimming a few times and have recovered a few vehicles off bottom before too definitely have to know what your looking at!
