I owned several acres years ago & it was early fall & bow season was open for deer... I was on my property (which was posted no hunting) and I heard a rifle shot... Within a minute a large buck came crashing through the brush & splashed in my creek & collapsed.. I hid myself behind a big oak & listened.. Shortly I saw a neighbor sneaking along the creek , but he didnt see the deer... I was 500 yards from my house & watched him sneak along the creek which also ran across his property.. He went in his house & I called the game warden. He came out & I detailed what I saw... He went right to my neighbor & went inside.. From my 2nd story window I saw guns , deer mounts , and white packages of what I assumed was meat..(it was deer meat) being loaded into a police cruiser. The game warden took the large buck in my creek & told me he would be in touch.. The game warden asked me to come testify & I agreed.. When my neighbor realized I had seen him , he confessed to killing the deer on my property ... He spent 30 days in jail , was banned from hunting & his guns were confiscated.. When he got out of jail , he poisoned my dog & sugared my gas tanks , broke into my shed & more. I called the police , but without proof , they could do nothing.. My neighbor was a nuicance to everyone. Summer came around & two neighbor girls were out walking when my neighbor came out to the road with nothing but a towel around him & a shotgun . He ask the 15 & 16 yr old if they wanted to fool around & they refused him. He fired the shotgun from his hip & threatened the girls . They ran to my house scared , obviously , and I called their father & the police... The father got there in less than a minute , asked the girls a couple questions & promply walked to the neighbors house , pulled him outside & beat him unconcious. The police came & called an ambulance.. Later that day he was released & went to jail.. Once again , I was called to testify as were the girls... My cousin was a deputy in my county & he also testified as to the numerous calls he answered because of my neighbor... He was found guilty & sentenced to 10 yrs in prison... About a year after he was sentenced , I noticed a brush fire on my neighbors property. No one had mowed or cleaned the yard . The fire caught the house on fire & it burned to the ground... He was released after 5 years & I saw him walking down the road near my house.. He gave me the middle finger , I got out & gave him a proper ass whippin for all he had done .. He called the police & they came to my door.. As he had done to me several times , I denied any involvment .. No witnesses . And the cops really didnt care tbh.. Another year goes by & about 5 miles away , my neighbor ( He put a trailer on his property since the house was burned to the ground) decided to break into a gas station .. The owner (a good friend of mine) had security & when the silent alarm went off at his home , he drove the 1/4 mile to his gas station , and caught this clown at his now destroyed safe , stuffing his pockets.. He recognized him & instead of shooting him , beat him senseless... This time he got a mandatory 15 yrs in prison.. This boy was 18 y/o when he poached the deer on my land & 28 when he got 15 yrs .. He got out , now a middle aged man , & had spent 20 yrs in prison.. He came to my door & apologized for all he had done .. I told him that I had long ago forgiven him , but to never step on my land again..... In a neighboring county , he robbed another gas station at gun point .. The owner recognized him & told him to leave . (He was wearing a ski mask) He refused so the owner told him the money was in a safe & to come around the counter & he would give him the combination... As he made his way around the end of the counter , the owner pulled a 9mm & shot him dead .. True story ... As for poachers , its the kind of people who respect absolutely nothing . They would rather cheat than play fair .
Thank you for not leaving the buck there to suffer to death. I enjoyed the rest of the video. In Montana, I used to find a lot of the really old beer cans. They had tops that completely came off so it was like drinking from a glass The tin and writing were usually in good condition but most were too smashed to sell as antiques. I went on a mushroom hunting class with a fairly well known mycologist. He pointed me toward some oyster mushrooms growing on what I"m almost certain was an evergreen tree. I ate them with a bunch of cooked stinging nettles, one of the best meals I've had. They did have a mild pine smell and taste which I liked. I can't sear they were on an evergreen, and I don't know if the varieties in Kansas are different, but I didn't get sick
Silas you did the most ethical thing any true hunter would have done. You seen that the deer was clearly suffering and you reported it to the game warden so that they could make it not suffer anymore. Good on you buddy
Thanks for taking us along on your adventure. I'm amazed how green things are there if this was filmed recently. Here in Saskatchewan we have 4 foot of snow in the bushes and it is -27C. Won't be that green here till the end of May!
Fun how you wander through the woods and totally respect the environment. It was hard to see that deer suffer but you did the right thing. Thanks for your videos.
I have to admit, I love the way you just wander in the woods! That's the same way I used to explore, random, just whatever calls you. Where I live is a very old historic area. One section of woods, part of a colonial estate, still has some surviving old growth oaks, that I'd bet predate the USA! Unfortunately most are pretty tore up, rot, lightning strikes disease all taken their toll. Great to even be able to show the stumps to my kid, they are SO gigantic! You'd love a walk in my woods, I know you would. Can't walk like that myself anymore, so I really enjoy your walks!
I think that can collecting could make an interesting video, or at least incorporate it into one. I always pick up cans when I go on walks. I've collected hundreds over the years.
Thank you for your nice video in nature. It's hard to see suffering animals like this in nature, especially when it's caused by humans. Well, with your collected collections of bones and skeletons, maybe you can build a dino. And sad to see that the water has receded so far. Do you think it will ever come back? A lot is changing in nature. Here too. The climate is changing a lot. Unfortunately not for the better. But it is what it is. Thanks again for your video, and I look forward to the next one. 🌳🦌🌊🍄🙂👍
That was a magnificent buck. Too bad people do such things, hopefully, karma finds the guilty one. I'm a hunter and this is something I frown upon. All in all, still an enjoyable walk in the woods, thanks for bringing us along.
In a couple of my very early videos on the other channel there's a couple shots of it in the background before it went down. 2019 it flooded way out of the banks and has gone down rapidly every year since.
Hey, I’m glad you filmed that buck. I mean you didn’t film it for an hour. So it’s real life. Sorry you didn’t get the antlers. I’m the same way. I like to pick up bones and antlers.
A group of turkeys is called a rafter or a flock. Group of drunk men in a pickup truck shooting things are called rednecks (sorry to rednecks that's how the world sees it)
I haven't heard anything back from the game warden like I had hoped. I'm sure they're always busy and satisfying my curiosity isn't high on their priority list
Mine is a 119. I was looking them up and prices have come down a lot since I bought mine. They're only $75 now. I may buy another just to keep in the truck.
I was able to see the birds. There were so many in front of the tree line that it looked like a snowy screen on an old tube T.V. Yes I just dated myself.
Silas, your lucky it wasn't acting and crying like one I shot in the spine one time.. They cry like a human baby and it's the weirdest thing that will ever happen to you!!
Gaggle of geese, murder of crows, pack of dogs, swarm of insects (or colony depending on flying), school of fish, flock of flamingoes (other birds), pod of orcas, and pride of lions. Hahaha that first set of fungi you found seems coprinoid in nature. It's hard to identify old crusty mushrooms though. That skull you found seems raccoon based on size and jaw pattern. The hip bone and vertebrae seem like fox or coyote. Good luck finding morels, and don't mistake a verpa for one! Deadly mistake.
Good job Silas. You did the right thing....and may have been in danger yourself. You may have scared off the Poachers...or they were waiting for dark to retrieve the deer. No tellijng what those kind of people will do if confronted. Hope you carry a little more than that cool Buck knife with you on these adventures...
I’ve been waiting for this super-blooper! Time for tonight’s MAMFS. Edit: I love that idea with picking up cans! I do the same thing here, but our cans have deposits, so i can make tons of cash on my loads.
Remember to treat nature with respect so that it will be there for future generations!
Totally agree with you!
Absolutely stand with you on this topic Silas!😊

Silas your More Adventures Made from Scratch are just as entertaining as your Adventures Made from Scratch , you’ve got the knack sir. Thank you !
Great adventure Silas and you have a big heart!❤
I'm tender hearted also Silas. I wouldn't want it to see it suffer either
Thanks for taking me along with you on this adventure

A Murder of Crows!
Right, a Gaggle is geese
Smoking crack is a flock of geese flying 😂😂😂
Yes @@lesjones5684
a gaggle is geese, a murder is crows
Silas you did the most ethical thing any true hunter would have done. You seen that the deer was clearly suffering and you reported it to the game warden so that they could make it not suffer anymore. Good on you buddy
I think you handled the situation and video content with respect and also to the law and the humanity of the deer.
A murder of crows. Great adventure. Good old Cheney reservoir.
Awesome adventure. That does suck to kill such good food go to waste
Thanks for taking us along on your adventure. I'm amazed how green things are there if this was filmed recently. Here in Saskatchewan we have 4 foot of snow in the bushes and it is -27C. Won't be that green here till the end of May!
You're absolutely correct in what you did.
Wow that's awesome, thanks for showing the crazy stuff, you are cool 😎
A group of crows is called a "murder".
You are a good man. It was very nice thinking about suffering of the deer and ending it as quickly as possible. I respect you. Thank you.
This is a side of you that's pretty Kool, love the video ,thanks again.
Fun how you wander through the woods and totally respect the environment. It was hard to see that deer suffer but you did the right thing. Thanks for your videos.
The woods is my second home. I wouldn't toss trash all over my living room, so I try to act the same out there.
I have to admit, I love the way you just wander in the woods! That's the same way I used to explore, random, just whatever calls you. Where I live is a very old historic area. GOD Bless👍🙏
GOOD JOB!
your a good human Silas thanks for sharing
you're
You done the right thing to let tho let the Wardens know about the deer.
Hey Silas great video thanks for sharing
Silas, I agree with you, take what you need, and leave something for tomorrow, respect nature
You definitely did the right thing. The game warden can also use your video if needed. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
In the crow world,a bunch of crows are called a murder.
Thank you for the video! It brought memorable moments I had with my parents.
Love this type of video Silas
that was an amazing video Silas, very interesting 👍
Excellent silas cheers 🥂 😊
Nope. Not a gaggle of crows. A group of crows is actually called a murder of crows! Cool, yes?
That's right, a gaggle is a group of turkeys or geese
Flock of turkeys geese as well cmon
I think that can collecting could make an interesting video, or at least incorporate it into one. I always pick up cans when I go on walks. I've collected hundreds over the years.
well that was fun .... thanks it's all good
You are an expert drone operator.
Nice video... very peaceful
Me and my dad picked up cans too after he picked me up from school for extra money
Wow that's cool as hell yeah man ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for your nice video in nature.
🌳🦌🌊🍄🙂👍
Other reservoirs in the area have, so hopefully this one will too.
Thank you sir for the walk in the woods before bed I am at peace in the woods
That was a magnificent buck. Too bad people do such things, hopefully, karma finds the guilty one. I'm a hunter and this is something I frown upon. All in all, still an enjoyable walk in the woods, thanks for bringing us along.
Hellow Silas good luck buddy
It takes around 25 or 30 cans to make a pound
It would have been nice to have seen that lake when it was full !
You did right brother God bless you
Oyster mushrooms can be eaten off of a Willow tree.
Crazy enough a flock of crows is actually called a murder !!!
I'm old enough to remember finding tin soda cans and glass pop bottles in the woods.
I need to come up with an idea for the bottles besides just tossing them in the trash. There are tons of them out there since they don't rust away
Group of crows are called a murder.
Some people are the worst…thieves and poachers suck
A group of turkeys is called a rafter or a flock. Group of drunk men in a pickup truck shooting things are called rednecks (sorry to rednecks that's how the world sees it)
Hello There My Good Little Bro Silas Of Adventures Made From Scratch
Thanks for taking us along. Unfortunately there’s bad everywhere it would be nice if they were to find how shot that buck. Just a waste of
I haven't heard anything back from the game warden like I had hoped. I'm sure they're always busy and satisfying my curiosity isn't high on their priority list
Silas you done well good call cheers from 🇨🇦
I cant stand to see a critter in pain,,,,,, hope it got help...
Nicely done
Totally agree with you; those who do the illegal should pay for the damage - so very sad. The meat goes to waste that is a real tragedy
You're a good man!
Though by the title you found somebody's moonshine still or something !
For years I carried a 112 buck and I had the smaller 110 also but they just never locked well in place. And I didn't want to cut my finger off
Mine is a 119. I was looking them up and prices have come down a lot since I bought mine. They're only $75 now. I may buy another just to keep in the truck.
Edger Allen Poe said a murder of crows is what a group is named
Like you commets. Totally agree!
Have you thought about putting a ball on your wheel lift so so you can pull your goose neck when you do auctions?
I am in Michigan but my Daughter lives in Wichita.
Sad how low the lake is
I was able to see the birds. There were so many in front of the tree line that it looked like a snowy screen on an old tube T.V. Yes I just dated myself.
good video, interesting
Game wardens do a great job, 5 star for sure. 😊
A group of geese is a gaggle, crows is a murder
Silas, your lucky it wasn't acting and crying like one I shot in the spine one time.. They cry like a human baby and it's the weirdest thing that will ever happen to you!!
Yes Sir!!!
I am with you all you did was the right thing bine there and did the same thing 👍
o good my other favorite channel thats a big buck great video
I’m a deer hunter and I think is really bad to see that
Another crazy fact spray sunscreen removed black permanent marker.

A wiff of skunks
@jamesfield6568 XD Surfeit

No tellijng what those kind of people will do if confronted. Hope you carry a little more than that cool Buck knife with you on these adventures...
I'm guessing they either couldn't find the buck, or they thought it was down and were planning on coming back at night.
Sometimes I think its people who are very poor and need food, others are just greedy. I quit hunting after being in the army
This is redundant 😂😂
You are joking with us right 😅😅😅
watched all the way till the deer. too sad for me i feed them in my backyard
Gaggle of geese a murder of crows
Do you fill the cans with water 💦 I am 😅😅
Cheney Reservoir?
You're taking a big chance by walking in the woods with a brown shirt on, especially if it's deer season!
It wasn't deer season is the thing. It didn't start for another week. Someone tried to jump the gun on this buck.
Those little skulls will sell, check your legalities.
You only leave footprints
I wonder what a metal detector would bring to light....
I plan to take my metal detector out on some adventures this spring
Good afternoon I was wondering how do you cook those mushrooms and what do they taste like I'm very interested
They taste similar to other mushrooms, but a better flavor in my opinion. I just cook them in butter usually. They go great with a burger or steak.
a murder of crows
I agree with you on govt overreach. I hope they find the poacher and prosecute. I don't like when people don't follow the rules of hunting.
I’ve been waiting for this super-blooper! Time for tonight’s MAMFS.
Edit: I love that idea with picking up cans! I do the same thing here, but our cans have deposits, so i can make tons of cash on my loads.
What is the name of that lake
Might be Chronic Wasting Disease, be careful
That’s what it looked like to me . I thought it looked emaciated .
It was hard to see on this video but in person it was a big and healthy buck. Game warden confirmed it was a spine shot from a rifle.
A gaggle of geese.
Do you live in a holler 😅
Franklin gulls
I love your video
