Julie….I agree with you about the wheelchair. They along with commodes, walkers etc. should be donated to those in need…..nursing homes, senior centers etc. etc. Just my humble opinion.

The problem is that nursing homes and other agencies can not accept used equipment because of germs, etc.
I have donated many walkers and wheelchairs to agencies who sanitize and deliver the equipment to those in need. Some even deliver to children and adults in need in other countries who would have no access to equipment otherwise. I’ve never dealt with nursing homes directly because I’m donating children’s equipment but if people will do research in their area they will find places to take used items. Especially wheelchairs for kids.

Yes! I agree they should be free! But I worked at a nursing facility and we could not accept any used products not even those in boxes not used. They have to come from a medical facility due to liability concerns as well as insurance. Patients un Nursing homes have Medicaid or Medicare that cover costs for those items. I do; however, suggest to anyone wanting to donate such items to check with local homeless shelters, churches or just let people know you have those items to give away. 💖
That file cabinet you can put your seeds for your planting you can store seeds in their packets 🌱

The drawer could be placed in the bottom of an armoire to organize belts and scarves into; or used in the bottom of a hutch to organize table napkins, napkin rings or candles and candle holders. (5:37)
I also see things for the garden …tools and some boxes to plant like 🌿 herbs
Julie, I think your first item is a wine coaster. I can't tell the size from the monitor but if a bottle fits then that is what it is. I have bought them as gifts for friends who have bars in their homes. Most people don't know what they are; even people with bars.

The glass/crystal piece that you bought thinking is an ashtray is actual a Mikasa piece from a set that comes with a wine bottle topper. It's to place a wine bottle in on your dining table. I have a few but I too use them for other things.
It is probably a wine bottle coaster for use on the table to keep wine drips from staining a tablecloth.

@@ThrilledThrifter It's a nice piece, and I bought it to use with pillar candles too. Although I paid way more at the thrift store here in Canada. I go to Value Village and they're way overpriced.
The Kleenex box made me think dryer sheets would be good under that box too.

I have a wooden Kleenex box on top of my dryer for my dryer sheets. I love it. ❤
I would use that drawer as a remote control holder on the coffee table or perhaps in the entryway for keys and such, or maybe as a charging station. Would also be great for a poker table!

Great video! I think that wooden "spikey rolling pin looking thing" was a foot massager. lol The two rubber rings on either end would grip on the floor and allow a person to roll their foot back and forth.

The black 3 drawer organizer might fit packets of seeds. You could have a drawer fo4 flowers, one for herbs and vegetables.

I agree with you about donating healthcare equipment. I have purchased 2 walkers, a shower chair and a bed tray from garage sales.
I have purchased "extra" four-footed canes and walkers from thrift stores to have handy in my car, by the front and back doors of my house, and to have on hand just in case someone needs one in a pinch!... .never a bad idea to have an extra one handy.....and, yes, they could/should be donated. Like to veterans, the less privileged, etc.
That glass ashtray is from Mikasa. And it was being sold as an ashtray as well as a tray for wine so that the wine doesn’t stain your table. Circa around 2000.

You could use random drawers to store things under beds. For example, wrap fabric stash into storage bags and stack into an empty drawer(s), and then, push under a bed until you need to sew something.

I found the same glass ‘ashtray’ at goodwill. Mine was in a wine set so I assumed it was used as a coaster for a wine bottle. I use mine as a coaster for my large bath and body works candles.
The cassette tape holder, black with drawers I’ve seen used to store kcups, teabags, cocoa envelopes in coffee bar areas. They use mason jars on top of it for sugar, marshmallows, etc. Yay, a Warren Kimball print, love his work too❤
I saw someone use a "drawer" like that to display their antique silverware collection.

I just scored that exact Warren Kimble Rooster print from a local antique store for $10 😳 wooden frame and all!! This local antique store has a Facebook page and they post their most recent things that they have acquired and what they want for it. As I was scrolling through Facebook land this morning with my iced coffee, their post for this print came up and I screamed to myself “THAT’S THE SAME ONE JULIE GOT AT GOODWILL!” 😂 I messaged them immediately and 2 hours late I had it in my hands. It now resides on my end kitchen cabinet next to my sink. I wish I could sent you a picture of it.
You could use the drawer as a shelf on the wall since it had the dividers in it.

I’ve hung a few wooden drawers in several rooms for wall shelves. Kitchen for small spice jars, bathroom for small cosmetics & medicines and my office for my small bottles of essential oils. They look great! I think it would look nice as a way for you to display your collection of clear glass salt & pepper shakers too. ❤

Take the drawer and put some legs on it and a glass top and turn it into a coffee table. You could display things underneath the glass.
I have several metal cabinets like yours. I have painted and stacked them together each one stores different craft items. One is solely for photos that I have yet to scrapbook I keep according to dates.

Julie, I wholeheartedly agree that they should donate wheelchairs, commodes, etc. to care homes. Speaking from someone who’s a carer, the prices medical renters charge the residents is astronomical! As long as they’re in good condition, I don’t see why it can’t be used!
I love your idea repurposing the ash tray as a plant dripped! I love how we can repurpose things from what they were intended.
The black drawer thing that you got looks like a card catalog drawer. It would be ideal for those long utensils that you don’t use all year long like serving spoons and long carving knives and stuff like that.
It is from Stanley Furniture which was based where I live before all our furniture manufacturing went to China and our jobs. With that red lining it would be nice to layer with for Christmas or maybe sit on a table and just set little Christmas items in. I'm sure you would come up with better ideas. I think it may have been a storage drawer for silverware or jewelry but can't imagine why it was separated from the furniture piece.

Hi! Are you from NC? We had a Stanley plant in West End, NC. That’s about 40 minutes from my small town of Rockingham.
I just saw a cooking video and she was using a recipe from a First Edition Good Housekeeping Cookbook,that she found at a Thrift Store. She was making Apple Fritter from scratch. I believe she said it was a 1929 recipe.
I thought about you since you started a cooking video, and I know that you always check out the book section at Goodwill. That’s going to be my mission when I visit a Goodwill store. I want to see if I can find a First Edition Good Housekeeping Cookbook.

For the crystal dish you wat to use asa drip saucer, I put colored fish tank gravel in the bottoms so the water can drain out and put humidity in the air and not allow the plant to sit in water.
Hang it as a shadow box, put small meaningful items in the cubbies.

I’d use the drawer as a riser for a keurig and store coffee pods and supplies in the drawers
Hit the Goodwill tonight, found solid white small roosters, brass candleholder with a handle, a goose soup taurean solid white ( love it), 2 hardback books for coffee table, one was black cover, gold writing with Gold edge on pages, it's about Lincoln writings. Also grabbed a white hens nest. Went home 😊 happy

My son had one, when he was 3. Nothing tests your patients like grocery shopping, while a 3 year old tries to push a mini buggy around the store 😂 (in Appalachia we call shopping carts buggies)

You could put a long dowel down the center of each of the blue planters (use a bead between each one to hold it (with glue) and you would have a big plant stand.

The wooden item with ridges is a foot massager. You set it on the floor and roll your foot over it. My husband uses one all the time. It really helps since he walks a lot at his job. I always look forward to thrifting with you!

It’s an ashtray. Had one back in the day. I like having ashtrays around to put trash in next to my chair.

Hi Julie. When you said " Squirrel" it just cracked me up! You are so funny! I like what you picked out. The small basket would be ideal to put your gardening gloves and small gardening tools in. You know a place to keep it all together when you do your potting of your plants. It would be useful and decorative too! Just an idea! I do have to tell you that when I go thriftin now, I always "think about it in the buggy". Don't be too hard on yourself Julie, I have "squirrel moments" myself.
