Hello everyone, my name is Julie and on Thrilled Thrifter you will find that I absolutely love thrift shopping.(Especially for home decor!) I share all things thrift here on my channel to teach you how to go thrifting for your home, family and friends. {I'm not a reseller!} I mostly thrift at Goodwill, yard/garage sales, FB marketplace, antique stores, estate sales and so many other local thrift stores. I believe you can make your home beautiful on a thrifty budget! I will take you on so many thrift with me shopping trips, share my thrift hauls and almost always show you how to use thrift finds in your home. I post every Friday and sometimes on Tuesday. Occasionally I do thrift flips and decorating videos too! I hope you walk away from my channel feeling inspired to shop secondhand. Don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss out!

It’s so refreshing to watch someone thrift for the enjoyment and not for profit! Resellers have cut in on the joy of shopping for treasure. Please keep the videos coming!
I agree debbie. Why should GoodWill sell items knowing a reseller will buy and list it online for far more. It was a place for folks that could not afford to buy at retail prices.
I agree 100 % . These resellers are selling for huge profits. No wonder many thrift stores are raising their prices. Now many of us who cannot afford to shop at retail stores,,cannot go into a thrift store without seeing all these resellers snapping photos at every turn in the store, constantly looking up to see the value and some of them are very intrusive. I think that those of us on very limited incomes, senior citizens, can hardly afford thrift store prices nowadays.
Absolutely! Agree 100%!
Agree, agree, agree!
Because Goodwill has gotten so ridiculous with their prices, I now donate to my church.. the CEO has recd total compensation of one million, one hundred eighty eight, thousand, seven hundred thirty three dollars, including a base salary of $350,200, plus bonuses worth $87,550., retirement benefits of $71,050 and$637,864 in other reportable compensation.. these numbers are from Sept. 2019..sooo, no more donations to Goodwill until their prices come down.
Yes crazy that forget that they are suppose to be helping people
That is how they started. Money always wins over. Lol
I get it regarding the CEO. However, clothing is still cheap, imo. Brand name jeans for under $5(at my goodwill) I've found many items for super cheap. A glass water bottle that sells at Walmart for $20...$1.49 at goodwill. I really think the people in the back don't have a clue about pricing.
Yes, they receive stuff for free, but they have huge trucks that haul stuff from place to place. If one store is in an area that gets an abundance of items and they can't store it all in that store...it gets sent to another location. Those truck drivers get paid...as do the other employees. They still have to pay electricity and water and whatever else comes along with owning a store.
The only thing I will say is that they should pay their employees more if they can afford to pay the CEO that much. They could also not be cheap and have carts and bags..none of my Goodwills have carts anymore, nor bags. So if you forget a bag, you'll be hauling everything in your arms.
I like to donate to local Christian based thrift stores. However, the closest one to me is 20 miles away. So I admit that when I really need to just get rid of stuff because the visual clutter is causing me anxiety...I gladly dump it all at the goodwill 2 miles away.
And everything they sell costs them zero. T-shirts just went up at our goodwill.
Way back in the early days of GW they actually employed people with special needs. I haven’t seen that in probably 25 years. And I don’t donate to them any more either. Their prices are insane. I donate to all local Christian charities
@@robinmccubbins8139technically, that's not true. They do have coats. Electricity, water, sewage, cashiers, workers in the back, truck drivers. They pay their CEO too much for sure.
Finally find a thrift shopper who is NOT a reseller!!!! Geez, some of these resellers sell for exorbitant prices! I am not a reseller and I am a senior citizen with no car. Sometimes hard to get out on several buses each way to a thrift store. Wish I could afford to buy some things from these resellers but - their prices are too high. I know I have to pay for shipping of course but I'm talking about what these sellers are actually selling stuff for, (before the shipping cost.) So...it is nice to watch your videos and you are keeping these items and not reselling everything. Also, your videos are so informative too.
Make them an offer, you just might be surprised.
I agree the resellers buy from bins for pennies and resell them so expensive that it is ridiculous for me to even look. Just greed on their part
Ohhh yes, the longer the better. I have been going back and watching your old videos..can't get enough of Thrilled Thrifter.
Thank You!
I love thrifting with you and the fact you use everything for your home. I love the ideas too. You are my favorite one to watch.
Thank You!
Thanks for taking us along. I enjoy longer videos at times because I watch them later in the day or very early in the morning with my coffee
The exact reason I have watched you for years is because you thrift for the fun of it. During the pandemic when I couldn’t get out to shop, I binge watched all of your content. You really helped me through that and I started thrifting myself.❤
Thank you! ☺️
Julie , this is an idea I came across and thought you might like. Next time you find a shelf like the one that you put your glass salt cellar on, turn it upside down and use it to hold your cookbooks on display. ( A book shelf)
Restaurant put rice in their salt shakers to absorb the moisture and keeps salt from lumping.
Thank You!
I love going thrifting with you .your ideas are smart .please continue the long videos they're great.hope your doing well.seen your daughters graduation pictures.shes so special. God's blessings on your programs
I just LOVED this longer video !! That’s bc I always hate to see your vids end. This had a little bit of everything !!
I loved all your ideas as always. Your home is so carefully curated , Julie. I love it !!
Have a blessed week .
❤xx
Thank You so much!
Put the salt in a plastic storage bag, roll with rowing pin, that might help.
I enjoy the longer videos. I can shop with you as long as you like. I find it relaxing. Love to see how you use your finds and different used
I watch your videos for relaxation, enjoying your casual strolling, and as always, love to see how anyone styles or reuse their finds. I myself am a reselller. I like your return to longer videos, and even more like your regularity of weekly posting...I like knowing and look forward to seeing you on Fridays. From another Julie !!
Thank you so much!
CONGRATULATIONS ELIZABETH!!!! MY OLDEST GRANDSON AND ONLY NIECE GRADUATE THIS WEEK.... EXCITING AND EMOTIONAL TIME. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH IN THIS NEW CHAPTER .... MUCH LOVE 🎓🎓🎓🎓🥳🎉🎉
To all of you sweet the thrifters- in addition to not using GW for donations any more I’ve found a thrift store that is nonprofit & all money goes to people who have either gone through substance abuse or prison etc- prices are also very reasonable for those on restricted budgets! I’m sure you can find some in or close to you! Serves the purpose that GW USE TO stand for💝💝
Julie, I pour Himalayan salt through a strainer if it clumps. You can mash the clumps with a spoon. Turns out great! Some of those Christmas ornaments looked like they were Lenox. The Goodwill I shop never do the baggies. Neat candle with the wooden wick! Love the napkins in the bathroom! My mother taught us that “presentation is everything”! Since you showed the cedar chest, if you decided to buy it, you need to get some Howard Feed-N-Wax. It is made of beeswax and orange oil. You would not believe how just using that product brings dry wooden items back to life. No refinishing necessary. I found it at Home Depot here in Georgia. I have waxed 15 pieces thus far on items I have inherited. Have not used all of my first 16 ounce bottle. It feeds the wood and is amazing! Great haul!
Thank You So much!
I was just saying the top my Memaw's cedar chest was so scratched up, thanks for info going to look for it.
@@ginareed2889 Thank you for letting me know that you want to try the product. For a 16 ounce bottle at Home Depot is only $9.98 here in Georgia. I have used many polishes in the past. But no more. I even called the Howard website to tell them how wonderful this stuff is. Hope it makes you as happy as it has made me. A little goes a long way.
Great tip !!
The piece with the cardinal is missing a lampshade made out of the china that the piece you showed. Is is part of Lenox Christmas Greetings formal china collection.
Thats amazing that the tart/ torte pan fits so snugly in your pie oven!
Keep these longer videos coming. Every friday night you are my long awaited gift to myself to settle in and watxh you and your latest treasures.
Thank you! Will do!
I'm so glad you and your girls had a great time away in Texas for Mother's Day. I enjoy you so much and all of your vlogs. You are a person that most of us can relate to and I so appreciate your valuable time that you spend with us. Thank you so much for letting me tag along with you.

Hi JULIE 🤗 I don't think u know how much we look forward 2 seeing u🥰 OF COURSE WE LOVE LONGER VIDEOS, THAT MEANS WE GET 2 C MORE OF U😍 THANK U 4 bringing sooooooo much joy 2 our lives & God BLESS u & family always🙏
I’ve been watching you since your first video and love that you thrift for your home and family and how you use your awesome finds. Love your channel Julie❤
Thank you so much!!
I've been watching videos of a lady that makes flower decorations from glass bowls and plates from goodwill. I think I might try. She does for yard and garden decorations. I love beautiful colored glass.
Great idea!!
Julie so glad to be a relatively new sub; I love the thrift hauls that actually decorating your home! You have great taste and love you redo some of your decor. Thanks for sharing and God Bless !🙏😍
Thank you so much!!
I understand that Goodwill raised their prices but many other businesses have raised their prices too. I can't afford to buy clothes at Macy's, Kohl's and Target because it's too expensive. At Kohl's 1 blouse costs $40! Sometimes more than that. Macy's clothes are way expensive. Restaurants raised their prices too. I shop at Goodwill when I need something because it's what I can afford these days during this inflation that we are going through.
I love the jar with the cork top with the handle. I also love the Christmas tin candle!! So beautiful ❤️
Julie I love your videos 💕💕
I love spending time with you...the longer the better 🙂
Thank You!
Hello Julie and family. I love the Pottery for $4.29. The 2 wares Pottery items for $8.29 I like then both. Even my husband like it and he is picky. The $1.29 blue jar with the wooden top is beautiful. Pretty Floral Napkins by Martha Stewart for $1.29. I always enjoy your UA-cam video of the Thrift store you visit and shop at for yourself and your family. God bless you.
HAPPY FRIDAY IN MAY Julie, family, and fur babies. Thanks for all the motivation, inspiration, tips and ideas. Love when you style your treasures. Enjoy your weekend. STTB🏞🏞🏞
Love your videos so longer videos would be great!! Have a great day!!
Julie,
Enjoyed watching this video.
Longer video. God bless
I like the longer videos Julie! I noticed the old West Bend cake carrier from the 1950s, you briefly touched and thought that would give a kitchen a retro vibe. They are expensive on etsy/ebay. Loved the vintage sifter, I have my grandmothers. I also loved the cedar chest. Fine steel wool and Restore a Finish works well to clean up old vintage furniture.
If you put the Christmas tin with candle in the freezer and later take it out it should pop right out.
Those are good quality baking cups. They are usually priced from 3 to 4 dollars. Great buy!
Tempe, Arizona! I didn’t know salt clumped. I like table salt because of the iodine. The jar is pretty. Candles give me a headache too, but I love the look of the blue candle. Enjoyed seeing your finds!
Thanks for watching!
Hi Julie, wanted to say hi from Arizona. Enjoyed your longer video. Always like the tips you share on how to style items several different ways.
A lot of beautyfull crochs and pitchures.
I would love to find a sifter to put on my pegrail with vintage kitchenware
Have a blessed weekend X
I use Dawn Powerwash to get stickers off. Just let it soak for a few minutes, no water. I enjoy your down to earth approach on thrifting.. I play a game of does she or doesn't she bring it home...lol Happy thrifting.
Another great video. Today is Saturday and my 93 year old friend wants to go thrifting today.
That is awesome! We are going too!
Great finds...take care.
That made the cutest little salt jar! I love the Christmas tin, so pretty and would probably use it just for the tin itself! I with have definitely picked up the old tin pie pan, love the look of that piece. I love the fall art piece, its so pretty! Of course with green being my fav cool color, i loved the green transfer ware dishes💚 The napkins are so pretty! I found 2 similar to those that i just use in my decorations. I love pretty linens! They look really good layered in the bowl! I love to pick up old kitchen utensils & things like the sifter. Sifters are so easy to decorate with, i have one with a old rolling pin stuck in it, one has a tea towel in it. I like sticking different things in them, sitting them on a stack of plates, or just sitting them in a shelf with greenery.. so many ways to decorate with them! I have a really old piano bench that sat in my hallway with decor on it, it was given to me from an old pastor. Love the cedar chest, i'd love to have one!! I did enjoy the video, i like a longer one honestly! TFS😊
Goo Gone good to get stickers off of anything
Thank You!
The napkins are very pretty
Thank You!
Hi Julie 💓 thanks for sharing always Laura from Arizona I love the vintage sifter ❤
Love the longer videos! You found alot of good stuff.
The best, fastest way to get stickers off is also the easier. Just put a damp paper towel on the sticker, let it sit for a couple of minutes. Always comes off in one piece and I've never had a sticky residue left. I don't have to use expensive oils or run hot water over it. I've done it this way for years, never had an issue. I've reached an age where I work easier and never harder😊
Hello. I use pink salt. It will clump after having it a while. I usually will pound the bag before opening and that will break up the clumps. It is a very good salt.
Thank You!
I loved your decoration ideas
I do the same things with napkins. Lol. 👍
I collect vintage sifters. I have about 15 above my cabinets. When i see them in the store i have to resist as i have no more room. I like your decorating ideas using the sifters. Thank you for the lemon oil tip. I've been using that and the stickers come off so easy.
You're Welcome!
Hi Julie enjoying your video as always. You asked if we would like to see you melt a candle and put it in another vessel and I would like to see that. I have wanted to try and make my own candles so I would appreciate watching you. Thanks Julie!
I'm from Arizona! 🌵🌞 Love watching your videos every week.
You cracked me up when you referred to yourself as “salty”! I haven’t heard that in a long time. Congratulations on Elizabeth’s graduation.
Love your videos! Wish you would make more than one a week!❤
Hi Julie! I really look forward to seeing your videos every weekend. Thanks for that tip about the vintage flour sifter. I bought one a while back and I have it sitting in the space between my cabinets and the ceiling. I've been wanting to try something else with it. But I love thrifting with you and yes, the longer the better. You take care ❤.
Love your videos! Great ideas. Hello from Sierra Vista Az
Thank You!
Julie I knew as soon as I seen that little bowl you would use it for salt. Yes it looks so cute. You found some goodies this week. I can't get over the high prices at the goodwill.
It's always fun shopping and decorating with you julie
Thank you for always sharing your trips and ecorationtips with us XXX
Thanks for taking us along on your thrifting adventures.
Put the napkins in bread baskets.
Hi Julie! I would live to learn how to reuse candle wax from one vessel to another. Thanks 😊 And thank you for another great video.
Your friend Kristine
Hi Julie, Arizona native here. I live in the city of Surprise! I am a fan of your channel. I just love your style. ❤
Hi Julie! I love the longer videos. I love your real life moments too. I click right off of the videos of rersellers. My son says it must be a sure path to hell to buy things meant for the less fortunate and sell it for a profit 🙃
Julie, I anxiously await your videos each week. I love how you thrift sparingly and style greatly. Thank you!
Thank you!
Everything looks great
Thank You!
Your lemon oil tip has been a great addition to the methods I generally use! It got gum off the inside door of my car when nothing else works. Thanks! Keep up the good work.
Great thrifting as usual Julie. Yes please could you share in a video again how you make your candles. Have a wonderful weekend ❤
Please show us the candle making again, I’d like to plan ahead for Christmas gifts! 😊
Keep doing the longer videos. They are so good. I love seeing what you find and how you utilize them. I also like you are not a reseller.
.

Glad I found another recent video. I've watched many of your videos but usually the older ones.
Love your finds.
Yes I loved the longer video and your life is only lived once. Live it!!
Longer the better ❤
What a fun video. I always enjoy yours. Love how you explain it all. So glad that you just thrift for yourself. Resellers have to mark everything up. Sad. I know they have to make a profit. So be it. !!! LONGER videos,.....yes please. 😊
I hope you ended up getting that cedar chest😊
Great haul Julie! Fun thrift. 🥰
Thank You!
Enjoyed the longer video!! We like to see how you style your fines!
Awesome! Thank you!
Love this video.
I would like more like this.
Our goodwill has gone up in price also.
It's so refreshing to see how you use your items.
I don't care for the other videos that people resell,I think that is why goodwill and other thrift shops have gone up on prices.
Love to your beautiful family.
You are the best.
Cindy from ct.
Aww, that little pink dish at just 1:30 into the video would be such a cute little candle vessel for your candle project. I saw lots of things I would have been tickled to find. Our goodwill is 85% clothes. Not much fun.
Happy birthday! I'm glad you got your lamp.
I enjoyed this video. Been cleaning so I gave out before I finished lol and went thrifting on Monday it was fun. I do like a little longer video. Enjoy the rest of your weekend ❤
Put your salt in the blender. The moisture or humidity causes clumping. I own a pair of little lanterns similar to that made by Lenox.. It holds a tea candle and usually has a top.
The longer the merrier, God bless you
Julie I love watching your videos so it’s great that it was longer, love the fact that your not a reseller, I am not either and love thrifting for my home too
Enjoyed the long video so much! 😃 Lots of ideas and inspiration!
Love longer video. Love your channel too!
Yay! Thank you!
That was really fun. I don't always have time to watch long videos and find that I want to but put off doing it because of that. 👍💕
❤ Love the metal pie plate and the white napkins.
Thank You!
Been waiting all day...love your videos😊😊😊😊
Thank You!

Love videos! So much fun to thrift with you. I really enjoy seeing the items you pick up, how you clean them and ideas for decorating! Have learned so many great tips and ideas I never would have thought of using items in decor. Have some dishes packed in cabinet would love to use more. Never thought of layering it under a plant. What a great idea! Love idea of putting a xmas tree in old sifter. I think I need to go to thrift store now 😉 Happy shopping and thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you!
I would love to see how you melt down your candles. Thank you so much😊😊
