What a nice orchid nursery! I. Love that most of the orchids are on planks, it's my favorite way to display them (although I'm in the cold part of the USA and that method proves difficult in the house). Another awesome thing about them is you can have sooo many of them in a small space (if you keep to the smaller types) unlike the aroid family which a handful of plants takes up so much precious floor space. You should get a few flasks and start your own hybrid!
Wow! So many beautiful and different kinds of orchids. Very informative video. I like orchids but mostly I can only grow dendrobium in my small garden here in Philippines. Personally, my first time to see those kinds of orchids especially their beautiful flowers. I hope you continue to create content on orchids and other flowering plants. I love flowers.
I started to plant right before the COVID situation hits us, luckily I already purchased some aroids before the price skyrocketed (although It still saddens me terribly that I killed my Queen Anthurium , I am unable yo get the plant after the price escalated nowadays) but after the aroid rise, It took me some time when I thought to myself: “Wow, compared to aroids, Orchid now seems quite cheap, as their price relatively remained pretty much the same.” And then, I started my collection of miniature orchid, and dang, they are amazing little plants with so much personality ! My first miniature orchid that bloomed for me is my Malleola baliensis, endemic to Bali, but dang, it’s so exciting to bloom orchids and I felt so much like a kid raising my plants to flower and awaiting that moment to come again, they can be slightly slow growing, but they are really satisfying to take care of The Phalaenopsis deliciosa is also so much of a joy to take care of, with them being a sequential bloomer and how despite so small they bloom so energetically I have yet to bloom my Chillochista and they too are such a marvel of nature, a root only plants ?? And they flower too one day ? It’s like taking care of an alien or something; the diversity of orchids are truly amazing ! However, it’s not always easy, I unfortunately killed my Phalaenopsis bellina, but somehow, it’s coming back with an extremely tiny tiny leaf ! Wish me luck 🙏
I got into orchids by accident. Friends who don't like them after the flowers are gone give them to me. I don't know how to help them to flower again but I like some orchids for their foliage.
Yup orchids are addictive... Started collecting during covid days & can't stop since... 😂... Blooms are lasting & relatively pest free. Gotta have lots of patience for rebloom though.
Wow tell him thank you 😊💞 🇹🇹 I mixed mines in clay bricks, coconut husk and dead wood. Is that ok for them? And what to encourage the stems to grow roots and leaves?
It depends on the type or orchid. Different species have different needs and that can change a bit in different environments. Check out MissOrchidGirl. She pretty much has all the information you need for growing all kinds of orchids
I ca t grow them where I live now, I lived in Guam & had them everywhere..I'm in Cali ft hills ,it snows here ND can't grow nothing here..it's so cold inside cottage too...but either orchids or a place to live ,I'll take the hm
hello shaun can you please make a video about spidermites my plants has been infested by spidermites specially my alocasias and they keep coming back i don't know what to do anymore i hope you help me thankyouuu
Ooooh the easiest solution… is to give the soil chemical pesticide (I use carbofuran). But keep in mind its very toxic so never touch it with bare hands, and make sure pets and children dont ingest it. A single drop can kill a bird. When you put them on your topsoil, it slowly dissolve and the roots take up the chemicals, any spidermites feeding on the leaves will be feeding on these chemicals too…
Thank you for the introduction. Erick is amazing! Awesome nursery!
I spent hours off camera chatting with him. He is very experienced and is striving to make a difference
What a wonderful tour, Sean! And Erick is so knowledgeable. Loved it.
😀
Just want to let you know how much I enjoy your nursery tours!
Thank youuu. So glad to take you with me to these adventures.
I have a hard time keeping orchids. I feel a little more knowledgeable thanks to this video!
Give them a try! Those supermarket ones are extremely resilient as they were selectively bred to be tough.
I have actually went to borrow The Orchid Thief after watching this episode. Thank you Sean for this video.
I havent had the time to read it myself! Sounds like something I’d enjoy reading
Thank you, loved this video!! Great orchid nursery and Erick has so much knowledge to share!

Erick contoh anak muda yg berdedikasi pada passionnya. Dia tahu apa yg dia inginkan dan dia sangat menikmatinya. Respect deh 👍
Iya kita butuh banyak orang specialisasi genus di Indonesia. Skrg kalo aku liat banyak orang hanya kejar trend market.

Whoaa thanks for the share. I wish more people will move to orchids after the aroid craze. They are actually very interesting and beautiful.

For orchid care.

Or you can use neem oil but apply it every 1-2 months as routine. This is the more environmentally friendly approach
