I love animalics. However, I could not tolerate Furyo. But Kouros, this stuff is genius. I have 2 x vintage bottles (Parfums Corp and Gucci) and treasure this stuff. Great review. Civet is one of my fave notes.
Told you few times about EO1 Assam Pure Parfum! One of my fragragrance for life...I've tried the EDP version of the OG from one of my friend! Unbelievable stuff! I believe OG EO1 basically is EO1 Manipur as Oud from Manipur (India) used there! Another one is EO1 Siem Reap, Combodian Oud used there in the base! Will be eagerly waiting for your review on EO1 Assam. My SOTD is Mem by Bogue! I'm in love with it 😁😁
The Insomnia Not A Top 10. This is definitely one of my most desired notes! MAAI and Gold Man are my favorites to wear. Civet de Nuit is on my “Hope to Cop” list.
Civet....and the list goes on, amazing you have so many. At last you got Zibeline, I enjoy this so much. Once you get used to it dare I say, it will blow some of those listed here. For me it sings even better in cold weather, the cologne is great too. I have the PDT as well with the 'W' glass stopper, it's a beauty. Coty Chypre you needn't spend so much...I have the 15ml Parfum which came in under $100 and my recent goto find I managed to get Coty Chypre 50ml in EDC for $65.65! That's just the tip of the iceberg on what I have found recently.

Yo Ramsey...always stoked on your shows. As a perfumer, the objective when using animalics is to hide their boisterous scent as much as possible behind the high notes and heart notes until they lift in the dry down and the true magic of animalics start to unfold. Castoreum is a perfect example. As that strong leathery note dissipates that beautiful powdery fruity scent starts to present itself. Keep up all the epic shows your doing.. best wishes. Been waiting for this video. I got the civet pee stains on Kouros too. On my really old ( possibly 80s) mini especially. It was a little splash bottle. Yellow thick stains in the grooves of the top of the bottle and on the cap too. Can't wait for the Bernard Chant video btw. I'm so glad Aramis 900 is in there . It's one of my all-time favorites. That sour manly Rose knocks me off my socks every time. My top 3 are Kouros, Aramis 900 and Furyo. But I never smelled Joint. I'm going to try to track down a bottle. Oh you make a good point about a fragrance can be very good even when poorly blended. Like Fiona I think you were talking about. There's this weird brand called pecksniffs . They pop up at rack stores.tgey are kind of retro modern. they're kind of baldy and strong like '80s fragrances and also have some modern touches too. I kind of get an old-fashioned maturity from them . They are strong and retro and unique and smell great despite obviously screechy blending. 😁. I got this one called pecksniffs professional. So strong and mature and unlike anything being madeh today. At least to my nose holy crap that blending has big gaps in it not smooth but I still love it.

Ohhh yeah... no doubt... those 90s bottles of Habit Rouge were Glorious... although I have a bottle from around 10 years ago and it is still really really really good 🤷♂️
@@RamseytheRam I think all changed in 2015… and in 2013 wasser restored Mitsouko and L’heure Bleue. I have 2014 bottles of both, great stuff. And then I got a 2017 Mitsouko, was kinda weak… 😂 IFRA we love you

I just tried Dana Tabu in the tiny Violin vintage. Wow. I'll try the Bal A Versaille and compare them together. Tabu Vintage reminds me of me in a flea market where they keep the unburnt Incense sticks as a kid. Back when a lighter was $0.25 a piece Tom Ford Noir edp has Civet in it. Not sure if it's synthetic or not.

JJ said it perfectly.. civet in fragrance like MSG in food, it enhances other materials and give them more room to breath. It’s why you saw it more back in the day before you had all these synthetics have a effect, but are just not the same. I love the texture civet gives. It’s so cuddly.
Hi Ramsey. Thanks for this video. Just ordered a gift box of Kouros, 50 ml fragrance and 150 ml deodorant PPR from early 2000's unused for £90 on Ebay. Seems like a good deal? Brings back childhood memories and it's ridiculous I was wearing this as a kid.. ))

I think that if we look with that prism the animal damage in general we would not eat meat either, I do not know how much a civet can suffer but I have seen slaughters of animals such as pigs etc and I can say that the damage to the animal is very cruel. The human being is at the top of the pyramid, we cannot deny it. Not to mention the bulls in my country 🇪🇸. I am not an activist and never have been but there are many hypocritical people in this world who would say that the use of the civet in perfumery is cruel and then they are carnivores

theres no civet in Tabu, its all done with labdanum and the narcissus. the new version smells very close to the vintage. you just need to spray a bit more to match the age maceration. Also wheres Rochas Femme?
@@RamseytheRam Femme is so good, one of my faves, I think I like the Olivier Cresp version the most. and what profumo says vs someone that seen the formula says are two different things, even though it has a similar civet effect theres none ;) but thats the magic of perfumery :)

The only Le Labo I have and kinda like is their Yilang. Nice old school chypre methinks.
Le Labo is one of the worst brands IMHO .... not a fan personally

Interesting! I have a full bottle of Truth, had no clue it had any civet. Like you said it's basically smothered under the other ingredients.

SCHERRER 2 has no civet listed but Jean-Louis Scherrer from 1979 does.
Scherrer 2 does have a civet note listed in parfumo 😊
