My friends in Christ. My name is Henry J. Inman Paonessa, and I live in Ohio, United States. However, as you can see by my name, my mother was a Paonessa and her grandfather was born in your village. The date that was passed on to me was 1843. I am wondering if you have any record of his birth, baptism, etc. His name was Silverio Paonessa. He emigrated to the U.S. in Puerto Rico and married Maria Monseratte Alvarez. They had six children. One was my grandfather Rafael Paonessa. Any information on my great grandfather Silverio or possibly any Paonessas in the area would be greatly welcomed. I would also plan a visit to the village to meet possible relatives. Thank you for reading my note and possibly helping me. God bless you! Grazi! 🙂
H Henry! We can certainly check with Antonello. when we get back to SDT and see if he recalls a name like that. When you come we can put you in touch wit the commune and you can search their records. Antonello has helped others find their relatives, In fact one person came over and found his grandfather's house. The house had been abandoned but his grandfather's portrait was still on the wall. He bought the house and is renovating it now, It is quite a story.
Thanks for sharing Chris. Beautiful community
