      What I'm curious, did you also have motor support at more than 50 KM/h? Most devices to unrestrict the motor, simply half the registered speed, thus the motor support is cut of at 50 instead of 25. And yeah, with slightly more aerodynamic equipment, you'd be even faster at those speeds :)

      My BBSHD1000 mtb can cruise along at 48- 63 kph, 48 slight incline, 65 slight decline, with me 100kg, 52 tooth chainring, in top gear throttle only, spinning the back wheel off the ground it can spin at 95kph, fastest I have ever been, going down on a very steep hill is 69 kph, wing resistance is far to high to go any faster.

    Shimano E8000 can go 40mpg on boost mode in38x10 gearing (simple app derestrict) Some people say it can go up to 85 km/h But I assume you have to increse the size of a chain ring in the front, because you simply run out of gear at 35-40mpg

    My Kenevo has a Planet 3, which lets the motor keep going past 25kph. On the flat I can get it to about 40kph, for short sprint bursts. BY then I'm spinning at 120 rpm, Anyone who thinks that a Planet 3 will let my bike do 75 kph is nuts and understands neither gearing, nor power.
    To do 75kph would take over 2000 watts, and E-bikes just don't make that much power. An elite track rider putting out 1500 watts can sprint to that kind of speed for a very short period of time. Gearing and wind resistance are VERY limiting factors.
    Most of the time, in general riding, I cruise around 30 kph, which is m much nicer than hitting the wall at 25kph, similar speeds to any road bike and much slower than a serious roadie. Off road, up hills, usually much slower.

      By cruising at 32-35 km/h you actually gain a few km of range. At 45 km/h the range is about half of a stock bike.
      Experimented on a Bosch CX MTB and a Bosch Active Line Plus city bike with VOLspeed V4 on flat road.
      32-35 km/h is a comfortable commuting speed, 45km/h is not. (on these bikes)

    While I agree that ebikes could be 5-10km/h faster,, using the speeds reached by professional athletes in controlled environments/tracks is not really a valid comparison. The point is that amateurs are often not responsible or practised enough to behave responsibly and biked are almost always ridden around public areas. It is a genuine public safety concern to have ebikes (road or EMTB) racing around at high speeds.

    It really grinds my gears when people say ebikes are limited to 25kph, thus they are slow.
    Ebikes can go as fast as you can pedal and they will also assist you up to 25kph. Just because the motor stops, doesn’t mean you also have to.

    • @swinchester6132
      @swinchester6132 8 місяців тому +3

      Except it's like hitting a brick wall after 25kph limit, basically pedalling a tank that's way way harder to pedal than a non-ebike at 25kph+, it can make road riding a ebike more or less useless except when you are going uphill. Unless you've spent 10k on a ultra light ebike.
      there should be a limit yes, but it should be 20mph limit in my opinion.
      by raising the limit slightly, it would stop alot of "illegal" bikes being ridden on the road also.
      Off road riding, the limit isn't such a problem. Again, in my opinon

      Because cars and motorcycles don’t tend to ride on the pavement or paths which are shared by both pedestrians and bicycles. We want to caravan with our 2 e bikes this year covering 3000+ miles and one bike has to go on the car roof. (Finding a roof carrier rated for an e bike was hard enough).
