The shop he’s at must know how much of an asset he is to their team. The tour Daniel took us through was awesome, and I’m so thankful. If you enjoyed it, give this video a Like!

      On the left side of the box, you have three plastic trays, yellow green and orange. Who makes them? Guessing you use them to hold parts when you are tearing apart something. Nice tool box you have

    • @danielwaldron988
      @danielwaldron988 4 місяці тому +1

      @jjgag601 Thanks man! They're magnetic parts trays/organizers, I actually have a black one as well. Snap-on makes them, I can get the exact part numbers for you if you want them. I can generally organize like a head/engine/transmission job size amount of stuff into each one, might take 2 for like a cab off diesel head job, so it's pretty rare that I need all 4 at the same time, but it does happen occasionally. I actually have several harbor freight triple and single magnet trays stuck to the side under the table that I also use for smaller stuff. I just like to keep things organized enough so I could potentially tear something apart, have it sit a few months, and then not have to think too hard about what suff is for what going back together.

    • @markm0000
      @markm0000 5 місяців тому

      @@DillonDaVillain222 It takes a little research and guessing to find the connectors online. Sometimes it’s easier to just hack apart cars at a junk yard and get a bucket of spare connectors. My favorite test harnesses are for stuff that’s hidden so you can check resistance and how much voltage/amperage is going through the live circuit. They sell pinout boxes or you can 3D print your own. When you’re that good at wiring might as well have your own mobile shop and only specialize in electrical work. Shops will gladly outsource that for a car that’s causing headaches.

    This channel is insane. I'm like a casual car guy and rarely work on anything anymore these days, but tools are just one of those things that are so exciting. Guys are excited to talk about their tools, what they like and use the most... and all of us viewers are excited to buy them, at least until the bill comes. It's just fun to see everyone's different techniques for organization as well as where they keep the "daily drivers"

    • @ToolBoxTour
      @ToolBoxTour  4 місяці тому +1

      Yeah! People love talking about their tools. It’s kind of a shame when they spend thousands on their tools and they don’t have any way of talking about them or show casing their tools to anyone - just sit in their toolbox. I love this channel since I’m able to talk to them about stuff they don’t really talk to anyone else about.

    I bet I've got at least 1 older Snap-On tool than anyone watching this video. I have a socket from the old drive size system(drive sizes ellude me, but were in the 32nds of of an inch) with a date code of 1929. Not in the greatest of shape, and as I have no drive tools that fit it, it's used as a paperweight.
    As far as ratchets go, even though there is only an occassionally around Matco guy, my favorite ratchet is a 3/8" locking flex head Matcho ratchet(steel handle) that I found in the trash with the flex head rusted up. Once I got it free'd up, although the locking teeth are very pitted, it works absolutely perfectly. IF I need something shorter, I have a "fine tooth" (for it's time, 72 tooth)rubber coated finger grip Ampro ratchet I picked up in the clearance bin of an Autozone 20yrs ago, and prior to finding the MAtco ratchet, it was my go to for nearly everything. I've similar to the toolbox owner, found the modern rubber handle rachets soak up oil and can't be kept clean. The Ampro ratchet handle is like plastidip, and is impervious to oils.
