I appreciated his sensible approach to acquiring tools, balancing need, quality and cost without getting hooked on the hype and ego appeal of the truck brands. The tool trucks have a long history of keeping wrenchers poor with their predatory sales and pricing strategies. This should be played as an example of what to do for the new guys entering the business. Well done!
Finally somebody that has tools besides snap-on, cornwell, etc. Harbor freight has great tools, dont know why many people try to knock em. Broke a few, but im sure the way i was using them, it wouldnt matter what name was stamped on them. Awesome video.
Him and I have a lot in common. We both love purple, we have the same favorite ratchet, both do diesel performance, we even have the same cornwell roll cart. That box is sweet! Great color combo!
Love the content seeing true guys that really wrench showing how to getvthe job done with Different varieties brands of tools it's about making money and put it in your pocket..
I have the same Milwaukee 1/4” stubby impact, when I was at a body shop I used it all day every day. Only a few days a week I had to break out a 3/8” or 1/2”. That little impact does amazing, I still have it and still works great. Awesome tool for the money for the lighter work!
That oil filter tool for Cummins/Dodge 4x4s was a life saver for me bc i had to do maintenance on my brother inlaws pickup and was the first snd only thing i got off of the snap on truck and it was less than 20 bucks
people don't realize those NOCO booster packs do work on totally dead batteries. just connect ground and hold the yellow exclamation button to over ride the safety's with positive clamp disconnected and it gives full power boost. connect positive clamp and it'll be boosting. I started a half dozen stone dead machines after christmas break with mine couple years back. last one needed pickup hooked up to the second battery but the things are amazing compared to old lead acid booster packs
Hi Viz is easier to spot when you set it down. Just wipe down regulary The long wrenches are great in some cases. Though even that still required a 24” breaker clamped to it to get a 14mm driveline flange bolt loose 😆
Nice set up there. Since you're a huge Milwaukee fan and youre kind of meh on that matco soldering iron, I can't recommend the Milwaukee soldering iron enough. Borrowed a coworkers one time and had to have one myself. Heats up in about 10 seconds and I haven't had a job yet that it didn't work on.
That was a good tour. Modest guy. Not afraid to tell where he thought money could be saved. I appreciate that. Anyways, thx for sharing. Watching from Ontario Canada 🎉 See ya on your next one.
On using the induction heater on carrier bearings, do you first cut the outer race off with torch or can you heat the whole bearing? I have nicked the stub shaft a few times cutting the inner off with the torch. This is the first time i have really learned something on a tool box tour. THANKS!
In case you’re wondering yes when I was doing the carrier bearing I cut the putter race off and get the ball bearings out then use the heater to heat the inner race and pull it off. Nice part is it doesn’t super heat the whole driveline like using a torch and only takes a few seconds to heat and the inner race just slides off.
Some people have a problem spending money on tools. This dude didn't drink anyone Koolaid. All his tools work & a majority of them cost a fraction of what the koolaid kids spend on their snap-on masterpiece sets. I respect cabinets like his, much more then the 100k+ Snap on collectors. to each their own though,
6:50... They're Lisle..and you could have gotten the whole set (of 3 sizes) for what Matco charges for the big one...☝️..js 29:27.. Harbor Freight has a Cheif brand air hammer that is similar to this Matco air hammer ..per TTC on UA-cam..it's a beast for around $100... I have the OTC vacuum coolant system..hundred bucks
I do plan on heading out of state in 2024. Hard to communicate on this comment section. If you have instagram, hit me up @toolboxtours or just email me at toolboxtour@gmail.com. I’m interested in seeing your setup!
Facom..,...underated.....i have a mountain of snao on stuff...... But every day i also use a lot of Facom....and they change screwdrivers on warranty without winging like a pig.,.😂
I don’t understand the requirement of buying your own tools and then only get $20-30/hr? There are jobs that pay that and better and you don’t spend thousands on your own tools.
What about craftsman!!!??? I’m a die hard, craftsman person and I have countless dollars invested in them, but you do all the high dollars stuff. What about the shade tree mechanic? You need to think about us instead of the high dollar Ferrari or Lamborghini repairman you’re looking in the wrong direction when you are doing your videos I have six boxes full of craftsman and tools from Harbor freight and I think I could do the same job but the million dollar mechanic could do!
Thank you so much for doing the tour. Had a ton of fun doing it.
No, thank YOU!
I saw your Silt Happens stickers.
I’m in Silt. Very cool ! Do you know people in Silt ?
Seen you had a fuckton of drill bits, mac tools drill bits every size is warrantied. Just an fyi

Very frugal. This is probably my favorite tour on your channel so far.
Right?? So many cheaper tools that still get the job done 🤘
Diesel mechanics have best tool tours hands down!!!
Thank you for uploading addicted to these videos don’t stop bro
Haha I’m glad you enjoy them!
He is right about the Pittsburgh wrenches, the higher end ones are actually quite good...great set up 👍
I’ve been beating the shit out of my 15/16 for 5 years now. I’ve bent my 22 and 27 lol tho. I’ll upgrade em one day

Im a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic and I've used Pittsburgh wrenches & sockets for years now and have never had an issue.
Finally somebody that has tools besides snap-on, cornwell, etc. Harbor freight has great tools, dont know why many people try to knock em. Broke a few, but im sure the way i was using them, it wouldnt matter what name was stamped on them. Awesome video.
You’re right lol. Some stuff is easily broken but some things from harbor freight do surprise me lol

Love the videos I actually love to see a heavy equipment mechanic tool box
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Nice set up. Love those ac gauges
Right?? Digits!
He did a great job following up the tank guy
That purple tool box is the best color hands down I’ve ever seen.
It was sweet!!
That oil filter tool for Cummins/Dodge 4x4s was a life saver for me bc i had to do maintenance on my brother inlaws pickup and was the first snd only thing i got off of the snap on truck and it was less than 20 bucks
We need a video of the motorcycle mechanic's tool as well
Great setup. Love the colors. I have a cornwell black pro series cart and cornwell green platinum cart. I got the purple trim for my pro series also.
The purple seriously pops!

Owww! I know what im doing first thing once barn works done! 🤗
Hope you enjoy this one!
@ToolBoxTour thanks again man! It was awesome
The Streamlight stinger seems to be the "go to" flash light of every mechanic today.
It really is. A little bulky, but so reliable and durable. Plus changeable batteries make it perfect for all day use.
12:15 Silt Happens ! That’s from Silt Colorado, where I live !
Friggen awesome !!🤩
Wonder who this guy knows in Silt ?

Awesome video, matco air hammer for the win 😂
Yeah! So many people like it!
I like how everybody always says the tool guy gave me a very good deal

Nice! I’ll have to check out the Chief air hammer next time I’m over there. Sounds like a bargain.
Making the routine trip to HF tomorrow morning, I’ll have to check that air hammer out! I know chief has some pretty decent stuff.
It's a mac air hammer thar is same as the chief
@@Nordman555 yup.. you're right.. that was it.. still a beast. ☝️
Do you plan on ever going out of state? Got a huge box I would love you to tour. I live in Illinois

Doesn’t matco’s Jamestown cart have slide tops ? I know he doesn’t like Matco but it’s an option…
Oh! That would be sweet if it’s slide top. Those newer Cornwell carts are just massive.
Anyone know where I can get the 1” and up wrench’s and sockets? I’ve been looking all over
Search “Jumbo”
does anyone have a different tool thats like the hammer impact with the taps? if anyone makes one thatd be a easy buy
Yeah I was so intrigued by it then he told me it was discontinued 😕
👍👍‼️
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
cornwell truck told me snap-on,MAC, matco are all the same but my cornwell guys sells it for 40 percent cheaper
They sell different tools, so no they aren’t the same.
I thought kenny wore an orange hoodie. Do i really need to say what comes next :p
Facom..,...underated.....i have a mountain of snao on stuff...... But every day i also use a lot of Facom....and they change screwdrivers on warranty without winging like a pig.,.😂
Id say someone needs to pay the heating oil bill

I love you

This guy literally mostly has cornwell, some snap on wtf. He does everyone.
