      Completely understand that I had them swapped in my original tier list (shaheen may have been a bit lower). Honestly the space between Shaheen to Yoshi is not they large, they're mostly on the same level. The reason I have Shaheen higher in this tierlist is because he has more general use tools. Yoshi lacks some good generic tools like decent lows, and he has to assume a lot of risk to do some of his more fucked up, damaging set ups. Shaheen has quite a bit of lows (some that shift into stance), Heen's sidestep is better, and he has better generics. For example, Heen's hopkick crushes the same way yoshi's does, Shaheen has a safe armor heat engager, Shaheen has a guard break he can do out of the heat engager animation. I think Yoshi is harder to fight online for obvious reasons, but in most other settings Shaheen is a more stable character (esp in long form sets).

    I can't get it how is lee so low? Defensive character that struggles? Mf has range 3 mixup, i14 mid running move that's plus, safe ff3 that's just as fast as jin ff2, b33 to open someone up, lows overall are awesome and very safe. His df1 you can't step into a button, have to do a full ssl, and that's while his m4, df2,df4 fully track to that side. I can't see how this character is not top 15 at least

      Asuka if anything is usually overrated rather than downplayed. Though if you don't know matchup she can give you trouble.
      With that said sure, she is now much stronger than she was at beginning. But other characters happen to be stronger. So A is more than fair to her placement.

    • @danhonorem
      @danhonorem 23 години тому

      @@ragnarok7452 She isn't too bad to deal with when played as a defensive, keepout focused character like she was in T7, but she's more than capable of being an offensive 50/50 character in this game. When you play her the "correct" way T8 wants you to play, she's very powerful. KingReyJr's Asuka is a great example of that.

    I'm stuck between Bushin and Tekken King with Lars and it definitely lines up exactly with what you described. Nothing is real outside of DEN 3. You have to play extra slow and lame just to get people to respect anything. Heat Smash is so slow I'd rather they revert the damage and make it 16f. Damage is pretty mid and combo lacks any strong tailspin effects. Lacks threatening lows. 1,1,1 not wall splatting combined with a weak heat engager follow up is rough when compared to other characters that have similar strings that can accomplish both. Still like to play him but there's a lot of moments where I'm pretty sure this character hardly got a second glance by the balancing team. It's like they only want me to spam DEN 3 and hope for the best since every other tracking option got nerfed hard from T7 or I just get sidestepped.

    @luv_you4984 2 дні тому +1

    As a zafina main who has a pretty solid of understanding of the character and the game in general I’ll say she’s pretty low tier because her design and gameplan are at odds with t8’s core design. Zafina is a defensive character who wants to opponent to mash into her so she can take full advantage of her movement and evasion to make them whiff. like do a poke and back dash or side step and whiff punish. The problem is that in this game the last thing you want to do is let your opponent mash and start their offense on you because of how snowballs this game is. Like as zafina I’m actively losing if I let a character like draganov, Jin, Nina, feng, king etc. get their offense started, I can’t afford to just block and look for a window to try to side step and whiff punish against a lot of these characters I’m losing to much grey health and guessing 50/50’s. I HAVE to retaliate or else I’m going to lose every time. Especially since zafina lacks panic moves besides her reversal which is still inherently a risk as it does a lot of self damage. So in this game zafina is forced to press a lot more and try to get my offense started and be aggressive, the problem is even if I get a poke like a jab or df1 to land and I’m plus zafina offense isn’t that good. Most of her plus on block moves that go into on her stance mixups are often fake.
    For example her while running 1+2 which goes into her tarantula stance which is plus +8 on block. It’s a good move but the problem is the stance, the game incentivizes you to do df1 afterwards but it’s a fake pressure move outside of heat as you can jab and even df1 interrupt it. Because when she does the move her hurt box immediately goes back to standing before the actual moves comes out so you can ignore the plus frames and interrupt it. So now the zaf is forced to delay it which is a risk since she can’t block in that stance, or try to do 3 which is punishable on block or her lows which are both slow and launch punishable. And in general you can interrupt a lot of her stance pressure with a jab, or crouch jab. Which is why if you watch tournament players use zafina they rarely go into stance cuz they aren’t that good.
    So in general the opponent can just side step left and ignore majority of zafina’s “pressure” and the stuff you can’t step you can interrupt. Like the only time zafina shines if is the opponent is mashing recklessly into her and she can use her evasiveness to take advantage of her good whiff punish. So rn her gameplan if the opponent knows the matchup is riddled down to poking and hoping her opponent mashes and whiffs. And even then she’s not even the best at that niche! If you wanna play a movement and whiff punish based character you have Lilli, Alisa, feng who do that better then her AND have overall better buttons than her. So yea rn outside of knowledge checks (which is a weakness of the opponent not a strength of the character) she’s limited in what she can do in this game because the format doesn’t agree with her play style much.

    • @Adieu_tk
      @Adieu_tk  День тому +1

      100% agree, thank you for providing your insight. I watched a lot of Zafina gameplay through watching FrameWhisperer pick her up.
      They gave her WR 1+2 into df1 to give her more offensive pressure, but it can be ignored by things like safe power crushes, Lili divine step, fast mids etc. I actually think Zaf's heat engagers are pretty good, but she has no way of capitalizing on that because she's not a pressure character. Again, her core design not meshing with the game system. Ultimately, she suffers from the issue that all of the defensive characters do.
      The only way I'd think to improve her is to increase her back dash so she can do the whiff punishment she's meant for (it would also make her different than Alisa and Lili for how they use their movement to get out of situations). ATM she just comes across as a very identity-confused character, hopefully they fix her so you and other zaf mains have your character back

    • @luv_you4984
      @luv_you4984 День тому

      @@Adieu_tk yes I learned a lot from frame whisperer as well. Also I don’t understand why they nerfed zafina’s movement coining into t8 but left lilli and Alisa untouched. Imo the way they should change zafina is to first give her B1+2 in neutral. It’s currently locked behind scarecrow stance which makes no sense to me. It would help her neutral and keep out game immensely as it’s a quick super evasive low poke. It’s a move you can’t spam since it’s launch punishable to and I’ll be fine if they make it like -3 or 4 on hit too, as it’s supposed to be a defensive move.
      Secondly she should more moves like her f1+2. It’s a move that emphasizes her gameplan perfectly. It’s a safe heat engager at -9 and on block it pushes the opponent back in a way that if the opponent tries to mash and take their turn all zafina has to do is do a single back dash and df2 whiff punish them. That move is how zafina is supposed to play, manipulating frame data to where the opponent is hesitant to attack her due to the push back and her movement. Other moves i think should behave like this on block are ff4, db4 (specifically on hit) db2, scarecrow 2,1 (they should increase the push back on block.) This would promote her whiff punish play style and make it easier to initiate. Lastly give her back some of her stance moves from t7 which gives her some more options.
      I wouldn’t even mind some “compensation” nerfs to moves like to her wr1+2 plus frames on block and her tarantula df1. But that’s the only moves I think have a good case for them getting nerfed. Anything else is just being petty🤣

      @@luv_you4984ye the back dash nerf is uncalled for, however her back dash is still above average (it should be better tho because drag has a better back dash)
      She is not supposed to play defensive anymore sadly, it’s about abusing her plus frames and mixups from stances
      The whole back dash and poke unfortunately can never work in tekken 8, that’s tekken 7 playstyles even though I think that was better 🥲

Yoshi only gets hard to play if you wanna make it to high levels, but if your goal is blue rank you can just do the easiest flowcharts and get away with it bc people at that level have no idea how to counter him lol.

    • @Adieu_tk
      @Adieu_tk  День тому +1

      @fatalishuntinghorn yep! I actually played some Victor when the game came out just to try him. I really appreciate his fundamental tools like his df2, ff2, hopkick, f4 1/2 for whiff punish, wr 2 etc. and tools to help his opponent honest like a fast homing mid, parries, and quick mid checks. (There is an issue with people getting clipped by WR2, which is why it gets complained abt. But I that's a general T8 issue because certain moves track waaay too much)
      He still has a lot of cheese though. Most notably, u1+2 (most ppl have figured out how to counter it), and his mix-up vortex. Like you said it isn't real but the animation of it and the online environment really fucks with people's ability to deal with it. It's also a situation you specifically have to lab if you don't play vic (which ppl don't want to do). He is good cause he has fundamental tools to help him and cheese to surprise people who aren't ready. Maybe that's why we saw him a lot in early pro tekken tournaments, and his usage rate has decreased over time.
      I'd love to see him more focused on those fundy tools he has, but it seems like the balance team would prefer him to be more "TEKKEN 8" (which is ultimately just preference).
