Skydio, can you fix this maybe?

- Driving near an abandoned military ammunition depot with my quad, the Skydio 2 loses me again more than once and has a lot of difficulty finding me again, just like has happened before.

Great adventure Peter - sadly you don't get as much hits as you deserve! Hope at least Skydio is paying a lot of attention on this weird behaviour of the drone software (and I'm convinced it's SW bug...) - Do not stop making these videos.... It would be great to have another long flight test as the one which made you famous, where you flew the drone from the mountain to you balcony three years ago.... that was HUGE!!!

That was my favorite video too, I sometimes revisit it for a thrill, but in Europe that kind of drone flying is history now. And from 2022 most drones are no more allowed to fly except for special designated areas.

The Skydio technology isn't perfect but the it's still quite remarkable. When you were going fast (11:45 mark), it seemed to increase attitude to miss the trees very smoothly. Great stuff Peter.

Not sure what you want fixed except maybe when it lost you out in the field. I think you pushed it to its limit in the trees. Still that's pretty impressive following you through the trees. Don't hold your breath though for a fix right away. They are based in California and they have been in a lockdown for 2 months. I'm in batch 3 and I have been waiting for 6 months to get mine. Good thing the mavic Air 2 came out keep me busy until I get it. Lol.

When it loses visual tracking, it changes to GPS. GPS coordinates are not nearly accurate enough for it to regain a visual lock on you, depending on the camera's view. If you have it set to track you from the side, and the GPS coordinates say you are 5 meters behind where you really are, then the view as it tracks your coordinates from the side will never include you. When It loses you, you might try changing it to follow from behind. That way, as you move and your GPS location moves, it should follow your coordinates from behind, looking forward, and have a better chance of seeing you in the frame and regaining a visual lock, even if the coordinates are off.
In this instance maybe, but I have this in many different occasions. If it had locked onto me, it knows where I am relative to the GPS coordinates it got from me, so It might be able to correct for that.
It seems to do better with more altitude.

Ik probeer de skydio 2 al 1.5 maand te vinden maar geen enkel bedrijf in Nederland verkoopt de skydio 2. Alleen skydio zelf verkoopt ze alleen op dit moment verschepen ze niet laat staan naar andere landen buiten de u.s en Canada. Ik denk dat de dji mavic air je helemaal niet kan volgen op deze manier. Zelfs op amazon of ebay kan ik hem niet vinden 😭
I see to much issues on tracking and the screen on the phone is constantly freezing with low frame rate.
