Yep my trx6 works nothing like that. Smooth as silk and plenty of punch. Made it a cabover flatbed and a custom gooseneck trailer. Load the trailer with my negative-g trx4 conversion, my sons mostly stock trx4 and a couple of scx 24's. Trx6 tows the whole setup over most normal trail terrain. Super cool if you're into the scale stuff at all.

If you go by the traxxas guide for pinnion mesh it's like this every time I moved mine one by one hole and it sorts it out eg 11 t is c . Put in position d 9t is a I put in B
Well looks like someone else has finally built another one I'm the only person I know or anyone else I know in Newcastle NSW Australia that has built one
I have a question I hope you will answer. I know you can. Does the 1800kv Hobbywing fusion motor run more or less rpms than a stock trx4 motor on 3s lipo? Thanks in advance.
@@HolmesHobbies Would the hobbywing fusion handle stepping up to a 16 tooth pinion to regain some top speed? With it's FOC ESC I'll still have decent low speed control.
@@HolmesHobbies Or at least a 14t pinion. I just know 16 is the largest I can go with the factory spur. Thanks for your expertise. I'm a bit of a newb. Trying to soak up a little knowledge.
I dont know about gearing on it. FOC isn't needed to drive like an axe or fusion. The new crawlmaster esc is not FOC but it has rpm lock and ultra low startup.
Love the 1/16 scale bruder body I almost have the same set up but green I First started out with collecting bruder’s but I got introduced to 1/16 & 1/10 scale crawlers and didn’t get rid of my bruder’s because I use those as hard bodies besides I started collecting bruder’s when I was 5 now 13, I will hopefully never get rid of my trucks 👍

John lol 😂 If I was a Mustang guy I wouldn't test a Corvette with a slipping transmission to give my opinion of it lol... it's pretty well known the Hobbywing Xerun Axe R2 is so smooth & has such slow speed its almost like cheating, almost makes it boring its so smooth. I have 6 different Holmes motor combos & one Hobbywing Exrun. nothing wrong with a healthy mix here & there 😂 ....
Now I can do a series on making this thing work well! This is how the last owner was driving it... what he experienced wasn't optimal. Tore into it and fixed the mesh in an upcoming vid.
It is unfortunately but the manual is 9/10 incorrect when it comes to the mesh on smaller pinions. 12T pinion on a 45T spur recommends the D position, but E is much smoother. That’s where mine is
Regarding TRX4 and TRX6 motor position/mesh move it one position. It seems for larger pinions 15T+ the positions shown on the manual are correct, but for below that it’s wrong and much too tight. I’m running a 12T pinion and it’s in the manual as D position but I changed mine to E it’s perfect. Mine is a TRX4 running 45T spur and 12T
Mamba X is definitely smoother Compared to Axe. However AXE has ground breaking drag break. I recently purchased a Vanquish VS4-10 pro kit and decided to go Mamba X route. Do you think the Puller pro 2700kv will be comparable to any Axe system in terms of drag break?
ShivOm SinGh, Mamba X is Good I have several, it doesn't compare to the slow speed crawl of the XERUN FOC R2 & anyone saying it does is nothing more than a Fan boy. I have several esc's from several companies spend 2 minutes running an Axe R2 & a blind man can see & feel the difference. doesn't mean Mamba X's aren't good there just a multi purpose esc not built straight for crawling such as the Xerun plus there obnoxiously noisy, there's nothing wrong with giving other companies (Hobbywing) props when they do it right!! I can't praise Holmes products enough I own many of his combos etc as well but let's be honest when talking about the XERUN as well........ I might upload a video to show the real world difference between Hobbywing R2 & anything else compared to it. it's kinda like cheating its so slow & smooth, makes it borderline not fair to even use in competition...
@@OswaldBeef I don't think so as the 540 axe Motor also does amazing when it comes to drag break. Axe has quite weird technology fir breaking, Try rotating the shaft of the motor, when it stops it will not only stop but also try to go a bit in the opposite direction. That I think is responsible for better drag break. Because the actual rotor and magnets are much more superior in the holmes puller motors while comparing the 540 Axe motor and definitely alot better then stock castle slate motors.
