I bought one a couple months ago. I planned to use it as just a crawler only. I have mixed feelings about it. Yesterday was our groups 1st crawl of the season here in Alaska. I have had a chance to fix some of the TRX6 issues. So far I have did 110mm desert lizard shocks, all portals are brass, brass C hubs and brass knuckles, diff covers etc etc. I have also added the hobbywing quickrun fusion pro 2 in 1 combo. I ran out of time. I took it out to the meet yesterday and man...that thing can crawl. I was doing lines the 4x4's couldn't. After about 20 min, I was having alot of issues. I couldn't get an approach to a good line. The stock servo would only turn the tires if the truck was moving. What a piece of shit. Useless junk. The stock tires do good but if your going to use it as a serious crawler then be ready to dump some $$ Today I ordered proline krawler tires, metal beadlocks and proline 2 stage foam. Just over $250 USD. Unbelievable!! So yeah, this is a cheater rig for sure and it can be a top tier crawler....but only after you have dumped $600 into the truck and another $750 into upgrades. I just think that at that price point, traxxas would have given us better. Even a cheap brushless system. A good servo... They are basically shitting on us and we beg for more.
I haven’t had a crawler before, im more into high speed /basher vehicles and everyone keeps telling me to get a crawler and I don’t know if this would be a good vehicle for starters
You'd be starting out with the best. All downhill from there. Highly recommend starting with a TRX Sport first. Huge aftermarket and half the price. Still very capable and fun. At that point you can decide if you want to take the plunge on the big boy. We started out with some SCX24 micro crawlers and went to Redcat then finally TRXs. I think the Sport is where I should have started to begin with.
hi im going to try to try and fit 2.2 hyrax tyres with the stock rims with 120mm camel shocks do you have any advice for me and would i benefit from the shocks with max droop and the larger tyres or not or just one or the other? thanks
Although they are on backorder, I'm looking to order a Hobbywing Axe 550 combo for my TRX6, I am just unsure on what KV rating to go with. Do you have a suggestion? Thanks!!
Yea and I can't believe I pulled the trigger, its slightly less than that, around 650 or a bit less for a silver version. It's on the way now, see if this would arrive before Christmas.
Awesome video as always! Are you going to do a review on the new Axial SCX24 Chevrolet C10 (Grey and Green)? I am finding that a lot of the aftermarket parts for the other SCX24 trucks don't fit or have to be modded to fit. I think the C10 is a little longer or shaped differently from the other SCX24 models?
I am planning to get the hobbywing axe 550 for my trx6, so in order to change the pinion for a 15 tooth one(as you advise) , do i have to change the spur gear too?
I’d love to get a TRX6 6x6, but the $600 price tag is holding me back. I’m sure a lot of the price is because it’s a Mercedes. If they drop the price to the $450-$475 range then I’ll think more about getting one. The special edition Snap-On TRX6 that’s only available through Snap-On dealers with the purchase of a $6,000 tool box is a lot more enticing because it has a flatbed already built into it. If my dad’s dealer can get us a Snap-On edition TRX6 then I’ll go that route. Although it probably would cost around $1,300.
Exactly. And then the radio, motor and electronics have to be upgraded right away to realize the potential of this vehicle. Really a $1k beast. Traxxas should lower the price or set it up right from the beginning.
I love mine it really is a good unit of course the electronics got tossed almost immediately for better ones but most rtr electronics are trash anyways

I couldn't get an approach to a good line. The stock servo would only turn the tires if the truck was moving. What a piece of shit. Useless junk.
The stock tires do good but if your going to use it as a serious crawler then be ready to dump some $$
Today I ordered proline krawler tires, metal beadlocks and proline 2 stage foam.
Love mine but I agree with you about the radio 👍
What brushless system did u run on this vehicle and what gears did you use. I’m trying to make it a little bit faster?
Great video, this one or the SXC10 3 will be my next purchase.
Does it comes with 3 diff locks??
Just two.
@@RCReviewChannel thx.. that means only the front and centre diffs have the locker?
Kuya bibile ko nyan. Kaya ba yan ng fusion pro 2800 o axe 550 talaga?
I haven’t had a crawler before, im more into high speed /basher vehicles and everyone keeps telling me to get a crawler and I don’t know if this would be a good vehicle for starters
You'd be starting out with the best. All downhill from there. Highly recommend starting with a TRX Sport first. Huge aftermarket and half the price. Still very capable and fun. At that point you can decide if you want to take the plunge on the big boy.
We started out with some SCX24 micro crawlers and went to Redcat then finally TRXs.
I think the Sport is where I should have started to begin with.
still on my to buy list alont with the Unimog 6x6.
We have both and are stoked!
Can it fit a summit 770 motor?
no. tight in there.
I like that you say it as it is
Too many 'reviewers' are afraid to say anything negative.
hi im going to try to try and fit 2.2 hyrax tyres with the stock rims with 120mm camel shocks do you have any advice for me and would i benefit from the shocks with max droop and the larger tyres or not or just one or the other?
thanks
Although they are on backorder, I'm looking to order a Hobbywing Axe 550 combo for my TRX6, I am just unsure on what KV rating to go with. Do you have a suggestion? Thanks!!
3300kv for sure. And a 15t pinion. All our running video is done with that combo.
I would love to have one of these but here in the uk it is 700 pound
Yea and I can't believe I pulled the trigger, its slightly less than that, around 650 or a bit less for a silver version. It's on the way now, see if this would arrive before Christmas.
Ok Fran, a Trx6 or a 10.3?
yes just yes
TRX6 for sure. fi you want to maximize fun.
Element enduro pls
Working on it.
For sure yes!!!!
Just bought one
Do you know anywhere I can get that 550 axe combo everywhere is on backorder except Amazon and they want 300$ for it.
Holy moly!!!!!
I am planning to get the hobbywing axe 550 for my trx6, so in order to change the pinion for a 15 tooth one(as you advise) , do i have to change the spur gear too?
Don't have to change the spur gear. 15t is the biggest you can go without changing the spur. Top speed will be 24mph.
@@RCReviewChannel thanks a million :)
I bought one I did all upgrades
Traxxas should lower the price or set it up right from the beginning.
this channel is great ty for the info
lexan bumpers suck i cut and added a traxxas something rear bumber and a metal one i found on wish looks and handles great very little hangups
Really appreciate that.
I love mine , upgraded the servo and wheels and tires 🤗🍺
Very nice!
It's a Chinese tech made ?
i find the trx4 g500 wagon ugly as hell but i have a really sweet spot for the trx6 g500 wagon
Great video
Thank you. It needed to be said!
Agree electronics sux
Fusion Pro what a difference
Servo is too weak, but the power of this TRX-6 is absolutly enough for me.
I love mine it really is a good unit of course the electronics got tossed almost immediately for better ones but most rtr electronics are trash anyways
Yup! What motor and electronics did you go with?
I love my trx6 !
I wish I had one !
