Ron is a Guitar God. Someday, Everyone will realize. He seems rather Humble & a NON Rockstar Egoic Type also. Even better. Guys got the total innovative, creative package. Thanks 4 being U, & inspiring Us All.
@Brett S. That last song you listened to by that musical artist you love so much had compression. And the one before that. And the 10,000 others you listened to before that.
The best pedalboard setup that I have ever seen. Sounds GREAT! I love Bumblefoot and I have been following his career for decades now! Match made in heaven!
I have played and sang live some tunes with Ron for the purpose of some seminars. I will always remember those moments. Very happy to see you again even in youtube, feels a bit like the classes. What an amazing person, teacher and musician. Be well man and take care!!
An interesting argument for the compressor. I'll throw compressors on recorded guitar tracks, but I haven't actually used a compressor pre-drive in a while. Might have to.
One month later, and i don't ever want a board without a compressor ready to go. I don't use it all the time, but i love the option. Run it into the Dark Matter, roll down the tone knob, and you've got that smooth, creamy Santana thing going. Love it.
I was watching this until the bit where he set the amp dirty and added some tape delay sim, but I began hunting plugins for tape delay and had the video still running. Then he added the reverb and it really caught my ear and had me tabbing back to the video. I really like the sound of the Catalinbread Topanga for spring reverb and their Talisman for plate, but that HOF thing sounds pretty bloody good and does both plus more. My next pedals will be DIY fuzz and treble booster though, so I can get some practice before I attempt to build the amp I have some parts for. Then I want a Belle Epoch Deluxe before deciding on reverb, which reminds me -- he said tape delay is dark. Analog BBB is kind of dark in a nice way, but reel tape delay can be quite bright I think (pun intended). Not as bright as pristine digital repeats can be though. It's the preamp and authentic EP3 circuitry part of the BED that I want most tbh, but damn it's pricey. Fair enough though. There is a lot going on with that thing, where as so many pedals are pretty much plugins in a box these days. Not that that's a bad thing mind you. p.s. I heard this guy was really ill in a life threatening way. Always good to see people bounce back to good health. I know what poor health is like for sure with my messed up spine that just wipes me out on a regular basis. Just feeling okay for a change is the most valuable thing in the world in these situations. Easy to tell if I am ill or feeling better by how much I am playing guitar. If I feel okay I will play until my fingertips are munted, because I know it might be a while before I can play again. All the best to him.
I saw Ron play in Auckland, New Zealand in 2007 with Guns N Roses and have been a fan ever since. To win this pedal board would be a dream come true. Im keeping my fingers crossed until then.
this is the exact thing I’ve been personally struggling with. Love you guys, just got a Mojomojo 6 months ago, fantastic pedal underrated by far!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was very very interesting. I haven't own never a guitar pedal, but i do have line6 helix and frfr. Bumbelfoot is one the all time best guitarist in this planet. What a inspiration is that dude 🤘🎸
I didn't know about Ron Thal! His approach is so logical & snobless. Best pdl board vid I've seen. I'll keep an ear out for this very Intelligent, thoughtful player. -- & btw: I bought the mimiq . . a Must Have.
I play a Strat most of the time. I leave a Boss CS-3 on all of time. It is my only must have pedal. It thickens up a Strat so much. I have an Xotic compressor, but I’m not as in love with it.
What is compression? Compression simply is - makes sounds that are too loud softer, and makes sounds that are too soft louder. This can be good for clean guitar, acoustic and classical guitar, keys, and mastering but for me as a guitarist (when not playing tapping stuff, classical or acoustic ), I want as much dynamics as possible. If your tapping a lot, compression can make a big difference especially clean tapping.
Bumblefoot fu%king rocks ! Really just for the first time heard your music and it freaken rocks ! Love the TC Electronic tones your rig puts out ! Also dig your double neck ! What guitar maker or guitar builder crafted that bitchen double neck ? Is that a Paul Reed Smith custom shop guitar ? Baddass guitar for sure ! I will be following your music ! Awesome TC Electronic signal chain set-up in the Bumbleboard !
Can you explain in depth the use of the compressor that Bumblefoot use? Or even a toneprint Im confused because at first says "Quick attack and release" an then later low attack and release
Ron Thal, aka Bumblefoot, legendary guitarist of Sons of Apollo, Asia, Art of Anarchy, and ex guitarist of Guns ‘n Roses, is doing an online INTERACTIVE live masterclass with Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp!! I can’t believe I get to meet him live. There are only limited spots available so make sure to get your tickets quick! www.rockcamp.com/masterclass.php
Not many players can get away with using a double-neck these (let alone one with a fretless), not without looking like a twat. Great pedalboard. The Quintessence can be set up to do some of the octaver/whammy duties, it just takes a bit of mucking around with toneprint, but I understand why he went with the Brainwaves (I always go pitch-shift>drive, but who am I to argue with the mighty 'Foot). Major props for choosing a Vibrato! Misunderstood effect.
I just wish Ron would get MORE logical. (EX: does he really need headstocks on both necks? I'd want the doubleneck to be HALF the weight, and much smaller (3/4?) and headless of course. MORE EFFICIENT.)
Terry Brookshire Depends on how your mental orientation is visualized. He’s probably going from left to right like when we read or write. That being said, where the ins and outs are placed on the pedals will dictate the easiest layout direction, so...

Nice explanation about the compresser.

@@terrymiller111 Your comment is correct and utterly irrelevant.
The pedalboard sounds fantastic 👏🏽 and Ron is an INSANELY good guitarist. Really enjoyed the video 🤟🏼

Ron is pretty cool. Good sense of humor and a killer guitarist.
That dark matter keeps your guitars natural tone so well. It’s a plexi in a box, amazing little thing. The OCD is a fraction better .
Loved this demo of all the pedals. Finally realized the potential of my current pb. Thanks Bumblefoot and TC!

Jonathan Killstring I’ve been messing with them the last couple weeks, it’s nuts. Try it out

Everything he does is magic

I love Bumble's playful sense of humour. It really comes through in his playing. Sons of Apollo MMXX is awesome!
There’s nobody out there like Ron. So wild.

Awesome - TC Electronic definitely some of the best quality pedals.
Attack and release. Yup. Love this board!

Hey TC, your musical stuff is great as always, but some of the video focusing stuff is not as good as TC could be. Could you please look into it?!
Awesome pedal board.
Fingers crossed for this perfectly amazing board
Very cool man!!!!! Greetings from Italy 🇮🇹
Excellent Video !!!! Thank You TC Electronics for showing me Bumblefoot
Great video Ron is awesome
That’s a beauty pedalboard 👌🏼 i want it 👌🏼🙌🏼
Sweet board! Bumblefoot kicks some serious booty! Oh how I would love to get my hands on this board. :D
People lie and say they don’t use compressors 🤘Don’t have to kill the signal with too much distortion. Compressor helps to ride the sweet spot.
Honestly this is like my dream pedalboard...
15:40 Freewill babe! Haha

Cool video, TC and Bumblefoot! In the future, could you mic up the amp properly? I would love to hear the amp directly mic'ed!
Followed the instructions and sent the email. Hopefully I will win. Thanks for the opportunity.
TC Effectss produce best professional's tone. Well presented accordingly.
Love Ron a very interesting cool guy
TC Electronic is rad!!!
Cool sounding board!
So magically magical !
Good on the compressor. The heart of guitar tone is in the midrange. Comp focuses that.
Forget the board - I want a fretless guitar!

Quick attack and release setting IS low. If he wanted longer attack and release he would turn the knobs up.
Don Makoviney oooooohh thank you
