    Dude! Congratulations man! You’re over the mountain and almost in the clear! The worst of it is definitely behind you. I just hit 3 months the other day and I can tell you that my suboxone journey feels like ancient history. Besides a bit of occasional mild depression here and there, I’m completely asymptomatic and back to my old self again! Stay strong buddy, we’re proud of you man and here if you need support.

      Sean hey I have a question..... you properly tapered and well I just dropped cold Turkey. My acute phase lasted 12 days I would say. After day 4 there was improvement each and everyday. I definitely had lack of motivation, night sweats, and insomnia for longer than 12 days but the chills, gooseflesh, diarrhea etc chilled out and I really felt like subs had cleared my system around day 12. When did you feel like you cleared the acute phase and what when was the 1st day you felt like you turned a corner.

    • @hussycaboose
      @hussycaboose 5 років тому +1

      @@jessicapercoski9599 Hey, honestly it is hard to say. the first 3 days were the absolute worst, but when I was expecting it to get worse after day 3, it never did. the acute phase lingered until day 8-10 wish but it was less and less each day. At the time it was horrible, but not as bad as I had expected and definitely not the classic suboxone horror story you hear about. I was going on 2 mile jogs by day 4 (feeling like I was dying but pushing through) which made me feel exponentially better. But there were ups and downs and for a while i would feel like id take a step forward and then two steps back the next day... That maybe lasted for 2 months...but like I've said in the past, I also quit a 25 year pack a day cigarette habit at the exact same time so that may have exacerbated things a bit. 3 months later, I feel great. every once in a while I'll get a random chill or sneeze 6 times in a row, but aside from that I'm 100% haha so I guess I really felt out of the "constant" acute phase between 8-10 days but 30 days is when I started to really feel better and 60 days for the motivation to come back naturally without having to force myself. Overall, it sucked, but when done correctly it is ABSOLUTELY manageable. anyone can go through it but taper or not, you'll have to pay the piper for the prior abuse...the taper will just greatly reduce the suffering.

    • @jessicapercoski9599
      @jessicapercoski9599 5 років тому

      Sean, I can't believe you quit smoking too....I'm currently working on that one but I'm actually trying to do it right and taper :) its wild that the timeline is similar considering how low you got down before you jumped. Clearly extremely different experiences because I definitely wasn't running on day 4 lol but I could by day 10 or 12. My anxiety was real bad on days 5 and 6 I probably would've stroked out if I had tried. Either way in really happy that you are doing so well. Its gotta feel so good to have that monkey off your back!

    Yes man, I had loose stools for a month at least but it has gone back to normal twice a day shittin after some time. The body will get back to normal, as you know it’s an amazing thing! The fact that are a fitness buff is a big thing in your recovery brotha! I stayed active in my early recovery and withdrawal and it helped tons! Keep it up! It’s cliche as hell man but recovery is a rollercoaster ride man. I experienced severe ups and downs in early recovery. I do push-ups when I am anxious it helps. The serotonin and other brain chemicals are trying to even themselves out, and they surge one way and you feel on top of the world, then they plummet and I hit extreme lows. I really just continued telling myself it was normal and found ways to cope on thise down days. I still have bad days 19 months off methadone, I am just coping much better now with some time clean. My testosterone has definitely come back! I started being able to grow a beard and my body completely changed. The sensitivity in bed man, that also will go away and you will be your old self again! All I can say is enjoy those amazing early recovery orgasms while you can! Pretty much everything will return to normal it just takes you buying your body and mind the time it needs to heal! Be patient with yourself bro. Don’t be surprised if the anxiety lasts for a while or you start feeling bad on some days, in my experience at least it’s normal. You’re sharing your story man and I always say, if 1 person takes something from one of my videos and it helps them, awesome ya know? Obviously everyone has different journeys in life, addiction and recovery but sharing your story will help many people brotha! I appreciate what you are doing and have much respect for your courage in sharing your story! People didn’t believe I was even in withdrawal on a couple of my first videos because I was so damn motivated and just manned up and wasn’t laying in bed dying. I was ready and I will never go back man because I knew it was the only choice for me and continue to know that the rough days are worth the beautiful thing called recovery! Keep kicking ass man and please keep sharing the truth, both the good and the bad! Peace and love bro! ✌🏼❤️

      I feel ya there. I am taking 1.5 mg now and it hit me like 5 days into tapering from 2 mg and I am in so much pain my teeth ugh...I got an appt for the dentist and I refuse to go back up to 2 mg because of my tooth pain. I think its important that once you start that lower dose stick with it and refuse to go back up. I plan to stay at 1.5 until I adjust for a period of time and the WD is over. Even if I gotta stay at 1.5 for 2 months I will do that. It's still progress IMO. I want to feel human again and unfortunately I gotta experience the discomfort and psychological suffering but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Its nice that we can do it at our own pace and on our own time. I quit cold turkey and was never successful so I plan to take my time.

    Thanks for continuing to share .. I got excited when I saw your post because i was wondering how the last few days have been going for you. Hell yea about skipping leg day when dealing with the restless legs lol can't imagine dealing with that combination!!! Keep pushing through you have come so far. I struggle with having control of my meds while trying to come off... exactly like you said if ur having a bad day it's way to easy to just take it even if u really don't need it. I tried having my husband hold mine for me a bunch of times..hes on them too but he isn't tapering... but then I just keep harassing him to give me one even when I don't really need one so I stopped with that and am trying to work on controlling myself. @11:00 1. Your sex drive will return to normal over the next 12 months. Get your test checked twice in two weeks to get an accurate average level. After you stop opioids your test will return to normal but sometimes it takes up to a year. 2. You have to remember our brain takes time to return to normal when it comes to creating and releasing correct amounts of endorphins/dopamine but it will "reboot" and gradually become normal again. 3. Expect to take about a year all around to get back to normal guys. It is not automatic in any way.

    Suboxone withdrawal is not that bad at all, you really need to taper down. I tried once without tapering...I had minor effects but at days 6-7 It was rather uncomfortable. With tapering it is really not bad at all, u can jump off at 2mg....but it is better to taper for 6months with ur last script and for 2/3months with the one before..it will as if nothing went wrong. Dedicate 2 scripts and stay focus. After wards eat healthy I also tried Kratom.

      I have been taking about 6 mgs past month and a half and want to stop this early as possible. Now honestly. When you stopped, by day 5, were you really in severe withdrawal or was most of it because of the horror stories people post and anxiety based more than actual withdrawal? Being completely serious here as im curious and do not want to be on this stuff anymore

      @@SAMEntalhealththe withdrawals are majorly intense on day 5. The worst symptoms don’t usually kick in until days 3-5, but it’s rough AF the entire time. If u sleep at night during the process, consider urself blessed. Many many many people can’t even sleep a wink because of the intense restless legs, but that same pain is in ur arms. You’re tired, upset stomach, weak, fatigued, drained, flu symptoms, back pain, but the restless legs is by far the worst part because you’re so tired and having to work but you have zero energy and don’t feel like you’ll ever recover because you’re not sleeping at all. It’s terrible

    I'm just letting you know I did a very long taper down to .25mg every other day, and I'm currently on day 65 with symptoms only just starting to go away. It's a really really long process buckle in because i convinced myself itd only take a month which was not the case & very discouraging.

      @@kericollins8894 typical withdrawal symptoms. I'm currently at day 71 and the physical symptoms have gone away. The thing that lingered the longest were the cold sweats / lethargy, but it's been improving as I started working again. Keeping your mind and body occupied help a ton, and I'm definitely grateful I tapered. My biggest complaint through the withdrawal process was not symptom intensity but symptom duration. My withdrawal was never like full blown H withdrawal the symptoms are much more tolerable but the duration of symptoms begins to wear you down by day 30+.

    Possibly check out info on Kratom rather than falling back on subs if it becomes dire. It’s honestly done incredible things for me in my recovery off opiates. Natural, similarities in properties on receptors. Hit me up if you have any questions. I’d like to get your take on the diet and nutrition aspect in recovery. Personally I’m building from the ground up.

    I had zero stomach issues when I had went off Suboxone cold turkey. It felt like the worst flu I had ever had and the biggest problem was a lack of energy. It lasted for almost 3 months, or so it seemed. In reality it was probably only about 6 weeks. I really enjoy exercising and with as tired as I was, it was hard enough to go to work! Even though I would always feel better after a good hard workout. The other thing that bothered me was how easily I would start crying. This lasted for about 3 to 4 weeks. I am currently on about 4-6mg/day, even though I am subscribed 8mg(I like to keep a stockpile, for emergencies, as we all do). Suboxone really suppresses the production of testosterone and when I was on it, even at 8 mg, I was still horny all of the time. After I went cold turkey I was super horny all of the time. Now I am on testosterone replacement therapy.
