- This free masterclass takes an in-depth look at PitchLoop89, a new device introduced in Live 11.
The two-part series features Robert Henke, one of the creators of Ableton Live and PitchLoop89. Henke was inspired to create PitchLoop89 by the rare Publison DHM 89 pitch-shifting delay from the '70s. In this series, Henke discusses the unique features of this rare effects unit, how it inspired its software counterpart and using PitchLoop89 for sound design.

Thank you Robert for being inspired to lovingly create your own software version of the rare Publison DHM 89 pitch-shifting delay and then share it with us!! It sounds completely unique, lush and from another dimension!! Looking forward to experimenting with 😊
Probably the most interesting delay ever
Cut my legs and call me shorty! That's what I call a great plug-in - Thanks, Henke!
What an under-rated MAX device! This is so damn cool. Nice presentation of the device and the hardware it was inspired from. I will definitely use this going forwards
robert henke the legend 🤝🤝 sick video
Thank you, Ableton Team for such inspiring devices, user-friendly DAWs, engaging educational videos with a special atmosphere and taste. Stay healthy and take care of yourself!
Love it!
I LOVE this device. You nailed it Robert. This walk-through/showcasing was Fabulous. Thanks a lot!
Thank you for this! I really love using PL89
Magnifique présentation, c'est une superbe device. Merci Robert pour l'explication détaillé de chaque control. J'adore et j'enregistre cette vidéo précieusement.
Beautiful demo, Robert Henke does such a wonderful job demonstrating how to hack all his creations. I still remember studying his Operator demo video and getting obsessed with FM.
Right on! Great videos! 🤘😼🤘
Thanks for creating such an amazing plugin!
Wow. I never knew the capabilities of this device. definitely been playing with it for days now. Thanks Robert.
Robert does it again! thanks for your ideas
It's beautifully implemented!
Thank you for this Robert.

This dude = inspiration
Oh my god man this is so damn cool, I feel blessed! :D
fun to watch keep safe amazing keep it up
Wow this is really nice, I had the Publison Infernal Machine at home which had amazing pitch shifting as well, next to it’s reverbs and delays. I did sell that amazing piece of history, but it‘s impulse responses were captured in Altiverb before I sold the device and using it regularly in software form now. Obviously only the (amazing!!!) reverbs and delays were captured, missing out on the pitch shifting. Have not upgraded to the latest version of Live yet, but this makes me eager to upgrade from Live 10 having a complete virtual Publison on my by now also ancient Mac Pro cheese grater, wonderful! Well done mr Henke!
Nice!
still love your work!!
"one of the ableton folks" hahah he co-created ableton, humble guy
i'm gonna go ahead and need that shirt
that was fking gangsta.
Great presentation
At times it sounds a bit like the eqd rainbow machine
would love to control other parameters than only pitch shift by MIDI (too)
23:29 I AM IIIIRON MAAAAAN
how do i create that stutter effect at minute 18:42? if i place this on a synth i would love to automate a stutter, pitched effect at the end of a chord or stab.
sounds like jon hassel sax
paul rudy vibes
Thank you so much for putting your attention into this masterclass, I'm really enjoying it. Now would it have been too much to ask someone to grab a glass of water for Robert so I'm not hearing him smack his lips for an hour? (Maybe I'll use the headphones just for the audio demos or put it through better speakers...actually, still pretty bad even through computer speakers)

Lush
Abba sold a billion records because of this device
My point proven, real pros use computer keys.
Time for MPE keys.
