I really like this format with the themed board, and hope you'll repeat it. It's fun going in-depth on one pedal but hearing how the whole chain interacts is informative in a different way. Either way, keep doing you because believe me it's working! :)
I love this dude, I think if I could hang out with him then I'd probably have a sweet life-- even my lousy work life would be bearable. Great tones, great tunes, great humor.
@@StompboxBreakdown I've noticed you're having fun with little production bonuses like the fun graphics packages, too. Making music is the best-- start with nothing, end up in a little world with its own atmosphrere and surf your way through it. Music does make it all better, we're all lucky to have something like it. Keep on making the vids, you're good at it. I always smash the like button on your stuff because it's always a quality production, only channel I always hit it for. This channel could do some fun stuff as it grows.
Been watching you from your very first video. This video, you crossed a new threshold, so comfortable, relaxed, really in your own skin being you, and that same relatable, easy, casual delivery that has kept me here all along. You’re kicking so much ass! Super fun video, over way too soon, loved the funk jam! ✌️😌🎸
Cool beans! I put the Belle Epoch Deluxe at the end of my chain as well and REALLY like it. There are so many sounds in it... can be overwhelming at times... but if you're looking for Funkadelic-era pysch funk, this is the ticket. Beyond the super fun EP-3, the other delays have lovely movement and depth that are a lot easier to manage with a TRP cable and volume controller. Redundant for this rig, obviously, but a heck of a lot of fun. Good stuff!
I am BEGGING you to make the triple strymon five Boss RV-6 board; jk, loved the video and getting a peek into your real-world playing scenarios and priorities. Funk is forever.
Hey, on the Roland Jazz Chorus front - I have a JC-40 and it is amazing. Plays well at low volumes but it still can roar. In fact, I play mine in the house at between 1 and 2 on the volume dial! Thanks for the detailed look at the Joyo power supply. It may be just what I need for my second board I want to throw together. Cheers!
I've heard really good things about those JC-40's. I snagged this JC-120 in dang-near-new condition for an absolute steal of a price. There's something about a solid state amp that *isn't* trying to be a modeler. Highly recommend the Joyo power supply, good luck on your second board.
Funking fantastic! But seriously, great video. And who cares if the Belle Epoch Deluxe is overkill for a bit of slap back delay? Funkadelic didn't care about overkill!
I like that board size, with the extra space bottom to top, instead of a longer board. Cool board for many genres, really. I’d go with an envelope filter, and/or an auto wah, as well. There are some that do both. A real wah is a must, but an auto wah, can sound unique too. I’ve used the newest Snark tuners, when they come out, since I ever saw them. I think I owned the first or second version, that they released. I remember them getting a lot better, about 12 yesrs ago, and I’ve always had them. Others I’ve played with, have asked for it, even some who had a pedal tuner. I’ve gigged with them for a long time. I keep it on the guitar, or in my pocket, during the gig. It stays in my case, off the guitar, if not. Never lost one. I’ve lost others, that weren’t any good when in a full band mix, live. The Snark has always worked, and I can tune, even with 100db+ of band around me.
Thanks! I actually got a Neutrino for the video and decided one pedal had to go, and... that was it. Super fun pedal, though, but like you said, the Wah is the real must. I'm really surprised at how far the Snark tuners have come. I remember the first ones, and I remember reading an article about the tech in them on reverb.com. I know they've gotten a lot better, and I know some pro players who swear by them. I'm also *very* good at putting something down and then forgetting where I put it down 10 seconds later. It's probably a me thing.
Nice! I'm digging how you vary your content like this. Great stuff, Jeff. It's interesting how refreshing one's music can become simply after taking a walk to the end of the street and back. ;) Hey, thanks for the encouragement at the end of the video. I've been in quite the creative funk (not the good kind) for a long time, so Ima taking your words to heart. Again, thanks. Btw, how do you like the CX-5? I'm considering a Mazda for my next vehicle.
Thanks! CX-5 is good, it's lasted us 9 or so years with no problems. Not a terribly exciting vehicle, but it fits a lot and is my main vehicle during the winter months.
@@StompboxBreakdown Thanks for the mini review of the Mazda! Researching cars is an exhausting endeavor, so it's always nice to hear real-world experience. Btw, unrelated to cars, do you offer merch? I'd be down to wear a Stompbox Breakdown tshirt.
Hawaiian Pizza has been on my wish list for a bit. I used to be in love with MXR's Phase 45 (well, still am) but when I got a Small Stone... damn that thing is chewy...
I just grabbed that JOYO power supply for fun , just to try out. IT IS SO AWESOME. DId a little test.. A mostly Boss pedal board ( 8 pedals all engaged ) lasted about 7.5 hours!! That's including an RV-6 and a Tera Echo! I have doubts that it's fully isolated, and might hesitate to use it with high current draw, digital pedals...but for your standard stompbox pedalboard..what an absolute gem! 55 bux?!? I mean c'mon man. ( :
I tested it out when some heavy duty stuff (whammies, geckoplex, older Digitech stuff) and it didn’t seem to get warm or anything. But yeah, I wouldn’t run it near peak.
@@StompboxBreakdown Hey btw... The reason I ended up trying out the JOYO power supply was because recently, I picked up their "Guitto pedalboard" and they recommended the JP-05. The Guitto pedalboard is also unbelievably cool. No velcro! the pedals are held in place by these little "fixture blocks" . It's fantastic..very high quality. Plus the JP-05 fits underneath like a glove. Just thought you might be interested. Love the channel.
Funny you should mention it... I've been picking up new material for the first time in about a year. LIttle Sunflower by Freddie Hubbard and Short Trip Home by Edgar Meyer.
Thais week i bought a Behringer de wah synth Voice wah wah auto by us$33 Its interesting tô play together with a synth pedal. And I bought a Behringer hell wah (clone of Dunlop wah dimebag) for us$30, cause i have some GAS. And I want tô buy the pedal Meteoro Revolution with is valvulate, but its better not buy to dont feed the GAS, and use the money to Go out with girls tô motel. Its better than buy and buy things. Thanks for checking it out! Yeah, there's a lot more to be done with delay, but I'm keeping it simple for this one (for now)
Wow, nice pedals. My chain: G&L Legacy (Strat 3S) + Tuner + Dunlop Cry Baby + MXR Custom Comp + EHX Soul Food + Triangle Big Muff + MXR Analog Chorus + MXR Phase 90 + Fender Deluxe 90 DSP W/Reverb.

Awesome board and killer tone, great job, man! 👍👍
Thanks for the help!! This was a fun one to put together. Love that power supply
As a bass player, I have to say I dig the beanie look when you play bass.
Thanks. It helps break up the video a little. Also based on my experience, bass players love wearing beanies

I think you can use a power bank as well to charge the joyo power supply

Kind of sounds like the Grateful Dead.
How dare you say that about compressors (the same thing everybody says). *sighs in bass player*
Only a few know the power of a properly set compressor pedal
waste of my time
