As soon as he said “10 cents a piece” I would have been like , get to counting old timer, I’ll take ‘em all 🤝
100% you should have pulled the trigger at $150. The Alf #1 newsstand is a $20 comic. Either way I'm sure they went to a good home. Great video, always like these. Cheers,
I definitely would have bought them all for sure! No questions asked
As soon As he said .10 a piece I woulda been like “SOLD”
Facts!😊
Absolutely!
Same. It was a deal even if it didnt have any keys in it.
As a comic collector, I'd have rolled the dice. Odds are you'd have found a few hundred worth spread over 10 or so comics and then sell the rest for a $1 a piece. It was an easy money maker, something to do during your shops downtime.
$150 was definitely worth the risk
Brother, brother, never ever give up the opportunity to buy comic books. Especially all the ones I saw. At least $5 each and some I saw were in the $20 range. The Spiderman comics are soaring, and the DC Superman and Batman ones are also up there. 1000 X $10 average equals 10,000 smackaroos. After he said 10 cents a comic and he agreed there were about 1000 comics, you should have said ok and paid the 100 bucks, but he noticed he was giving away thousands of dollars and added 50 bucks more. Thats when you tailed back and became confused, because you did have a point, there's alot to sell and lately kids don't read comics, but in the future those comic books will be priceless works of art, and it won't be just 10,000 bucks but way way more. I bought a stack of comics for $20 like right after the Covid days, and just one of those from 1954 turned out to be worth $7150.00 and the others were between 1,200 - 3,800. So I never say no to Comic books.
It kills me every time I watch this video! I still scream buy all of the comics hoping that it might be different 😂
Cool pickups. Thanks for sharing. We appreciate the knowledge. Those comic books were a great hustle for decades. Now, not so much.
The big ones are Spider-Man, Batman, Avengers, X-Men. I saw a lot of fluff that are dollar books, but for .10 a piece....you definitely would have recouped your cost.
10 cents a piece?!?! Spiderman! Superman! Even though it’s 90s comics which aren’t the best, this is a grand slam. $150!!! I nearly fell out my chair.
Which years you consider good ?
@@Keeps- probably 70s and under for the bigger money. But comics over 30+ years old are better to sell. These were 90s comics so close to if not 30 years old. So they would have made thousands of dollars for only $150. It would be a good amount of work but completely worth it in my opinion.
Man Justin if I was there I would have bought all of them 👍🇺🇸 great video thanks
Alfred I just couldn't pull the trigger all I could image was me selling $1 comics for the next 2 years lol
You could of also lotted them on eBay and sold them quicker that way as well. I would’ve bought them also.
Yeah man, def. Worth the buy. If anything through your research you would be paying a minimum admission fee to understand the value of comics. I would of stolen from this man at that price. Plus he said he had more, that was just a small portion. If he really bought a comic book store. It's possible he's got thousands of dollars and not even know it
I'm only halfway through & god i hope you grabbed those for the 150 , That is just insane !!
I've only watched about 15 of your videos and already saw 2 person come in with that stuff bought at a gas station. I have also been approached At a gas station to buy gold. Ty for info.
Comic Books, Star Wars, and Console Games,! $150 Dollars - Take Them All! 🙂😃😁
I loved that you paid him 31 not 30You are a cheap son of a gun but you are honest. Kudos. And yeah I would have bought the box u bought for $100 and the comics 150. Of course easy to say from home. Fun video
Yes Justin you should have bought them comic books
I just don't know too much about them I didn't want have to sell $1 comics for the next 2 years lol
At $150 I would have said take my money!
I'm looking forward to watching this episode. I've bought boxes and boxes of collector comics at estate sales this past year and have probably 5,000+ comics I know nothing about and just need to research the easiest way to sell them for the most money.
I think at 10 cents you would have done all right considering they had boards and clear plastic on them which cost around $.50 each in supplies but the time it takes to list them one at a time would have been too much and you would still have the box of them sitting in your pawn shop. Ebay is the only place I can think of to sell them and mine have been sitting in my Ebay store for years and years that I picked up from an estate sale at 10 cents each without any supplies.
At 10 cents each he would have been able to lot them up and list them really cheap. So they would most likely sell pretty quickly. He would not have made as much if he listed and sold them for every cent they were worth. But they would be gone quick and he would still make good money.
I would have bought the comic's at a 10 cents a piece. That Alf comic book looked awesome. Thanks for sharing Your passion and adventures Brother from Toronto Ontario Canada 😊👍♥️🇺🇸🇨🇦❤️💯💯
I would have got them all for 150. Quick. I would have loved the aliens, and the predator versus Batman. Glad you picked up some anyway
The variety in your clips is cool - you never know what you're going to get: some pawns, some sales, some fakes, some yard sales, some hits, some misses. Keeping the lineup unpredictable makes it more interesting to click the links.
Personally i would've loved to have all these comic books . I probably wouldve offered $300 for all of them being that there so so many of them .
That stack of comics was virtually worthless. I didn't see a single key in that bunch. You made the right move.
Thanks for the comment and knowledge.
Lol he clearly could of gotten more than $150 . Those comics would of been a steal
Those comic books were a bargain.
Would have bought the lot, looked good. I put away some comics new off the rack many years ago and looked at them a few days ago and One was 500.00 one 250.00 and one was 56.00 Had no idea but happiness ensued. All three were first editions. Take care.
Always remember what KENNY said u got to know when to hold em and know when to fold em and know when to walk away and know when to run THE RUN PART APPLIED HERE😅
i would have bought them and of course hate that i did later..buyers remorse lol
At 150 bucks??? Yeah, you should have. Most of the books visible are 5$ dollar books. If you sold them at 1-12 bucks they would have sold fast! It did look like there were a few '70s books in there too. You were using your phone for other items to look up, so you could have for the comics too.
Look forward to these every week
i'd say 90% of it is dollar or 50¢ comics. depending on grade of course. perhaps the last 10% might be worth $5-$25 each. again depending on grade. what you need to know is the key comics and pull those out and look at the spine and corners and wear/tear of them. for modern comics, which most of those are, you need them to be almost near mint to be worth anything. people are more forgiving for older comics pre-1990 as far as condition.
Thanks the the knowledge and comment appreciate it.
Yeah, the problem with 90's comics was they were mostly all bagged and boarded, making them all in good condition. Also the comic craz was in the 90's with Spider-Man, X men, death of Superman 🦸♂️ all on the news and hyped up.
OMG as soon as he said a bunch of marvel comics and Star wars I would have immediately bought all of them, anything Star wars could be worth a lot of money. But yeah he had the comic books and plastic it would have been better if you would have had a cardboard in there with the plastic it looks like he kept real good care of them 💯 man Spider-Man DC marvel most comic books are like gold 💯
yeah I had a lot of comics I sold as I was tripping over the boxes in my room and had no space for them. So I can understand not getting them all.
You should have bought all of em !
People overlook old comic mags like the do vinyl records, I wish I could find some in my area, I'd be real happy. THE SARGE
At .15 a piece? Hell yeah!
You made a good choice my friend.good job
Always a great video 🎉🎉
Thanks again!
My own personal opinion I think you missed an opportunity. That was a pretty good deal that old timer gave you. Maybe next time!
Favorite video of the weekend
Great content u put out & good taste 4 lunch choice! Please give a shout out to Wisconsin if that Cheeseburger w/ real Wisconsin cheese was any good!
The 90's comic market was over saturated but still $150 was well worth that whole collection especially if there was any long runs so you cud divide titles into say 5 or 10 consecutive issues. May have taken a while but u wudda sold them eventually.
Great episode.
keep up the good footage thanks
One thing you did get right... you don't know a lot about comics, heh. Honestly though, no reason to get killed on a purchase when you don't know what you're buying. I wish I could go back and tell myself as a kid to stick to learning about coins and gold/silver instead buying every stupid "collectable" baseball / basketball / etc card under the sun.
For .10 a piece it’s worth it, if you’re willing to put in the time to bag, board, and sell them. You could blow them out at $1 a piece, 11 or more is .50 each. You’d have ‘3’ for awhile but you’d get your money back.
Yes would have brought
At $ 150 is a good deal 🤝 you would have to pick out the keys bulk sell the rest .100 comics for $50 seems to sell very well
My older brother gave away(to Children's Hospital in Oakland) his comic book collections long ago.... just because(he had the first 10 issues of all the big name super hero's...i also had(also gave away) Sgt Rock,Sgt Fury,Witching Hour and a few others I can't seem to recall around the same time frame to Stanford Hospital..just because
Hey man Justin you did good man good video I love all your videos you you do an amazing job keep up the good work man I like to have one of y'all's shirts
I appreciate that!
Has to look up a sealed Rail Baron
Bought just over 200 Batman Superman & captain America. Sealed new. $150. Going through all now. Takes time but I’m already in the positive barely into the box. Price was right.
and this is why I love to go to garage sales....
The Grandpa is classic. I love that generation 😊
I didn't see anything while you were flipping through of any note. The porblem is, people that know pick through them and pull all the good books and leave the junk behind. It may have taken you 20 years, if ever, to sell a bunch of worthless books. The 90's were the most over produced years for comic books and it caused the comic market to crash. There may have been a few keys in there that may have made your money back or more, but what do you do with the other 1,000 no one wants?
Thank You for the comment that's about what I thought. Once again thanks for the comment and the advice and watching the video.
Agreed. Unless a NM 98, Batman Adventures 12, or ASM 361 was in there, it probably isnt worth it
If nothing else, it would have been worth it just to read them.
Rule of thumb with comics: if it is 1995 or later stay away. There are some valuable stuff beyond 1995 but not worth the risk. Even the 1990s only have 3 standout books: Batman Adventures 12, New Mutants 98, and Cerebus 1. But any silver age (12-15 cent cover price) or golden age (10 cent cover price) is worth the risk depending on price and condition
He had batman adventures in there, i def would have checked for a Harley Quinn 1st app
I would have picked up the comics at .10 a piece
that old dude is a riot LUL
At 10 cents a book it’s worth it id always buy at that price
My grandma used to say that's when two fools met and one parted
It would take time, space & alot of work but yes you could have made easy a few hundred dollars on Whatnot selling the books is where you could have squeezed everything you can out of it the quickest
Im a comiccollector. I only saw one key book Alf #1 yet they were All Bag An Boarded. Thats half the battle 100 for the lot would have been a deal but like i said i didnt see any keys.
I would love that gold 1 ounce gold buffalo coin!
I see someone with a phone at my sale, i will pop up my own at my own sale. Lol
Especially now that you’re on whatnot, they would have sold good on there
😂😂😂 sometimes a wrong person is in the right place...too bad...
Yes a new video
Appreciate it Kevin
You know and I know any major or minor keys were plucked out of that collections long ago. I also know that even though I was nowhere near that deal, that dude flinging around his open coffee mug had me nervous just watching this!
Yes that Indian coin is so pretty 🙂
Yes you should have bought the comics!! it would have been well worth your time and money. 😎
Awesome content
In my opinion buddy, you should bought that comic book lot for the $150! In the first 150 comic books if sold for $1.00 each, you would have made your money back and the rest was pure profit no matter how long it would have taken you to sell them. I'm sure there would a few minor key issues in that lot. If I were you, I'd go back and buy the lot.
i would have paid that 10 cents a book. the increase in profit is just the time. i never see comics at yard sales from my area.
i saw that punisher comic, pretty sure its worth 40 bucks alone. predator at 10:42 is worth about 20 bucks
It would have been worth the risk could have been a few good 90s comics you never know what you could find in a collection plus he said some of them are signed
I wish for these kinds of oppourtunites to find a Batman adventures 12 or something
bought for sure
mounting boards alone were worth .10 each. The comics were free and slabbed for storage. A no brainer. They would definitely not go down in value from FREE! I would have snap called that offer. AND you never know there could have been some sleepers in there. For free I would be loading them up.
A nother good day 😊
Thats a great deal man if you ask me.
I would have paid $300 no questions. There are probably 10-50 single issues that would make you your money back. Then make 10, “100 count” mystery boxes and sell them for $50-$100.
125$ for all those comics i would have jumped on them lol
Buy them all
If you could get them for 10 cents you could make a profit by just putting a dollar bin or two in the store.
You made the RIGHT call not buying them - Those 1990s comics are worthless and you saved yourself alot of valuable time not buying them.
I agree! All the keys I’m sure have already been picked through. As a collector it’s a solid pickup, as a flipper it’s a terrible investment unless you strictly deal with comics.
Pops handled that fugazi stuff like a gentleman & champ! Some folks tails get real bushy when they take it on the chin with their gas station TREASURES. Comics need be graded 4 BETTER & faster flips.
As soon as I saw Alf #1 I started getting major anxiety 😊
#80 Like 👍 ! Should have bought the comics and sold them to a comic shop for double or way more quick !
I would f definitely bought them at a dime a piece could of sold them for a buck and made $ 850...
And that was a lot of comic books could have made good money all of them but it might have took you a long time I agree
Love the videos
I would’ve gotten them!
150 was a steal. To bad you passed
Yea I woulda rolled the dice on the comics I have graded ones worth thousands … and comic collecting is adddictive like a drug for some people
Good stuff
Heck yes, for 150 I would have bought them
My guess would be 777 comic books Total, man I would of gave him $300 for all of them😂
