Absolutely! All of Taliesin's characters are my absolute favorites - so multidimensional with flaws that are fascinating to see explored! And so satisfying to see who Percy has become over the years while still keeping the essence of who he is.
@@birdscritters Right?! A man who went through loads and loads pain, having inner piece while also being even more mature then he previously was is right down amazing
I remember in an interview before the final episode of C1 Taliesin saying he was tempted to play to Percy's damage and while that would have been justified, it was so much better to give him a 'happy' ending and make a canvas for so wonderful future storytelling.
@@birdscritters they are the least clishee characters for sure in the bunch, not that the rest is not lovable as hell, but the unpredictability of Tals is intruiging on another level
Great observation! Makes me remember how Percy went off at Vax for rushing into save Cassandra - always someone to think and pause before acting. Also shows what kind of leader he is of Whitestone, someome who hears anyone out before calmly responding.
I seen someone say this before but both of them are assuming something about the other. Ashton is assuming Percy cant have gone through pain because he is so rich and Percy thinks Ashton cant have gone through pain because he is so young
That is such an interesting way to look at it but so perfectly sums up those two characters! 👏 Now what would happen if you throw Molly and Cad into the mix?
@@bdletoast09 I don't think Percy is being hypocritical. He was being very straightforward with Ashton about Delilah coming back being the sticking point. She brutally murdered most of his family, tortured him, brainwashed his sister, helped Vecna in many ways, and in general is a danger to the world just by existing. His absolute refusal to give her the slightest chance to return makes sense. Of course, Ashton knows none of this, so all he see is a stubborn, wealthy man refusing to let his friend be resurrected. His frustration is completely understandable given he doesn't know many facts. This is why I find both men to be right - with the information each has at hand.
A long time watching his close friend play the character, time thinking about it when putting together the campaign guide and I'm sure quite a few sleepless nights leading up to this game 😉
This scene is soooo good. Taliesin has all my respect for being able to antagonize so well his own character and Matt gets all my love for being so true to his friend's character.
I still think it is one of the best scenes in the show's history! I also hope that as we are seeing Ashton change and grow, we get another conversation between these two 😊
I love it, specially because both characters are from the same player. You can see that both characters had similar backgrounds, both had horrible lifes, and were so full with resentment and anger... But at the same time, being so alike, they are SO different Dx Even in the way they both comunicate, Percy is more refined and elegant, while Ashton just curses every two words x'D I preffear ashton tbh, but, this was so fun to watch!! Specially because both characters have their reasons to do what they did, it wasn't forced, it was really organic... At least for me... Also, when Ashton is screaming about how hard his life was, and how much the universe hate him i was like "Dude, you don't even know about how hard percy's life was... I know what you mean, but he had a life as has hard as yours, or even worse..." Amazing interaction between taliesin and taliesin (?) xD
Unfortunately with Bad News involved I don't know if Ashton would even get close to Percy... But I do really want to see a 3 way Battle Royale with VM v MN v BH
Thanks ☺️ I'm totally the same - especially with the first two campaigns and one of the reasons I was first inspired to start this was because I was watching so many of what others were doing. Let me know what you want to see more of 😉
@@TimpanistMoth_AyKayEll oh yes, so many interesting little hints! I'll look into it as a bigger project while C3 is on a break. Because I'm only half way through C2 (although I do know some spoilers) I'll probably not watch the reunion just yet.
It's funny looking back on this. At 4:33 Percy says he doesn't want his children to grow up in a world where Delilah exists. Meanwhile the very person the BH are trying to rez does exactly that. In Whitestone no less.

Taliesin is such a gem. So is Matt for absolutely perfecting Percy as a character against Ashton

the way matt holds so perfectly still during taliesin's speech is so incredibly percy

Hearing Ashton vent out to Percy was such a pleasure to witness.
I've always thought of Taliesin as the president of the "talking shit about Percy" club, and now he's also the king of "shit talking TO Percy".
I myself like that Percy is utterly unaffected by Ashton here. Let's be fair, after all Percy saw, felt, and fought, Ashton is pretty unremarkable.

@@birdscritters Cad's inner monologue would be like "Oh, everybody in this room has some issues. Oh no. I have to do something about that."
Which is really fucking hypocrite from Percy considering he was a teen when the Briarwood took his home and murdered his entire family.

I'm so unbelievably impressed with Matt's confidence playing the old OCs
He was so amazing at this!
Ashton: "I've lost SO many fucking people."
Percy: "Hey. Same."
Imagining Taliesin arguing with himself makes this even better lmao
