    Improved your health, repurposed landfill material, reduced your carbon footprint as well as anyone else's who was involved, and still saved money.
    FANTASTIC! Good job!

    great Idea for the solar charge controller, It gave me the Idea to change my "Fisher and Paykel Cycle" over to a 3 phase wind turbine charge controller and get rid of the bridge rectifier board and variable output to keep an eye on. Thanks Cobber.

    Hi Hunwick, I was just wondering, where did you get the drawings of all the wiring's and if you know where I could get all the specs on this motor? The actual website only gives some of the specs.

    I am not sure but I think if you use a capacitor bank parallel to the battery, you won't need the fly wheel and it won't matter the voltage you crank out either.

  • @AdlerMow
    @AdlerMow 8 років тому +4

    You can turn this into pedal powered welding machine if you use a heavyweight flywheel and rewire the motor to have all coils in parallel. The user would pedal for a minute or so accumulating the energy that will be used in short bursts (the welding draw huge current) What do you guys think?

    • @carlosvidro8364
      @carlosvidro8364 8 років тому

      Adler Mow using bank of capacitors in conjunction with batteries maybe ? Then through inverter if necessary, I may investigate this idea

  • @coondogtheman
    @coondogtheman 12 років тому +1

    Maybe put a voltage regulator so it holds the voltage between the red marks no matter how fast you pedal. and maybe if you pedal faster you get more amps.

    I think that if you used a mass wheel with a larger diameter (1.5metres) would be a better effect, accelerating such a wheel would certainly increase the effectiveness of this device

  • @glhfsport4682
    @glhfsport4682 8 років тому

    if you can transfer your energy horizontally onto a really heavy disk gear, that steps down into a generator spindle. you can get off your bike and the thing will keep spinning, the speed of the large disk will be slower than the smaller one attached to the generator (which is good more RPM) does that make any sense? its like an old school pottery wheel

  • @EvendimataE

      EvendimataE Ha haa! raising a child is not difficult. You put the kid on a street corner and you leave it there. You come back a week later and if the kid's still there, you got yourself a stupid fXing kid. Then you proceed from that point. Kids are like any other group of peoples. A bunch of winners and a hole lots of losers :)

    From what I understand, If batteries are left on the ground too long ,the cold of the ground causes condensation inside the battery causing it to eventually fail.

  • @oldfoolngage
    @oldfoolngage 11 років тому +1

    this is a great video and inspirational design, I wanted to do something similar before something got in my way......how hard do you have to tread for the 4 amps you are getting? If you used the same rotor/stator for windenergy, would you wire it different to avoid cogging and adjust the output voltage to the speed? Which kind of RPM are you getting?
    Cheers!

    How would you change the resistance to the alternator to simulate going up a hill for example?

    • @SettimaLegione
      @SettimaLegione 9 років тому

      +darkmath100 this can be achived just changing the electric load. Any alternator runs ligh if there isnt load, becoming harder as the load increase.

    • @nichoffman2133
      @nichoffman2133 9 років тому +1

      +darkmath100 You would lower the resistance. The higher the resistance = the easier it is to pedal. It's counter-intuitive, I know. However, this is because R=V/I. Cheers

    Ok now with an excersize bike the spinning wheel is designed to induce drag for the excersize to burn calories, provide resistance.
    I can see you have the fan type that produces air resistance.
    You should replace this with some weigh (Ok i didnt get to that bit, the teeth give it air resistance) so it will continue to spin after you stop pedeling.

    How much average power could be generated in the pedalling for 1 hour?

    • @FourSeasonsHD
      @FourSeasonsHD 6 років тому +1

      It looked like he was generating 4 - 5 amps on 12 volts. Less than 0.1 kW. It would keep a notebook computer or two running for an hour. An average bi-cyclist can not keep up with 1 kW moped, which would produce 0.5 kW electricity.

    • @BasementEngineer
      @BasementEngineer 2 роки тому

      I don't think so. Fact is, the average person would be hard put to produce 125 watts continuously. What with losses ans so on, one might count on 50 electrical watts output.
      That's OK for some electronic devices.

    i say this is great parts for makeing a generator but i have far more advanced ways to keep it running without gas. or a system that turns on off even car alternators what ppl dont know you can do to/ with them, for either 12vdc or ac or 120vac or 220 . did you test at full output? what volts amps with /without load what type of load ? . one thing to keep in mind many coils of same size wire will give more volts .thicker gauge wire will give more amps. 1 phase or 3 three will serve best for heavy loads single is best for light load . peace.
