- This video could have been made extremely short, however, I have found that the repetition is very helpful when first learning this technique in paper folding. If you'd like a very short professional's version, please leave me a comment below!

Let me tell you, I have made many of these stars in the past but not for a long while. I tried to refresh myself and what a F'ing nightmare. I watched so many videos. I am the kind of person that needs a picture and instructions but I couldn't find any that were any good. I would get one side right and flip it over but it was wrong. So many people had all these ways to fold the strips over after you turned it over, etc. that it was CRAZY. Thank God I found this one. Thank you so much. You saved my sanity and believe me at my age I can't afford to lose it! Happy New Year.
Ditto!
This is my 4th Moravian Star video watched tonight and yours is the only one that brought success. Thank you for taking your time walking us through and the thumb trick is just what I needed! Magnificent!
Excellent tutorial!!
You are a true teacher. THANK YOU FOR STICKING YO THE POINT.
No extra how you load the dishwasher, crappy day you had, how many stores you shopped at to buy the paper.
No nonse teaching.
Very appreciative
Your instructions are exceptional. What a joy to have found you after many other failed attempts at making the star. The tips at the beginning are so helpful.
Saw this star at a gift shop and thought about trying it for myself. Watched several videos and yours was the best. Well explained and tips that will be helpful. Will try to do some for Christmas this year. Thanks Sooooo Much!
Yours is by far the best video on making these stars!!
I've been making these for more than 60 years and this tutorial is absolutely the best of the many I've watched. FABULOUS!!!
OMGosh, thank you SO much! You've made my day. what a wonderfully uplifting comment! Bless you! xoxo Jen

Sunday I taught an 11 year old how to do these via FaceTime. Then gave her the URL to your instructions in case she forgot any of the steps. Seriously, your tutorial rocks. Thanks for taking the time to put it on here. ~ Rom
Knit Peace So awesome that you shared it with someone young! Thanks again :) xoxo Jen
Jen Evers Friends stopped by this week ... sent home strips of paper and the URL for your instructions for their 13 year old daughter. Next morning they called ... where to get more paper ... the kid had stayed up half the night making them.... from your instructions. Thank you AGAIN.
:) That makes me so happy! Have a super week! xoxo Jen
Thank you! This is the best tutorial I’ve found for making Moravian stars!!! Great job. ❤😊thanks again!!!
Went to a craft fair with my kids tonight and they were showing how to make these. I'd never seen one before. They took me through step by step to make one but I knew I'd never remember how to make my own. I looked it up on youtube and found your video and you explained it SO MUCH BETTER!! I just made another one along with you and it turned out great! And now I think I'm addicted and want to make MORE! My kids are sleeping right now but in the morning I'm going to teach them and show them your video!!! THANK YOU!!
+Stingrae57 Wow! Thanks a bunch for your feedback and uplifting comment! Enjoy :) xoxo Jen
I'm going to print out a bunch of links to this. I've given it to half a dozen people now. If there were a UA-cam tutorial of the year, this would get my vote. Yayyyy!!
Wow, thank you so much! You are too sweet :) I really appreciate you sharing it. xoxo Jen
F A N T A S T I C instructions. Much appreciated.
Excellent tutorial. My great grandmother used to make these. She dipped them in wax and used to sell them. My aunt now makes them. I am excited to make them as well. Thanks for a great tutorial.
Jen, this is my first craft video to watch. It is excellent. All info needed, nothing extra. Very good instructions and demonstration. I’ve always loved Moravian stars, and I want to make these with grandkids. Thank you for the e cells to video. And by the way, your hands are beautiful. Many thanks!
Thank you for the comment Ellen. I typically answer most of my comments. I'm not sure why 2 month old ones are popping up in her all of a sudden but youtube has been making a lot of changes! :) Have a happy day! xoxo Jen
Thank you for the video. I've been making these for years. I first saw the video back in 2017
These are very cool, Miss Jen!
Thank You!! I have tried these before your video and was embarrassed that I just couldn't get it😢 Now I can 😊!
When I first moved to PA 15 years ago a friend at work taught me how to make these. I had forgotten all about them until the other day but I couldn't remember how to start the folds. THANK YOU! This is a great video and very easy to follow. I cranked out a few stars and I think I'm going to make some to use as ornaments this year. :D
This brings back childhood memories. Believe it or not, we made these in Cub Scouts (about 1963). To finish them, we dipped them in melted paraffin wax and sprinkled them with sparkle flakes. I remember I roped my dad into obtaining special-order 25-inch- long paper and cutting it into 1-inch wide strips on a huge paper cutter. I don't think he was thrilled about it. I still have a couple of them that go on our tree every year. Thanks for the memories.
How awesome and endearing! Thanks for sharing your story with me. Sounds fun! and wax? I doubt we'd do it that way now, but maybe glue and glitter! Thanks for stopping by and commenting! xoxo Jen

Excellent tutorial! You gave so many handy tips and really nice clear instructions. Thank you so much.
Thank you Deb! It's been eons since I've made one, but it seems to be a popular video. I did it for a friend at work and she and I met several times to teach her how. That was my motivation. Glad you enjoyed! xoxo Jen
Thank you for your super clear, step by step instructions.
You are welcome! I needed a lot of help when I learned :) xoxo Jen
Great tutorial. You are a good instructor Miss Evers! Thank you for the upload. Every one of my friends are getting a star this holiday season. I might even follow some people's advice and dip them in wax. Thank you.
Thanks so much! I appreciate the comment! Have a great Christmas! xoxo Jen

Thank you very much for your excellent instructions. You are so clear. I'm trying to make some fabric stars which are basically the same as yours but without the extra 3D points. I was really struggling but now I know exactly how to start!!
Thanks Trisha! I'm so excited to read your feedback on how well this tutorial was able to assist you! Much appreciation! xoxo Jen
Jen Evers I've just finished my first practice fabric star - don't think I can add a photo but it's turned out very well and I'll be making lots more. Your instructions are great. Clear and systematic, and you don't keep picking up the project and changing the orientation! Thanks again☺
Hi Jen, you did a great job of the video, very clear on how to do it, btw you needed to continue the video for the other side of the star as it's part of the whole process! Thank you so much for your work on this!
Not sure if you watched the whole video, but it shows both sides. You needed to continue to watch it to the end. I double checked. It's all there. Thanks! xoxo Jen
Thank you, well done, you made it very clear. Looking forward to making some now! :-)
Thanks for the feedback Erica! I'm glad you were able to make them! xoxo Jen

Thanks for watching Shar! xoxo Jen
Crystal clear instructions! Super sister 😎 tysm!
Thanks bunches Rachel! I appreciate the feedback! xoxo Jen
I learned it by watching several older videos on youtube. A friend at my job, who is now retired, has suggested we learn how because they used to be made in her family. First I learned, then I taught her! :) TFW xoxo Jen
wow that was great... watched it all the way through and will watch it again when I can practice... tfs, MB
🙂👍🏼perfect explaining skills
Great tutorial! You are right about trying again and again...3rd time is the charm for me! My star is so teeny-tiny (about 1" big). It's so cute but getting the ratios of the paper length and width are so important for ease of use. Thank you for this video!
Thank you for watching Bridget!! I probably couldn't do it now without doing it several times since it's been a few years since I made one! lol I appreciate your great comment!! xoxo Jen
Kris!!! TFW girl! :) I read all your posts and I'm with you in spirit! Keep your chin up!! xoxo Jen
Great tutorial ,easy to understand, thank you!

So cool and talented
Wow where did you learn this. That is totally cool.
Very cool, Jen! TFS, love your videos :) *hugs*
Большое спасибо. У меня все получилось. Лучшее видео!
is their any way ya can make an really big one for a tree toper? If so how long do the strips have to be?
I'm sure there is, but I honestly do not know. I would start by taking the size of the strips and multiplying their length and width by 4 or so and see how big that is and try it out :) xoxo JEn
I'm super glad you liked this one :) I hope you're doing well! xoxo Jen
TFW Peggy! Link me a photo if you do, I'd love to see what you come up with! it's always different :) xoxo Jen
Oh fun!! how I wish my husband was more into what I do! lol I can't even get him to watch my videos! He's such a goof! Link me a photo when you have a couple made! xoxo Jen

Hiya lady! These might just end up on my tree this year. We'll see! xoxo Jen
Thanks for the help!
You're so very welcome! I'm glad to be of help! xoxo Jen
I've got few questions and comments, for you...
1.What kind of tools do you use to cut your paper? Because I do not have a steady hand.
2. From what point (on the star) would you advise stringing these?
3. Would you please do a scaled down version of this tutorial for the palm sized version of the star?
Commenting, both Etsy and Ebay has Moravian papers for sale. This was a wonderful tutorial and I look forward to more from you. =)
HI there and thanks for your interest in my video :)
1. I use a Fiskars paper trimmer to cut my strips of paper, or I use pre bought strips from amazon.com. (you can also buy them from most paper craft/hobby stores like Michaels and JoAnns)
2. Hanging them is a personal choice depending on how you like the look of it.
3. Origami Moravian Star Tutorial This is a very nicely done video on making a smaller version. (you can mute the music if it's distracting, I like her pace)
I appreciate your comment and please browse my videos, there are quite a few other tutorials in there! :) ENJOY!
xoxo
Jen
Oooh! thank you for your reply! I surely will be browsing through for more craft ideas! =)
Very cool.
Thank you friend! xoxo Jen
that's so cool...I'm going to have to give that a try...thanks so much for the tutorial ;-) ~Peggy
Beautiful! TFS :)
Thanks Jen! Hugs!!
Kris
currently going around Australia, ready for the next Commonwealth games, is One Million Stars to end violence..local councils are recruiting groups to make these stars, or the plain ones without these extra points..l think l like the ones you did but l might only do the extra points on one side so it can lay flat..thanks for the tutorial...
Sounds like a great cause Carol! xoxo Jen
well l just made a small one with the extra points on only one star in order to add it to a gift l am sending off today..it worked well so l am chuffed..thanks Jen
Thank YOU Carol, for watching and enjoying my content! xoxo Jen
They are called "Froebel star". Moravian stars look very different
You are absolutely right! 25,000 views and I believe you were the only one to say something. I would change the title now, but I figure if that many people were looking for a Moravian star and this is what they wanted, I'll leave it for now. But I really appreciate knowing the true name!! xoxo Jen
Many people only know it as Moravian star, so it's ok ;)
Thanks Peter!! :) Have a super weekend! xoxo Jen
Where did I go wrong. I have flaps loose on the back , top looks great. ?????
I wish I could help but I did this years ago! lol xoxo Jen Maybe watch it again and try again. Good luck!
@@JenEvers Thank you for responding. Still trying...
All that cutting of the ends is not necessary. Put all the ends together and make one diagonal cut but not to the corner
Printer paper is 8.5 by 11
Wtf I don't know what that was in my last content
I have used computer paper to make these. Lol
Great! and how did they turn out? It's been a few years since I've made my last one! xoxo Jen
