Thank you so much for this! A great memory of years gone by with my children. Now I'll teach my great grandchildren this beautiful art. And I love the wax effect. ❤
I bought the red white and blue paper from you last year and made my stars for Christmas! Once I got into the folding rythm after watching your first video it was so fun! I was so sad when I used up all my strips. I dipped my stars in paraffin and sprinkled fine glitter over them. I kept them out all year. Thank you!
That's awesome! Unfortunately the company I bought my paper from is no longer in business. Amazon sells Moravian Star strips, but it is much smaller, so I can't sell the kits any longer.
I love these! They’d make fun Christmas ornaments. They could be decorated in endless ways. When you trim your tails in the end it would look pretty to use pinking shears!
how nice to have happened upon your video. I've been making these for the last few years and wanted to get a refresher as it had been awhile. Your video gave best results with the method you used for the crisp points. Thank you So Much. And I loved hearing the history on them very much.
Thank you for doing another video. I did these years ago when Carol Duvall had someone showed how to do them on her show. I’ve done many sizes and with different mediums. Some worked some didn’t. I still use them every year for my Christmas tree. I’ve never waxed them though. Seeing your new video I’ll probably make some new ones and try waxing.
Thanks for this video. I have watched several but the last step always confuses me. This video made it clear as glass. Love making these. Haven’t dipped any in wax yet but like the idea
So beautiful!! I'm lefthanded too. I wonder if you can use thick Christmas wrapping paper and cut strips. Use a metal rolling cutter and a yardstick to cut the strips. I'm going to try to make some for Christmas gifts. Thanks for the very clear instructions!! God Bless y'all
You could, but unless your paper is 2 sided, half of the points and crowns would be the white underside. You could cut wide strips and fold them in half so the printed side is on both sides.
Wish I could add the picture, but I used an old Farmer's Almanac to cut 1/4 inch strips - my oh my, they are cute little stars. I also have an old hymnal that i think I will use ongoing. Want to make 85 of them to honor moms 85th Chriatmas and add a reason (both silly and serious) with each why mom is great. Thank you for the easy to follow instructions.
Hello Kandye, What is the size of the white paper? When you were making the large red star I was thinking wouldn't tiny white stars be cute on a garland to hang in a large door frame between two rooms - and then there you showed one.
Sorry it took so long to answer! It is 17" x 1/2 ". I bought this size on Amazon. Search for Moravian Star paper. The other paper company for the larger star is no longer available.
It's super simple! I learned this when I was 8 at school. To this day I make small stars from thin ribbons for Christmas Decorations and I'm over 30 now 😂 start with this version though as it's the easiest ❤
Great teaching. Very simple and clear. Best on YT for the Moravian Star!
I appreciate you saying that! Thank you!

Yous welcome! Enjoy with the grandkids!

That's great! I loved Carol Duvall's show! I wish they still had shows like that on tv!
Looks beautiful again, Kandye! You are so multi talented. Thank you and be blessed, sweet lady! xoxo
Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing how you make the stars. So pretty.
You're welcome! Thank you!
This was a great tutorial! I could really see the instructions and now I can do it!
Awesome! I hope you give it a try!
These are pretty. The directions are clear. I am all thumbs.
You can do it!
Good job! They came out beautiful.
Thank you! 😊
Kandye
Thank you for doing these again. They are beautiful but I have been holding off trying them. You give me more faith in myself to make them. ❤
Please do! The first time I tried, I sat at the table over 3 hours. I didn't have a video, only written instructions! Just keep trying! You'll get it!
Thanks for this video. I have watched several but the last step always confuses me. This video made it clear as glass. Love making these. Haven’t dipped any in wax yet but like the idea
I'm glad it helped! Dipping them in wax is a fun finishing touch but you don't have to, it makes them sturdier.
They're beautiful stars ❤ Thank you for showing them again
Thank you! You're so welcome!
This is fun too! It really brought back memories of my childhood. I loved this. ❤Hannah
Thank you Hannah! Glad it stirred a memory!
These are so much fun to make!
They are indeed!

@@cabincrafts2239 That's true thanks

You're so welcome! They sound great!
Just made them with my 7year old ❤❤ thanks
You're welcome! So glad!
Love these!
Thanks!
Very clear instructions, Kandye! Thanks! Can you use ribbon or fabric?
I have seen them made with both. You'll probably need to starch and iron the fabric and don't use flimsy ribbon and I think it would work.
I use curling ribbons ❤ they are super tiny but super cute 😊

How do you put the sprinkles on it? And what are the sprinkles
I sprinkle mica flakes on it while the wax is still wet, or you can use glitter when the wax is still wet.
Candie have you tried making them with 1 inch ribbon?
I haven't, but I've seen it done.
Looks pretty but rather hard to do!!
That's what I thought at first. Not as hard as it looks!

I cut my own strips from heavier printer paper 3/4 inch and put 2 together with scotch tape. That gives me 22 inch strips.
Awesome! That works!
