Thank you very much Phil Plait, you did a tremendous job handling Crash Course Astronomy. Although you say you're done... PLEASE come back for some more Crash Course videos. Have a nice day.
Phil, your enthusiasm for astronomy (and science generally) is contagious, and bubbles through in every episode. Thanks for a great series! Looking forward to your next project ...
I said this before but given this was the ending I will say it again. This CC got me SO INTERESTED in Astronomy. I only knew about astronomy from what I was taught back in school and I always thought "that was it", "we know everything that we will ever know about the sun, or the Solar System, or the galaxy" "we will never know what a black whole is" and such stuff. But as I got into this CC I realized how alive this science field is, THIS IS ACTUAL SCIENCE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW, in my generation and it is quite amazing. We as humans now just discovered and proved Einstein's theory about gravitational waves that was predicted 100 years from now. I cannot put it into words, the fact that so many things are happening right now and we are getting to know so much MORE about our universe is simply amazing and just gets me so excited. Thank you Phill and everyone in charge of this CC and this channel for bringing this topic in and making it somewhat easier to understand. I had a blast, hope there is a BONUS episode some day or a CC Astronomy 2 with more updates soon. I will be waiting for it! Great job! Thanks!
You did a fine job dude! I can however see room for more aspects of space to expand upon. Things i have read, still remember, but never saw on here. So let's bet on another season!
+Nathan Baxter, precisely my thoughts. I used to enjoy watching Sir Patrick Moore a lot and now I try to follow Dr Phil Plait whenever I can. Even Dr Michelle Thaller is getting to be one of my very favourite astronomers. I honestly am a bit sad that this serie is finished but am looking forwards maybe he would be hosting another one. Perhaps another astronomy related subject.
Finished the series for the second time. This time repeating every topic I hade troubles understanding. It's perfect! Thanks Phill and all people envolved in the project!
Excellent send off Phil. I don't think you could have found a better, more optimistic and hopeful way to end this series. It's so good that it really is bitter-sweet. I will miss seeing you on this channel, and of course this specific series immensely. Hopefully, we will still see you around. DFTBA brother.
+Norwegian Royalist let him make his own desicion, too many people let others do the thinking for them, let him find things out for himself and do what he wants to do.
I've watched and re-watched this series many times, one of the absolute best series on CC, that's for sure! not only because of the content, but also because of Phil Plait himself, who's a great host! kudos! Congrats Phil and the entire CrashCourse team!
Man, I... Words fail me. Thank you Phil et al, for putting science in such a meaningful, and poetic fashion. It has been a wonderful journey, and you have a new fan in me. Wayde.
Wait, did we ever get that episode on Pluto? I seem to remember them skipping it because of the fly-by and that they'd come back to it once the results were in. Either way, great series. Thanks Phil!
i'm a law student but i watch crash course astronomy videos everynight before i sleep. Phil's voice is somewhat soothing and it helps me understand the videos better. Hope to seeing him in future crash course videos.
I really hope so much you figure out another astronomy track. I loved this show, I love your enthusiasm and clear communication. I love CrashCourse - but I love astronomy the most. Thank you very very much.
Make that the second time I've seen this series in its entirety. I know for a fact that I'll come back and watch this again- probably in another 9-12 months- so until then... I REALLY want a season 2!!!
Honestly...this course was the reason why I subscribed for CrashCourse channel. I mean, I do love both Hank and John, but Phil was the one who "bought" me. Good job.
Not if you've seen the outtakes! To quote after he fluffs up at the end, he says with a certain level of exasperation "Unbelievable... all I have to do is THANK people!" So he's fine, laughing and joking till the end, onward to projects new
This is my 4th time watching the entire series beginning to end!!! Can we please get Phil back?!?! This is the best series on crash course! We need more episodes!!!!!
I found myself interested in astronomy this past few weeks. Getting a lot of knowledge and informations, even the excitement when watching Phil talking about astronomy. Then i decided to buy a few books to read. It's quite dissapointing that i've just discovered this whole another level crash course. Well, better late than never. Just want to say a big thankyou to this channel, CrashCourse and Phil Plait!
I've been watching youtube videos for about a decade now and I can say for sure that this series has been by far my favorite. How this medium has grown impresses me!
Binged the entire series of over the past couple weeks under this lockdown. Best Crash Course series ever! Appreciation and gratitude from a yung King who loves to learn
Phil is now one of my all-time favourite UA-cam and science heroes. A gem of a series. Informative, eye-opening, entrancing... And, as always, the graphics team is Thought Cafe.
You've done such a great a job man. It makes me sad to know that these videos are coming to an end, but thanks for all the effort and awesomeness you've put into these videos.
When I realized, at the end of the episode, that we wouldn't be seeing your face every week anymore I cried. You're one of the best teachers I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. I always looked forward to your passion and respect for the sciences and the invigorating feeling of realizing our place in the universe. You've had a big impact on the way I see myself and others. A BIG Impact. Mr. Plait, your influence will carry on in my own exploration of the sciences. However difficult those pursuits may be, it will be worth it for the feeling of discovery you've imbued. Thank you for being who you are and taking the time to care, you are indeed an amazing individual who doesn't forget to be awesome. Thank you Mr. Green and Mr. Muller for giving us this opportunity to learn where we otherwise might not have had the chance. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and to all of you behind the scenes. You're all making a difference. You make this world a better place to be in. Hopefully we'll all see you again soon Mr. Plait. If not on UA-cam, perhaps in a future observatory. Good luck.
Man i still come back because i miss this serious so bad... :p I now watch PBS Digital Studios astronomy programs but still, this was and will remain an unbeatable learning series from a great channel :D
I had avoided astronomy for years, I tend to look down while I walk, and close my eyes when I think. Then I saw images from the James Webb telescope and the question "If stars stars further away gave off their light thousands of years ago, are we looking into the past every time we look into the night sky" came into my head. The question confused and consumed me. Then I found this course and was hooked from the 2nd episode. I felt that my understanding of reality expanded, that a lot of other subjects I had learned before did not make full sense until astronomy. Thank you for opening my eyes to this field of science, for making it clear and simple to understand, and for making me stop and wonder at the night sky. Now I look up and feel a peace I have never grasped before, and I am grateful for however long I have to gaze with appreciation up at the universe.
I used to fear studying astronomy . I almost had a parochial sense of fear, that I could not explore the vistas of the universe. This guy made astronomy so interesting and fun to understand that it has kindled a new interest in me to study it . Thank you Phil Plait. Forever thankful to you.
What about the idea that intelligent life would focus on denser star clusters toward the center of our galaxy? We are examples of life. The animal kingdom is a pattern to go on. Single and multi celled organisms. Insects and fish. Amphibians. Reptiles. Reptile-like mammals. Mammals. Bi-pedal, Orangutan-like Apemen who are encouraged to descend from the trees for survival and evolve by the same processes we do. That is the system for intelligent life. Of course, for all of this to occur we needed 5 mass extinction events which is complicated, yes but it seems natural. A goldilocks zone. Everything it seems is necessary for life but there are so many chances. We are one example of life, intelligent life, in the universe.
This was a beautiful journey. I am truly amazed and humbled by the invaluable insight this series provided. After learning so much, I realised I know so little. Thank you so much Crash Course, PBS and Phil Plait for this.
Damn, cried when Phil uttered 'Are we alone?' before the intro cut queue. There are just so much feeling throughout this 46-episode epic journey. Thanks CC and Phil, and I'm dying for season 2!
I want to thank you REALLY MUCH for making this series, Phil Plait, de Pastino, Thaller, Jenkins, Sweeny, Aranda and of course all the others at _Crash Course_ Astronomy! This series has been absolutely amazing! I love exploring the Universe, if only from Earth. I am currently 14 years old and when I grow up, I want to work as an astrophysicist or an astronomer. Before I say this video series, I wasn’t sure what field of physics I wanted to work with, but now I am. Thank you very much for helping me come to that conclusion. I have to admit that I have never owned a telescope or even a set of binoculars but after watching this series, I will definitely convince my parents to by one. I have always been quite fascinated with space and the night sky, even before I watched this series, but no I know that’s what I want to explore. The Universe is AMAZING! Thank you for the best _Crash Course_ series of them all: ~ Astronomy! It has been an amazing ride though the space and the history (the space time) of the Universe. This was definitely a well chosen topic for the last episode of the series: is there other life out there in space? I do agree with you on your conclusions: there is probably plenty of life out there, simple life, due to the fact that the conditions required for life to emerge aren’t that hard to find as we thought. There is probably intelligent life somewhere out there. However, as you said, I doubt there have been any green aliens with antennas on their heads on Earth. I only hope you friend, Seth Shotak, is right with his conclusion: we will pick up signals of alien life in the next 20 years, or else there is something we have missed (maybe there is no intelligent life except us). Thank you!
Thank you Phil Plate and all the people whom have worked on "Crash Course: Astronomy". The country I am from and living in, is not stable and going through a war. The bright side of it is that there is no electricity in the whole city. So when there is no warplanes striking at night, I go up to the roof and observe the sky and see the stars so clear, so calm, so beautiful it feels like I am floating or traveling through space. I love astronomy, but unfortunately my country is a dream killer. Thus, thank you for sharing this amazing dream even if it was for little while.
This was my third Crash Course series and it was the best! Phil was so amazing throughout it. The knowledge he imparted really broadened my understanding of things. It is sad how there aren't more astronomers and cosmologists. Should there be teachers like Phil in school, kids will want to do more than become doctors and engineers. An astronomer has been made out of me and I will forever learn as much more as I can about this field. Thank you, Phil. And thank you, Crash Course! Off to my next series now.
Phil You are awesome! thank you very much for an amazing course! And big thanks for the creator of this program! Those are the things that will change the world for the better! free and good knowledge!
This was my favorite CrashCourse series by leaps and bounds. Phil Plait is an excellent host, and his writing for each episode was wonderfully informative. I'm always excited to learn more about space, but Phil is profound in his ability to light up that awe one may feel when studying the universe through sharing the wonder he himself must feel every day. Fantastic work!
This is by far the most interesting course I've seen online. Astronomy was never my thing. Started the first episode just because I was bored. Seems like it got me addicted like other popular TV series, but even better than those. Phil is an awesome person. I like how he gets people's interest with talking. Explaining all the scientific and mathematical terms easily. Every school kids should watch this series. And every school science teachers should wear cool shirts like Phil. I'll explore the astronomy more in future. And from now on whenever I stare at the sky, it's not the same old sky anymore.
+UKscalemodeller hopefully they may make a series on physics or the history of time. Until then I am going to watch the series from the beginning again.
The last episode and I felt like tearing up (a bit 😪). This has been a most wonderful journey! I started loving astronomy ever since I was about in 5th grade when I came across an old, dilapidated (even) book about the planets and other heavenly bodies. It went kinda "dormant" (for a number of reasons...) but then got "revived" just recently, and then I found this gem of a crash course! 🤩Why didn't I discover this sooner? 😵💫 Anyways, thank you, Crash Course Astronomy, for such a ridiculously and informatively beyond wonder course! Bringing it to even more awesomeness is of course The Phil Plait who is such an amazing and brilliant host. Wish there was a part 2... 🙏 More power to the whole team for this masterpiece!!!❤
I am engineer and I spent last 2 weeks straight every afternoon to watch this course. Thanks for such fantastic course. The funny things is Phil can't help not to say "weird" many times, lol.
This show should be a full length, tv series. I've watched everyone episode, and loved them all. Great writing!!
who watches TV nowadays ?
Thank you so much for sharing this valuable stuff. Now I know our universe better than before. Thanks once again

You have to admit, Astronomy has the best CC intro song yet.

+Fernando Mendes usach? ha!
+TheJaredtheJaredlong Remember, folks: that's why we call it "space".
+TheJaredtheJaredlong you could almost say he's leaving us with a lot of empty space... Season 2! shall we hashtag it or is that old fashion?
Thank you very much Phil Plait, you did a tremendous job handling Crash Course Astronomy. Although you say you're done... PLEASE come back for some more Crash Course videos. Have a nice day.
+Anay Kumar Peace out.

Thanks for the series. Good luck with your next endeavor.
Phil, your enthusiasm for astronomy (and science generally) is contagious, and bubbles through in every episode. Thanks for a great series! Looking forward to your next project ...
I've finished watching this series the day this video was released. 2 years have passed and stills the best UA-cam series I ever watched.
Excellent series! Really going to miss it!
Damn it! I revisited the series again after a while and I am still amazed, enlightened and inspired. The topic, the host! Perfect!
This course was fantastic. I am very grateful for your work. I plan to rewatch it. I hope from time to time you will updates when news happens.
He could already do something about Planet 9 rumours
from here you might continue with the yale course FRONTIERS AND CONTROVERSIES IN ASTROPHYSICS
Ur Spo if you want updates, just go to sci show space
I said this before but given this was the ending I will say it again.

Just finished the whole series, and I must say, you sir are a great teacher and guide through our Universe. Thank you for this stellar tour!!
You did a fine job dude! I can however see room for more aspects of space to expand upon. Things i have read, still remember, but never saw on here. So let's bet on another season!

Thank you, Phil Plait. After Patrick Moore, you are now my favourite astronomer.
Please find more ways to keep helping make us awesome.

Thank you, Phil, from the bottom of my heart. Your enthusiasm is infectious.

PHIL DON'T GO.
This was by far the best CrashCourse series. Well done, Phil and crew. One of the best educational shows I've ever seen.
Astronomy has easily been my favourite Crash Course yet (closely followed by CC History). Thanks man.
Man, I... Words fail me.
Thank you Phil et al, for putting science in such a meaningful, and poetic fashion. It has been a wonderful journey, and you have a new fan in me.
Wayde.
Two things are infinite: the universe and my gratitude for this series. Thank you. And maybe come back
Wait, did we ever get that episode on Pluto? I seem to remember them skipping it because of the fly-by and that they'd come back to it once the results were in.
Either way, great series. Thanks Phil!

I really hope so much you figure out another astronomy track. I loved this show, I love your enthusiasm and clear communication. I love CrashCourse - but I love astronomy the most. Thank you very very much.
Sad that it is over; but, everything must end sometime. This was a great Crash Course. Well done to Phil and the entire Crash Course team.
Phil, thanks for a fantastic series. My favorite Crash Course yet. I hope we see you again somewhere out there for more cosmic brilliance.
Phil is truly a man who loves what he does. Never thought I would develop such profound interest in Astronomy.
Make that the second time I've seen this series in its entirety. I know for a fact that I'll come back and watch this again- probably in another 9-12 months- so until then... I REALLY want a season 2!!!

Love the small mention of Pluto. I adore Pluto and so it was kinda sweet to see you reference it for a second as a planet
Thanks for all these episodes Phil, you did an awesome job of explaining things :)
I just discovered this series three days ago because of the transit of Mercury, and devoured all 46 episodes since then. Great job Phil and company.
Just finished watching. Great series. Hand down one of the best I have watched in UA-cam.
Damn it, Phil - discover more things we don't know yet so you folks can make more astronomy videos. A lot more videos. _A lot._ *A LOT.*
Phil was the best host that this series could probably get . Good job CrashCourse and PBS digital studio
Phil, thank you for taking us on this cosmic journey!
Fascinating series! But no mention of the Fermi Paradox in this episode? Surprising :)
Or the great barrier

Love you Phil ❤️

Thank you Mr. Plait & PBS Digital. It was an awesome course.
Thus, thank you for sharing this amazing dream even if it was for little while.
we'll miss you, Phil
.... You should of done this at Episode 42.
It was a pleasure and privilege to make this journey with you, thank you!
Title would've been even greater if it had been episode 42!
Please do a series for quantum mechanics.
"For one last time." NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to miss this series...
2:50 it's early 2019 and JWST will launch approximately at March 30, 2021.
Thumbs up for clarity astronomy lovers :)
Fine job.
fancy seeing you here. shame this is the last one.
+UKscalemodeller I've seen them all mate. Such a great series.
+GYRUSS yep, last week's was a little depressing lol. A great series, I'll have to find something to replace it.......re runs.
+UKscalemodeller hopefully they may make a series on physics or the history of time. Until then I am going to watch the series from the beginning again.
Aw! I'll definitely miss this series! THANK YOU SIR!! HATS OFF!! 😘😘😘
Thanks Phil. Awesome series.
Amazing series.
I am engineer and I spent last 2 weeks straight every afternoon to watch this course. Thanks for such fantastic course. The funny things is Phil can't help not to say "weird" many times, lol.
About 4 episodes late Phil.
+Suitaloo Hah, got this one. :D
