- Fallout Shelter's legendary dwellers are one of the best lunchbox rewards you can get when you first start off in the game. In this episode of Vault Log we take a look at all the legendary dwellers and I give my thoughts on which one would be the best for a beginners vault.
I wish there was an update that lets us create an overseer (outfit, hair, gender, etc). One part of the whole game is about us, the player, overseeing our vault. I really hope they add this into the game. Like if u agree!! :)

I renamed one of my dwellers "The Overseer" and he is just roamimg around the vault.

I want them to add expiramens. Nearly every vault in the fallout world is made to expirament on humans (vault 34, vault 12, vault 21, etc) So why not add weird expiraments in fallout shelter?
I love the inclusion of Fallout 3 characters but would love to see more Fallout NV - who is more legendary than Joshua Graham, for example?!

Hi. 1- Legendary guns with low stats (like Wild Bill side arm, 1-6) should not be sold for caps. You should scrap them, that way you get legendary junk, wich is hard to find, to make good legendary weapons. The same for undesired legendary armor.
2- As far as I know, you can no longer get Old Longfellow, becouse he was a event dweler, not even by lunchboxes.
3- You can get Sarah Lyons by completing the BoS quests

Thats weird. According to the wikia he is not avaiable anymore and he is one of the only legendary dwellers that I don't have. Well, good for you, its seems I'm wrong in that case :)

what would be awesome is a begginers guide for first starting vaults. since a lot of people(me included) recently started playing again because of the steam release, and the survival mode vaults, a cool list of "things not to do when starting a vault" would be helpful, and also a list of things to do when developing your vault. keep up the good work

Hi Dan, stumbled across the series randomly looking up tips like crafting, farming caps, and the like so I can better my vault. Made some rookie mistakes, still am since I never really knew how technical the game gets and watching the Vault Logs series definitely opened my eyes to how it really works. This is so good and definitely learned quite a lot watching it. Thanks for the tips dude!

Definitely the IDEAL VAULT LAYOUT video idea, describing advantages through the different stages of vault development (beginner, intermediate, advanced/end-game). Spacing rooms early to avoid incident spread, fewer rooms that are more compact for efficiency later on, with end-game room numbers reflecting the need to keep power consumption low, but accommodating 200 dwellers and enough power rooms to mitigate radscorpion power depletion, health storage, keeping only enough rooms to be fully manned for optimum defense that reduces the need to move dwellers, zero training rooms, etc.
IDEAL VAULT DEFENSE video, describing advantages/disadvantages of strength vs. agility rooms next to the entrance (go team Agi!).
Also, a stats guide describing the effects of the stats for questing, vault function, and wasteland encounters (though stat effects have been addressed already, piecemeal, in other vids).
My end-game plan in to have 200 max-health dwellers, each with a +7 outfit and a Dragon's Maw, with a single quest team running with +16 stat or +7 Agi outfit, Vengeance, and two +6 dmg pets with one X4 Return Speed pet to handle daily/weekly quests. So, what will a finalized fault look like? 200 dwellers with max health and items, no training rooms, no need to explore, and just enough rooms for full production? Thanks for this series, very well done!

I recommend making sure you leave plenty of room for power stations. I have 21 power rooms, you need lots of power if you want to use all the space including upgrades.
Edwin I just started playing a few weeks ago, never played fallout before. I find most of the layout guide from 2015 are outdated because of those pesky radscorpions that eats % of power so it's not beneficial to expand the power storage too much. And the way they move, it's not effective to separate your empty rooms they way it's laid out for molerat proofing.
***** for late game, max health is needed plus best weapon on first 2 floors for death claw defense. For the rest, just use outfit to benefit the room.
Would like to see more legendary dwellers from New Vegas or other Obsidian/ Black Isle fallouts in future updates. Wonder if there’s none just because Bethesda is salty at obsidian for making better fallout games and being the fan favourites.
It all seems to be up to total chance what you get from the starting lunchboxes. I've gotten power armor, amata, Lucas Simms, Moira, Hardened Fatman, and that's just to name a few. I think leaving one vault open just so you can play a game of chance over and over is worth it
Characters I'd love to see as Legendary Dwellers include Benny, Craig Boone & Nick Valentine
When will the survival mode guide would be tackled on? And your point on legendary dwellers are spot on, you can make your dwellers better when you unlock every training room to train them. But in all goodness, it's a good and well thought explanation of this matter

See, sometime's Legendary Dweller's are worth taking to Quests because of their Level's, on the Phone, I managed to get Dr. Lee, and then on Steam, I got multiple Legendary Dweller's, Tenpenny included.
you should do a episode on survival mode
personally I wouldn't send dwellers on quests on survival mode until they have reached level 25-30
and I wouldn't send them alone
I read that the laser musket in this game ignore enemy damage resistance which no other weapon does. It might be cool to compare its damage with something like vengeance or dragons maw against higher enemies with great resistance because if there are enemies with high enough resistance that the dragons maw does less damage that the laser musket could then make the weapon very useful in higher end content.

Autumn and Dr. Li (They got a brunette daughter I named General Lee Autumn) but despite being legendary dwellers, I had to arm them with Tactical Plasma Thrower (Autumn) and Virgil's Rifle (Dr. Li)

Next episode should be about Melee Weapons. The reason i suggest this is because im not sure if Strength affects Melee attacks. I know its your channel and you are Pressing X, but still.

Whether or not the legendary Dwellers are worth it doesn’t really matter to me. I’m a completionist, so I intend to get all of them eventually. If only they weren’t so damn rare.
all Legendary Dwellers i got is Piper :-/ BUT THEN I FOUND IN THE LUNCHBOX EVEN A PIPER'S OUTFIT SO I HAVE TWO PIPER OUTFITS!!! yay

me when i dont see a joshua graham vault dweller: CANT EXPECT GOD TO DO ALL THE WORK
I must HEARTILY disagree with your choice. Since these legendary dwellers are really the most useful early on, the best one I ever got at the start was Lucas Simms. His high Perception and Endurance S.P.E.C.I.A.L.s as well as 6 Agility made him a BEAST of a quester all on his own. Add to that his Sheriff's Duster with a +2 Perception and +5 Endurance?? A +5 Endurance outfit that I can equip on dwellers to level them is a HUGE help early on (with the only downside being that it's for men only).
I got Simms in a starter pack and early on I sent him out exploring and he came back with enough outfits and weapons that I was able to arm the whole vault with SOMETHING (fists and feet are fine for radroaches, but you need to have something to beat up raiders) and most of them got some kind of suit that helped increase their efficiency. What I didn't use I sold, and I sold most of the crafting junk too because I was a long way from being able to set up any crafting rooms.
What time Simms was not exploring he was working in the water production room just below the vault door, and I would leave him there until an incident occurred, then pull him into guard duty before they got through the door. He was able to kill off most of the raiders before they got to the next room. He has one of the better weapons, the best questing stats since any Agility/Luck combo suit in addition to his own high Perception Endurance stats gives him a great combo of the 4 most important ones, AND he doesn't have one of those rinky-dink 1-6 dmg sidearms.
I had Burke in a starter pack in a different vault, and I think he was basically worthless. It doesn't do you any good to have a lot of CAPs early on, they are only good for building rooms and crafting. You shouldn't build too many rooms until you have enough well-armed and equipped dwellers to defend them, and if you have a LD who's good for questing instead of just exploring, you'll get plenty of caps along with the right weapons and gear to make the CAPs useful

i got a maxed out vault.. but... only got 4 legendary dwellers.. sigh.. i never get them from the lunchboxes, think ive opened over 500+ of them

Harkness is the best since he doesn’t take radiation damage in the wasteland even if under 11 endurance.
Dwellers exploring the wasteland don't accumulate rsdiation poisoning if their endurance is 11 or higher?

I played the mobile game years ago and remembered getting a few legendary dwellers on missions and the free lunch boxes from them. I finally played the xbox version and it saddens me to know that the only way I will complete the last 50g achievement is to buy a bunch of lunch boxes. I've already completed every available mission so I guess I'll wait for a sale. If there's a better way I would've found it but feel free to give some advice.
Honestly the post apocalyptic rider armor can make any dweller better than a legendary dweller i gave one of my dwellers war's armor and a laser machinegun so now i have a guy named razputin nicholai working with abraham washington
It would be awesome if we could get more Fallout 4 companions as legendary dwellers.
Also you can have duplicate legendary characters. I have 2 Three Dog's in my radio room

I got piper pregnant with old Longfellow,safe to say it was a very very weird experience
With enough training everybody becomes better then legendary dwellers and most gear can be made with the recipes except for a few quest reward armors and i don't think their more then two in the whole game. +4 +4 +4 +4 stats. A baseball jersey and a detective outfit and i do have a chain left so perhaps their is another one and and the +3 stat pet can make it easy to create legendary dwellers by breeding them also a quest reward.
+Jack Hand Great points. I think legendary dwellers were just a way for the game to have more of a connection to the Fallout universe.
and their clearly valuable in the early game and take less time to train to all 10's.
The legendary dwellers still have a head start until you have the +3 child pet for the woman and then their about the same unless you find a really high state dweller. Saves time with the training rooms. I have 197 dwellers and all but a few have maxed out stats and I had a lot of training rooms and been replacing them with storage rooms and Half of my vault will be storage with a guard or robot and did not do this until end game. The guard is to destroy or keep spawns from spreading until reinforcements arrive and my guards currently don't need reinforcement but they do speed things up and you could keep a line of the map empty and put up elevator to the rest of the vault and wait spawns out.

+vvdealmeida Legendary dwellers can't be obtained through the radio station. You can currently get them through lunchboxes and a few quests. Good question!
broadcasting is useless then, let's just keep making our vault dwellers happier! (by disguising their unhappiness with the best post-apocalyptic music)

Aleksy Aleksy Not with the current state of the game. There just aren't enough cap sinks for end game players. I hope we start seeing more content that can be purchased with caps though.

For future reference, an unequipped lvl 1 dwellers will get a random amount of caps approx every 15mins, and one weapon/armor approx ever hour. There's also a random chance of extra stuff every so often, usually from encounters. Higher level, better prepared dwellers get more loot more often, as they are more capable of dealing with the situations they face.
Do you think that they will update fallout shaulter with anything ?

Your best bet for finding legendary dwellers is to opening lunchboxes.

Once you get to the end of the game there isn't much to spend caps on, so they just kind of pile up at that point. :)
