We just took our LG Tromm apart after 18 years of use, the spider bracket on the back of the drum is bad and the door seal is a little rough. Drum was off balance and wore a couple grooves in the outer drum from rubbing. Had this washer 18 years and technically I could fix it. I have it all apart and I am tempted but I think we will get this 3470. Hopefully it will be as good as the first one has been. Thank you for the review.
Cool! I got my duet in 2005...first front loader ever...and after that I joined a forum called garden web (at that time) it was like a laundry snob forum (if you will) and we were all discussion the different machines, detergents, what we liked about them or didn't like... how long did they think ours would last. I remember at that time several had LG Tromms... even back then people were calling modern appliances junk and we'd be lucky to get 10 years max out of them...(LOL) My duet is currently 19 years and 8 mos old.. and still freaking works...and I honestly have no clue what my next FL washer will be... Possibly an LG with turbo wash, an Electrolux...or a new Whirlpool or Maytag... I just don't know... could I possibly get MORE years of out this thing?
Sorry, wanted to make a correction to the title. This is a 3400, the replacement of the 3470 in the lineup and is a 4.5 Cubic Foot tub instead of 5.0.

I owned the LG Tromm for 15 years, worked great so I just bought this identical washer, thanks for the review.

Any updates? Or still going strong?
