When skint and gigging I couldn't afford different guitars with different pickups so in the late 80s early 90s we would buy pickguards and cut them out for humbuckers and mod my legend ( Canadian ) telecaster for a different tone! Sounded shit but looked cool as!
loved that original squier pawn shop strat/tee mix thing, think the pawn shop is way better than gibsons mod shop which does look like getting rid of old stock and paint but let the factory have fun
@@ChrisFranklyn I did check the specs and it seems that Fender Pawn Shop 70's Stratocaster Deluxe did have a straight 9.5" radius. Josh might have actually measured the radius and the accumulation of that thick layer of gloss poly has caused this bezzare reading!
I have the same guitar but in vintage white bought in like 2013. I swapped the bridge pickup for a DiMarzio Super Distortion, and I play mostly metal with it. Usually people tell me that it's not a guitar meant for metal, and are shocked about how good it sounds with the SD. On the other hand the stock bridge pickup was garbage in my opinion. Maybe ok for blues or soft rock, but lacks a lot of dynamic and definition when you increase the gain.
I like most of crimsons videos sooooo.. for me it doesn't really matter.. AS LONG AS WE KNOW TO WATCH.. SCHEDULE IT at the beginning of the day at least.
It’s fun. Fun is allowed and necessary.
That pick guard looks so much better than the standard Strat. And the super Strat/Tele pickups mix just makes sense.
I love a mashup of Fender styles! People talk about how modular they are, then those their minds if people stray from the 50s specs...

Love it. Any Jazzmaster bits?
Love the idea. Would love to see something with a Phat Strat. One of my favorites.
Love these Head stocks.
I kick myself daily for not picking up one of the Offset Specials when I had the opportunity back in 2014.

I am confused on the radius. Is it really rounder toward the heel?
Yeah, I wondered that - probably misspoke and it's the other way up.

Having this guitar since 2013, the radius is 9.5 everywhere. It is not a compound radius.

Like the troublemaker series from fender
I like to watch you do the fret work ….🙃
The control layout isn't for me. There is some fun to be had there.
