I have the finnor offshore 6500 grinder reel i see one on your rod. What is your review on the reel?. From south africa. No parts for finnor reels in south africa. My reel weighs 37 ounces .
Thanks for the video. Interesting way to tie the Albright. I will try that method. In regards to everyone touting the FG: I'm sure its a fine knot, but i've seen some immediate failures on it when it is tied wrong. I would rather tie a lower strength knot like an albright or uni-knot and know I tied it correctly. On a rocking boat in wind, I will even rather sometimes tie a 6 turn doubled surgeons for the loop as I know I can do it correctly. Is there a rule to how many turns with the bimini vs. line diameter?
Nice tutorial on the bimini knot but wondering why you're still using the original Albright instead of the improved or modified Albright aka Alberto knot?
its a good technique but I thought my toes would slice off. Does that mean too much tension or I just have soft feet? It was a bit better when I had socks on.
Mark Thompsos thanks for your comment. As a charter guide for 30 years with many international clients, Ryan can’t risk losing trophy fish so he has always used a bimini. There is no right or wrong its just his preference. Knots are horses for courses and spider hitch is a great knot too. If the spider hitch works best for you then we recommend you stick with it.
Ethan A it strengthens the knot. Most times the line breaks on the knot. But you can tie whatever knot you want mate. If you don't see the point just do whatever you reckon.
Made that Bimini look so easy. Well done 👍🏻
Just tried this before church, 😂, I got it, great explanation, first time trying
I use the Alberto Knot to join mono to braid. Cheers
Easiest way I have ever seen to do both those knots great video cheers.
Thanks or the kind words Corban
Thanks for the amazing video! Such a wealth of knowledge!

Palamor knot out uni is the best fisherman today make knots so difficult
Great video thanks
Great advice mate love your tips.
Thanks Liam
Screw the knot!
I wanna see the 2000 plus meter Barra! 😂
Seriously though, this is one of the better tuts I ever seen.
Great explanation! Thank you! 🎉

What's the benefit of using a bimini twist to a spider hitch?
Great
Awesome
I use the reel handle instead of my toes.
Hey ryan if you're using 80lb braid onto 100lb mono would you even bother doubling the braid?
Thanks much...

Not really mate. I use the same turns when we used to tie 130 mono on the big marlin back in the day as I do today with 20lb for Barra.

Pak De if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Ryan will this method of wind on leader system work for both braid & mono to mono leader ..Great well presented video thanks..
Yes Ian, except with braid you go through twice at the end loop (when finishing the albright at the end).
Thanks for the info ,,,
Can FG knot work on ur situation here 1 knot is better then 2 right correct me if im wrong
Alif Rusdan FG is good but you must tie it right. Otherwise it will let go on a big fish.

It could be either or haha. Maybe I've just got tough feet from never wearing shoes.
Fg knots are way more stronger and there smoother through the guides it only takes 1-2 mins to tie ,if you practice it

All you want is a double line. why not tie a spider hitch. faster, easier and fool proof.

I don't really see the point in the bimni why not just go straight to the Albright
Ethan A because the knot is stronger when tied with a double especially light line classes.
Ryan Moody Fishing it is only a metre of strength
Ethan A it strengthens the knot. Most times the line breaks on the knot. But you can tie whatever knot you want mate. If you don't see the point just do whatever you reckon.
Ryan Moody Fishing thanks for your help mate l think that l will stick to the fg
With the fg instead of doing half hitches is the ruzzuto finish stronger then doing half hitches?
