I love that you went back to the format of showing the swatching of colors. I used to miss how you would show the little circle swatches (like in the older "30 Days in the Studio" videos) There is just Something about watching watercolor being applied to the paper alongside your voice is so hypnotizing to me. Lol 🤓. 😍✌️
I have this exact set and I simply love the granulation, how well they mix and how true to colour they dry! Also they smell absolutely delicious every time you open the box. I’m surprised they haven’t made full pans for professional artists yet.

After seeing this I ordered the set and absolutely love it. Since then I ordered two more. I love how they wet, how they go down and how pure they are. Plus they smell wonderful…some of my other brands have very offensive chemical smells. Thanks for the review.

I love the textural look of these, but have to confess that though I might buy two or three of the more unusual colours I really would not dare to buy more, they are really expensive whether singly or in a set like this. I was really surprised to see them being sold here with a £ price exactly the same as the euro price, is there really not much difference now? I have a set of the other, more historic, single pigment Italian paint maker, also very lovely but also extremely delicate colours, and of course the contrast between this and those is very alluring! They are always so inviting, but I have commitments this year I cannot ignore. Enjoy this lovely set, Oto, they look lovely. It was so nice to watch a review by you. I could mix similar I suppose but the colours that really appealed to me were arranciata and fig green. Just for the joy of pans To dip into that are exactly what I would imagine? The Tyrian purple is also calling me…. The best bit of this video was your mixes which showed exactly what this set is capable of. Lovely.

I was waiting to hear about the YinMn blue and rewetting it. Exciting to hear they haven't had that problem. I am in love with this set but it's way out of my budget! I've put it on my wishlist and maybe one day :)
I was so excited to see this video pop up! These are beautiful , highly pigmented colors that are such a joy to use. I love the very subtle Rosemary scent. Often handmade paints use clove oil which I find too strong and it never seems to dissipate. Customer service is great as well and Alina (the A in A.Gallo) responds promptly to emails. I love that these are made by artists and artisans and that they partner with other artisans in their products and packaging. They are an investment, no question, but maybe one could buy one or two pans at a time with a Jackson’s order to gradually build a small personal palette. It is always a pleasure to watch one of your videos and hear your voice. Thank you for sharing.😘
I got a set of 12 A. Gallo paints a couple years ago, yes they're very pricey especially when you're in North America! But the quality is truly outstanding and you certainly get what you pay for with these paints!!!!!!!!!!!

Ooh these are lovely colors. I've been seeing ads for A Gallo around, and have been curious about them, so thank you for this! Some of the more unique colors standing out to me here are the hokkaido orange, ruby red, periwinkle, notturno and harbor blue.

Thank you for this. I'm trying to decide on a set. I considered the classic set because my thought was to play it safe for my first experience of A Gallo. While I primarily use Daniel Smith, I've also created a palette with Maimeri-blu. I have used a lot of Greenleaf & Blueberry handmade paints and Letter Sparrow. I'm not an experienced watercolorist. So, do you think this collection would be suitable for someone like me? My father was a professional watercolorist until he had a stroke. Back then he used Grumbacher and WN. Incidentally, for those in the US, SOHO Art in NYC sells many of the sets, which saves on the overseas shipping. Thanks!

can you show the other side of the brush please. I want to see if the wires are flat and bound together. I got one and the wires are sticking out which isnt good. I wanted to know if this one is better made?
got 3 colors in the post yesterday. Jarosite is hard to rewet. colors aren't drastically different from other brands except i'd say they SMOOTH out radically for a soft gradient, and it was unique. *SMELL: ok... rosemary? no. smells like menthol or something from cold lozenges.* it's faint. like, a random whiff and i remembered people said you could smell these. --yeah more of a faint antiseptic or vicks vapor rub smell than something herbally. is it bad? nope. it just doesn't smell of rosemary. (at least not the plant. god knows, essential oils sometimes smell nothing like the real thing.) *btw, this isn't meant as a dis. i still really love the color palettes they offer. but at $16 or so a halfpan,* i can't say it feels like a better investment than say white nights at $4 a pan. (i just happened to be swatching that brand. i don't support the war.). ERCOLANO RED does also appear to be unique. and JAROSITE.... it's a very very pale gold buff.... *All three colors are pretty and have that softness.* but it's up to you whether the minor differences are worth the $$$$$ of handmade paint. (haven't done a full painting yet, this is just the swatch cards).

I recently bought their Blue Palette with Yln Mn Blue and Lapislazuli and I just love the whole palette. 💙And the best Lapislazuli I got so far. 👍

This is a really nice review of this set. I really like the Medici Red, Aquamarine, and Deep Sea Green from this set.

It looks like a majority of their paints are multi-pigment. Which makes me think the palette itself is overpriced.
If you look at their site, you’ll see that they are avoiding poisonous pigments, which means they are mixing hues for many standard colours.

Only eight single pigment colours in there. Not for me - I'd be creating mud within minutes.
