Ensignbus Christmas Heritage Bus Running Day 2023

Ensignbus Christmas Heritage bus running day is featured in this film which centres on Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex. Some superb and rare buses from the Ensignbus heritage fleet and guests on 4 special routes were in operation. You could visit 2 local museums on the X54 service, take the X81 to the Tilbury ferry or the X55 to the Bluewater shopping centre and do some Christmas shopping. For many it was a chance to enjoy a nostalgic trip back in time and take some photos along the way.
The action starts and finishes in Upminster where a few buses can be seen on the X21 and X55 services. Then it is off to Lakeside the centre of the action where many buses can be seen arriving and departing along with one or two regular service buses. I then made a brief visit to Grays travelling on 233 before returning to catch RTW335 back to Upminster where a Maidstone & District Leyland Leopard can be seen.

Interesting event and a great video. My Grandma was from Essex. I think I heard one Routemaster that didn't have an AEC engine? The Southend Transport Van Hool Astromega looked timeless. I like how that generation of Van Hool doesn't look out of place on todays roads. Nice variety all round.
