@@dereckrandell2458 I'm in the US and planning to sell my house and go to Ecuador with the possibility of moving there. On an expat in Ecuador UA-cam channel someone was warning to avoid Guayaquil at all costs because the murder rate was so high. I looked up the numbers and the murder rate in 2020 for Guayaquil was 7.7 per 100,000 people and in Louisville, KY, where I live, it was 23 per 100.000 so, 3 times as high. It is barely newsworthy when people get shot and killed here, every part of town, every time of day and most are reported as random with no leads. Recently 2 people were sitting in a car in a restaurant parking lot, broad daylight, a car pulled up, shot and killed one in the car, shot and killed the other as he was running away, they picked up their shell casings and drove away. There were no descriptions of the car or the people inside the car and no apparent motive as to why those two people were killed (like they were involved in crime). If that happened in Guatemala, it would have been world news but, barely a mention here in town. I think if people would read their local news and replace the name of their city with a foreign city, they'd be surprised with how much they've gotten to accept as "normal".

Wow. The thermal pool is amazing. If it was anywhere else in the world, it would be a tourist resort thronging with people. Ruined by a tacky hotel, huge car park and busses everywhere. And yet a lone traveller has the place to herself. Just amazing. These are the places we all dream of finding.

Hi Itchy Boots! Hoping this reaches you… my Grandpa is one of your biggest fans.
My name is Megan. My grandfather’s name is Gary. He was diagnosed with cancer this last year. And despite multiple some-what successful surgeries to remove it, it has come back. His tumors have now tripled in size and he will most likely only be with us for another month or so. Unfortunately, he has been very sad lately.
My grandpa Gary is Itchy Boots’ biggest fan! He only talks about a few things these days, and the most talked about subjects are Itchy Boots’ adventures and UA-cam videos. Our family giggles when he gets so into explaining where she is going or where she went last. He isn’t able to move much, so he sits and watches UA-cam. However, even before he was immobile, we already knew who Itchy Boots was from all of his stories! ;)
Would there be any way we could get Itchy Boots to send a video of her saying hi to Grandpa Gary?
We live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Oregon, on the Columbia River. He has always loved the outdoors and enjoys when other’s do too.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Not sure where else to reach out, but thought I would give this a shot. It would be a total surprise to him. We just love him very much and this would brighten his days more than you know.
    Sincerely,
    Granddaughter, Megan

Now my age and health prevent me from riding at all. I live vicariously thru your road and trail adventures. I find myself hitching and dodging in my seat as you avoid and sometimes fail to avoid the obstacles you encounter. I've watched other riding programs but none of them manage to convey the feel and proximity to the road I feel in your videos. Thanks very much Noraly for your efforts reconnecting me to times past.

Well Noraly..... Your beautiful presentations have inspired this 70 year old man to go out and buy my first brand new motorcycle...and yes, it's a CRF300 Rally !!! Since I started riding 55 years ago I've been repairing and riding other people's old basket cases, so I'm completely stoked to have this brand new bike and get going down the back roads and trails. I hope to be in the beautiful Kootenai and Okanogan Valley areas later this year. Chances are pretty slim but if all the ducks were in a row it would be fun to meet up for a chit chat and a cup of coffee as you go your way through BC to Alaska. Absolutely love your video presentations, they are first class!! Looking forward to every new day of riding along on my TV LOL.

WOW Noraly, you made it...my heart was pounding when I saw that you took that road, I don't know if it was on your plans but it's worth it right? You know Rio Dulce it's a place full of backpackers and Livingston as well, and that's just a little part of Izabal, up north it's Peten and a lot of Mayans cities, the big ones, Charly went that way but the place is awesome too , again , thanks to show to the world my beautiful Guatemala

I know what that’s like, when you get stopped for construction, when they tell you to go again it is like a frenzy like you said, trying to race to get your helmet and gloves on before someone blows the horn, ha,ha. Those are some amazing places your finding in Guatemala ,thanks for sharing. ✌️

Wow - the drone view, showing all the houses, possibly farms, and small settlements tucked into the sides and on top of the mountains! What views these folks have from their porches. And, maneuvering the drone up through the canopy at the waterfall - super cool!

This week's videos have been outstanding and this area of Guatemala is magic but, I don't think I'll "get" this place unless I see it. I've watched Monday's video more than 10 times and I'll rewatch this one a lot too but, I feel like me getting the vibe is going to be like making someone that was born blind understand the color blue. I just don't have anything to put it in context. It's not just the waterfalls, the mountain views seem far different than anything I've seen before. Thank you very much for sharing.

Thanks for these impressions that brought me back to 2015, the time I visited Guatemala...unfortunately without a motorbike. So many amazing spots and the views in Alta Verapaz are unforgettable. You said that you still don't know where to go next, so maybe Flores and Tikal are an option. The wide spreaded Mayan Ruins deep in the forrest are absolutely impressive and worth a visit! And if you go there early in the morning (like in Semuc) maybe it is possible to avoid the crowds. Good and save travels :)

Yo también aprieto las piernas y el puño en tus descensos y subidas increíbles que en la cámara son imposibles de captar. Sin embargo nos haces cómplices de tu viaje y de cada lugar mágico. No importa la mala cara de algunas personas tu sonrisa y siempre buen ánimo pasa por alto esos malos momentos...un gran abrazo a la distancia...next to you and see you next video :)
