My bullmastiff is 5 months old, he is the absolute best! Can confirm he loves people! We take him to a dog park regularly and he also sees my parents dogs and and siblings dogs so he’s very well socialised. Love the videos
Love that look, he looks like a Beast!!! I had an English Bulldog and a French Bulldog but my next dog will definitely be a Bullmastif and these videos will be a great source, thanks!!!
That scanning at 7:30 is the same thing my boy does. It's hilarious to me lol. Bullmastiffs and corsos aren't ones to start fights, but they always finish them and when they do, it's with 100% force which is scary. But for the most part as long as nothing is hurting you or your kids especially, he won't care much.
Tua always makes me smile. :-) Then again, I don't have to smell his breath when it's bad, nor pick up his poo. Had a customer today who picked up some marrow bones for his black lab/Springer Spaniel mix. Told me he cooks them for the dog. I said what a spoiled dog. The old man told me he had a root beer float last night and didn't give the dog any ice cream. The dog went over to his wife on the other side of the couch, laid his paw right on top of her hand, and she had to get up and get him some ice cream. Smart dog!
@@bullmastiffnd9784 Tua is wonderful! Me and my wife watch your videos everyday since a few weeks! We are waiting for our first BM puppy and your videos are very useful for "unexperienced" as we are! This channel is better than a tv-series on Netflix!

Demo is turning 1 year this month and he is exactly like Tua. Drool is very rare just after drinking but like you said is more like water coming out. ( check out the neater feeder, it has gutters in it that drain the water into a tray below the bowls it catches a lot. ) Demo barks only in the back yard but just 2 or 3 barks a week just when he hears other dog. He is very good with kids and other dogs still after the long winter. More athletic than I thought too, he’s very fast. Thanks for all the great videos and info.
It's a work in progress but he is improving quickly! Ordered pizza on purpose this last weekend to test it. Doorbell rang. Brought him to his bed. Told him to stay. Went to the door. Chatted for 15-20 seconds with the pizza delivery person and he didn't move
Yes you are so right about barking they don’t bark unless there is a reason to. My guy doesn’t bark and my female didn’t bark unless she had a reason. A good quality to the breed. Rottweilers are not big barkers either. Glad to hear you did the Home Depot, hope the two of you enjoyed it, Sir loves to go there. I want to keep him friendly with people so I take him weekly. I know he is good with other dogs, there smaller but he still likes them. Need to look at your collar video Sir is growing out of his, 28 inch neck The Beast lol.
@@bullmastiffnd9784 oh yes. He loves everyone. He thinks the people at the Home Depot are there just to see him lol. They love it when we come for a visit so does lowes and Tractor Supply. We live out in the country so walking him doesn’t happen every day but he has 22 acres that I live on. He is still very skittish about going into the woods and when he sees deer. I’m hoping the woods Change. Not so worried about the deer.
my 5 month old pup is 57lb and I swear his body grows but his head hasn't grown anywhere near as quickly 😂. Do you remember roughly what month Tua's head started growing to fit in with his body? Thanks for all the updates. great seeing him develop
Off the top of my head can't remember exactly. But I know around a year old it really started sticking out to me how thick and massive his head was becoming
@@bullmastiffnd9784 Just as a side note for that handle collar you bought. If you want a leather version, Rogue Royalty sells one. only down side for you would be they are in Australia but do ship international. I will say, Handle collars work a treat when people come over.
Hi! Love all the videos. Can you share where you got his bowls and stand? I can't seem to find one that big. Size bowls? I think im looking for 17in bowls but can't find them with stand. Would love to get one for mine. Thanks.
Where did you get that collar that you walk him with? My Bullmastiff is 11 months and he gets overexcited when I play with him. Wants to jump into me at 120 lbs. What would you suggest?. My dog is like your's he loves people but has not been around children. My grandchildren are coming in June. What would you suggest in socialization area with them
The prong collar? We got that at a local pet store but they are available on Amazon and other places online as well. If you get one just be sure it is big enough and there is also extra links available that you can buy to add to it as they grow. Are you familiar with giving corrections with a choker collar or a prong collar? Just quick pops. You could practice him walking by your side in the house and doing other basic obedience like that with the collar on for you both to get familiar with it
I absolutely need to see 1 hour and a half of the sequence you see in the intro, while you touch his head and he looks at you in adulation... it could be therapeutic! ahahah
No definitely not. Tua still is in his crate daily and always when we aren't around. Just make sure it's not too small. I have made a couple of crate videos in the past. One pretty recent. Check them out if you're interested. Thanks for the comment!
My 1 year old stays in his crate still but he loves it in there. We hav a blanket over the top and inside. He will go in during the day for naps on his own. Every time he goes in drop a few treats in and it’ll become a happy spot for him and never ever use it as a punishment
You read these ? Let me ask you a question : A lot of my books say Do NOT play tug-a-War or wrestle with a Bull Mastiff . What do you think ? My English Mastiff , I throw his Balls and he goes & gets them , brings them to me , but doesn't give them to you , he WANTS to play tug - a - War ,,,,,,,,,,,,you can't Win . But He's Never aggressive with me .
I sure do! As far as rougher play like wrestling goes, I used to do a little of that with Tua when he was younger but now I usually just end up taking a paw to the face or getting scratched somewhere so it's not really my thing. But I never saw any aggression from him. Just over excitement leading to me getting banged up a little 😂I've never even heard Tua growl before. As far as tug of war goes. I've never been into that with any of my dogs regardless of breed. It can in so me cases lead to resource guarding but at the very least it can just be annoying when they don't let go when you want them to. If I'm playing fetch with Tua and it turns into a tug of war match like you are describing, I'm usually just over at immediately and walk away. His loss😂

If you have a backyard gate for the car it'd be usefull for that to be slatted, or barred/wrought iron to provide a view of the outside neighborhood. Another good boredom cheat is the side way gate (the divider between front and back yard), if you have a boundary like that slatted or picketed so your pet likewise can see outside onto the street, its an interest for him and beats complete boredom. If forced to spend extended time outside or inside, your pet will always favor the space that provides some view outside. Inside, if he's going to be alone for any while in the course of the day he'll want to be able to peek out from a window, doesn't have to be curtain/blind wholly up just enough for a dog (or cat) to watch your entryway and neighborhood traffic. Totally proven fact.
Unfortunately that's normal puppy behavior. Monitor them and do everything you can do avoid it. Plenty of chew toys etc. Mine wasn't a rock eater as a puppy but he definitely liked to chew on them from time to time. Actually broke one of his puppy teeth on one. Socks on the other hand he would eat like they were candy! They eventually grow out of these habits but it takes time
Dillon loves rocks and sticks. He uses them to get my attention. Constantly bringing them into the house. Drives me insane. He will drop them on occasion but I worry about whether he will swallow the rocks. Trained to drop the rocks for a treat but I think now I have caused it to be a game. These dogs need a lot of energy release activities and I think that's the problem. I am 65 and doing the best I can with my bad knees
Drooling Doesn't Matter , Everything else they do is so Perfect , a little Drool Doesn't Matter , I have an English Mastiff . Besides YOU bought that type of Dog knowing ahead of time that they Drool . Not a Complaint just saying .
