I agree, he should be ostracized by his peers. He chose that job and he should be a man and own his actions. He's a felon and at least skipped out on court. He knows who he is. If he weren't on the run and or in jail then I might give him some benefit of doubt depending on the time since last caught committing a crime. This guy is committing in I'm a criminal mode so if you're going to be dumb you've got to be tough.
It’s called the sunshine state because everything is shown. That’s why we have Florida man.😂 he’s not doing anything wrong if anything we need more sheriffs like this, not those cowards from Uvalde
Also, HE ruined his reputation by breaking the law. Not the cops. I could see if he was publicly strip searched or something, but not this. This is smart cops getting the public involved. That's kind of their job.
What difference does it make if the perps are in jail or not? What the Sheriff is showing is "public records" and the Public has a Right to see them, particularly if the Record is valid.
no, all of this is public record already. I have a good deal of legal experience, as I am studying at a law school, and have clerked at a law firm for a year. The problem with this is that because all of this info is public record, it's completely available to everyone at large. This lawsuit fails due to 2 things. One, there was no breach of a duty that the sheriff's office had. They essentially broke no rules, because they were merely dispersing publicly available info. But secondly, and very important if you disagree with point one, the case fails to prove causation, because one cannot really prove that but for the sheriff sharing his name, the loss of potential jobs and reputation would not have occurred. People in the community just as plausibly could have seen it when they conducted their standard background checks. There is next to zero basis for claiming that "but for the sheriff's actions, the damages to Gay's reputation would not have occurred." This is a legal term of art, and it must be met, it's called the "but-for test." This case is likely to fail, as a result. I'd be happy to reply to questions you have about it further, but it seems like this case is for the birds, as they say.
This happens everyday we got people at the sheriff's office who deliver legal documents to people some of them might be a warrant some might be an eviction notice.
