Something I would add to the taking more photos point. Sometimes when your progress is slow, you become convinced that your training program isn't working and that you're wasting your time. I had one of those moments not long ago, and I was SO thankful that I'd taken photos of myself on day one. I took current photos of myself and compared them to the day one photos, and by comparing the two I was able to see that I had made a lot more progress than I was seeing in my day to day life. If I hadn't of had that visual I probably would've given up! I've made it a point to keep taking photos so that I can show myself that I am making progress even if I can't always see it in the mirror or on the scale.

I've been taking photos recently as well, on days I feel okay about my body and days I don't. Taking the photos makes me feel comfortable with my body being in any state!

I would also add to the coach note, sometimes a physical therapist is a great first start! If you have chronic pain especially, or just weird issues, they can really hone in on what pace you should be going at so as not to hurt you more!

    For me:
    * Stop jumping on every diet there was. It was a waste of my money.
*I should have figured out my Macros first.
*Stop listening to people tell me how to eat when they were bigger than me.
    *Leave negative friends alone.

Having a personal trainer in the beginning is such a helpful tip! Someone who can fix my form and make me take things slower instead of blasting through a workout, such a game changer. I would also set a better bedtime for myself and get more sleep. What helps me is hearing from trainers and others who have been on a fitness journey that sometimes it takes a year or more to see a real change in body comp. Thank you for everything you share 💗🥰

Super helpful video. I just “restarted” my fitness journey last week (went through a rough period, used to teach spin classes and be very into fitness but haven’t actually exercised in almost a year) and I will take all of this advice. I’m hoping I can get back to where I was at my fittest which was only a couple years ago!

Even at 230 I should still do lifting to? What do you think about burn boot camp for massive weight loss?

I want to run a marathon, so I would need to do a lot of running. At the same time, I don’t wanna give up lifting… any tips?

Thank you for these tips! What's your take on pilates for petites? I feel like it might be a good option for me as I hate cardio but also shouldn't lift more than 2 kilos (health-related restriction). Can pilates be enough to get in a good shape? I'm what people call "skinny fat" right now.

Building muscle is the only way to have that toned look. Building muscle requires resistance training. Which can be in many forms. Bands, weights, etc. Pilates can definitely help tone your body but it will not help you build muscle, if that’s what you’re going for. I do body weight exercises and one day of Pilates, it’s great to target the muscles you never even knew you had, deep within. But it won’t add mass, if that makes sense.

I’m obese, would you still recommend focusing on weight lifting over cardio?

Could you please suggest more books about bing eating?
I am currently reading brain over bing.

That honestly is the only one I can recommend - I am not an expert on eating disorders but I really liked that book and it helped me with my emotional eating a lot!

Ask your doc about Vivanse. It’s an adhd med but is being use d for BED. I had bulimia and BED for 25 years. Bad. I started vivanse and have been binge free for over a year!
