    Hi!!!! Could you do a video on healthy, high protein meals for a pescatarian/vegetarian??? I find it so hard. Love your videos!

      @Ameameame48 2 роки тому +6

      Yes!! I eat the same way. :) If it helps, I personally like to make egg drop soup (veggie stock, veggies, and eggs), tuna sandwiches, veggie bowls with edamame and salmon, and deviled eggs.

      Yes please! I'm vegetarian and I try to eat a lot of eggs, beans etc, but I find it kind of hard to get more variety in.. :)

      I routinely eat kidney beans, chickpeas, and lentils throughout the week! Easy to just mix in with a grain :)

      I also season and roast chickpeas and eat those as a snack!! About 20g of protein in a half cup! Easy to take these on the go!

    Great video. I love how you shared what you are doing as an athlete but pointed out that it takes time to build habits. Most of you viewers including me are probably more recreational healthy lifestyle focused.

    Question 🙋🏼‍♀️ how are you not losing weight eating 1500 a day? That’s what I’m eating to lose weight I’m 5 1 .5

      What do you maintain on & how much do you exercise?? & do you know what you maintain on without exercise? I’m 22, 5’2 & 104lbs only workout 4x a week but I’m eating 1800 calories & am so confused on how someone can be strength training & eating 1500 as maintenance. (I don’t mean that in a negative way, it just truly confuses me). i thought I needed around like 1400 without any exercise at all & now I’m not even sure bc I’m scared lol.

    • @michellebradley05
      @michellebradley05 2 роки тому +1

      @@rileydickerson5185 I think she’s eating 1500 because she wasn’t working out during that time. You can eat more because your only 22 I’m 41 and it’s so much harder unfortunately when i was your age I could eat so much more and not gain weight.

    Im not sure if you’ve done a video about this topic before but I would love to get recommendations on what athletic clothes to wear for small women. I am 4’11 and i can’t ever find cute matching sets because i hate the way it looks rolled at my ankles, they are always too long. Also i would love recommendations on a good brand that is for sensitive skin, i feel like i always get irritated down there when i wear leggings from Ross or Marshall’s

    Is 1,500 not a deficit even for us petites?

    • @AprilVWhitney

      It depends on the person!

      1500 is too much for me if I don’t work out. I would gain weight if I eat more than 1100 calories a day (without working out)

  • @elsiejasel
    @elsiejasel 2 роки тому +7

    So your maintenance calories is around 1,500?? Isn’t that a deficit?

    • @AprilVWhitney

      Nope! "Maintenance" is different for everyone - it's not a set number

      Most of us are "petites" ,but she is on the shorter side than most of us.
      She's like 5 ft or 5'1 ft.
      And like she said, she's less active than previous months.
      Personally, I would gain weight on 1500, but I'm less active and still don't lift, lol.

      Yeah it is quite low even for a petite woman.

      I was going to say the same thing - I would think 10k steps & weightlifting would contribute to a TDEE or maintenance calories of at least 1800. sounds very low for such an active lifestyle….

    how do you calculate if you hit your macros in a day, especially protein. you said your goal for now is 115g, so do you search each food in order to see how much protein it has, carbs, etc? do you just learn it with time?

    • @catherine380

      I use an app called MyFitnessPal to track all of that. It makes it so much easier. There are several apps like that one but that’s just the one I use and I like it.

    1500 calories for maintenance is pretty low tbh even if you are short. Mine is 1800-1950 and I’m 4’11 /112 pounds.
    Honestly it sounds like you’re underrating.

      Thanks for this thread, y'all. I'm 5' and switched from bulking to cutting and I'll end the day at 1600-1700 only to get hungry before bed and close out at 1800-2000. The struggle is real.

      I’m 5’2 and if I eat over 1100 (when not exercising) I gain weight super quick. If I workout, I can eat around 1500. Some of us have slow metabolism

    • @catherine380
      @catherine380 5 місяців тому

      I’m 5’4” with a small frame, and if I consistently eat 1500 calories per day (adjusted even after exercise) I start to gain weight. My maintenance calorie amount is probably closer to 1300-1400. I guess my metabolism is much slower than it used to be since having two children and making my way into my 30’s. Everybody is different.

    Great vid! Quick question about training splits!
    I’ve done mostly total body workouts 4-5 times a week, which I enjoy because I feel my muscles are more consistently getting worked. But I recently switched to an upper/lower body split, for 4 times a week total plus one hiit session. Its good because I can push specific muscle groups further and make use of some more isolation exercises. But I’m also finding it weird because it just feels like there’s a huge gap of 2-3 days before hitting the same muscle group again. So my question I guess is when is it appropriate to change up your workout splits, and for what purposes can each be best for achieving? I’m gonna stick with the upper/lower for the sake of my current program, so I will see how I feel but the end of it, but just wondering how do you feel whenever you change up your splits?

    Great info. I’m 65 and 5’3 fluctuate between 127-130. Working out 6-7 days a week. Have injuries but able to do hard workouts and split my workout routines. It’s been very little changes abs I’ve been at this for 6 plus months. Also doing macros and drinking 100 ounces of water. Any thoughts for older women whose metabolism is much slower?

    Can you make a video about which exercises help an inverted triangle who is 4”11. I want to grow my glutes mostly and my thighs but not so much. I just don’t want to be so shoulder heavy. How can I balance it? Also I want to have firm arms but not bulky. Help please 😳

    10k steps is sooooooo hard for me to get. I work in tech, remotely from home and am stuck to a screen most of the day. I try to take little breaks and walk, but I usually end up at around 4k steps a day. Ugh! When I was a personal trainer I usually got around 8k. I don’t know if I’ve ever hit 10k ! Maybe when I used to visit theme parks as a kid lol

    guys I have a question, as regular suggestion of 0.8g protein per lb of bodyweight I should consume only 85g (i'm 108lb) but being a mix of mesomorph and endomorph who have low carb tolerance and was advised to 30%protein equivalent to around 120g (1400kcal plan). Huge different, what should I follow then?
