What a nice lock especially the interactive pin. Picking this in the wild is going to present an issue if you don't know about the magnet. This is the kind of standard all manufacturers should try to strive for.
Dude.. get in and practice then!! Sit down and just hit locks for hours whenever you get the chance to.. it may not come up or happen often but consistency is the whole deal... Unless of course being proficient at certain locksmith abilities isn't really something you need or want in your life then don't I suppose 😂 I was trying to just give an encouraging word when it occurred to me that maybe you don't need or want encouragement lol that it's just a occasional pass the time hobby like the way some people do / buy hanayama puzzles, they're not trying to be Chris Ramsay but they enjoy the occasional puzzle. Anyway if you want it you can definitely do it anyone can!! And if you're happy where you're at then I'm happy for you to LOL
Nice pick job. Now I'm thinking of a front door in the wild and I guessing nobody will bother to pick it and will choose a different entry approach. Even though you showed it can be picked, I can the see the value* to the lock company showing how involved it was and how long a picker would be exposed even if suitably equipped. * Cost of the lock and postage. Good content for you, good advertising for them. (-;
Nice picking there. If you have a look,in to it think it is a re branded federal cylinde, they are the same company that used to make the Ultion and the old Era 3 star cylinders. Federal make a lot of cylinders, lol
16:45 I think it's pretty good... I picked it in about 2 minutes but I think it's pretty good😂😂😂 I mean for real though I get it, it is a wonderful lock you are a highly skilled picker, still just easy to find humor in it you know
@LockNoob totally agree, perfect conditions for success it's.. well it's kind of the same as suspending your disbelief to enjoy an over-the-top action movie, sometimes you just suspend common sense or obvious facts for the laugh 😂
Professional picking lock work and good lock. Honestly, this is the first time I see how the magnet works inside the cylinder lock. I think the same principle applies to the European vachette cylinder? Thank you for the clarification.
Hi Lock Noob excellent video as always you truly are a master of the art of lock picking.I am a very amateur lock geek of sorts ,but my question is not of this video but the term locksmith where did it originate from were locksmiths the first manufacturers of locks as in blacksmiths made all sorts of iron products .just a curious little question from me .kindest regards and thank you so much for all you do for all of us .Mick 👍
Just got my first lock picking set yesterday. I find I can get on a roll and open the locks in 2 seconds. Then 5 minutes later same pick and same lock takes ne several minutes. Obviously I'm a total noob. But it just seems like it's more of a feel than I thought it would be. At least it's not as frustrating as it was first learning guitar. But it's definitely similar patience required
This happens to the best of them buddy, once you start getting into some more advanced locks you will start to develop the finesse that will allow you to sit down and pop anything you like with little effort 👌
So I'm doing other things and got distracted and kind of let the video drift in the background I looked down as he's saying / displaying magnetic key pin and the magnet on the key that pulls it down so it can rotate... And I'm like DID HE PICK THAT!!?? 😂😂😂 How? So crazy dude the master I got to watch this video again now. And I'm referring to the end where he actually has the cylinder out not the beginning of the video when he's talking about the magnet
You honestly just need to be able to identify the lock by the brand and keyway. There are only a handful of locks with magnetic elements and they are all quite distinct
Likely impossible if you don't know what and where that magnet goes, but I'm sure you could find a picture of a key online that would give you a good enough idea!
If you never picked one before, very hard. The more you practice a type of lock, the easier it is to pick blind. Have a look on my channel for our of the box or blind picks

That was very nice Pro locks to send that to you, it was equally nice of you to say nice things about that.
Is that irony ?

Ash, you silver fox you, good job, I don't practice enough but have followed you for years. Keep up the good work. 😊

lol thank you 🤩
Bravo on that lovely lock and superb pick
Thank you
Very nice lock. Most people would not be able to open that lock. Thanks for sharing this information and video of yours.
Happy New Year too you 🎄🙏
Very sporting of the company, and they picked the right person. Nicely picked, and I agree, it's the locks that make us grey :). Thanks.
😅

Great picking ✌️✊️👍 Congratulations 😎
Well picked! Seems like a good lock 👍👍

No one has this design only prolox
@steveofstevens7557 ok maybe a high bread as it looks like the Federal, but with the passive pins front the ultion U.
And just to add, they are a very good cylinder against picking and, most importantly, against physical attack. ❤
Picked this about a month ago, but nice picking
fantastic video Ash mate don't blame the lock for the hair🤣👍😊🇬🇧😎👊
It’s the locks I swear, Leon!
@LockNoob 🤣🤣🤣
Impressive lock and even better pick!

I see your point lol 😂 but it’s in very controlled conditions, in the warm, after practice

Nice one Ash

nice informative video
prolox should've sent lock in a generic box and key hidden so you can't see anything before picking.
Yes, would have been a challenge, but it’s not really my thing and they are excellent sports
That's a great looking lock!

5:58 Hair leaked FOR THE FIRST TIME🫣
Speaking of rare did you get a paclock RD655 limited run lock? There's only 200 of them in the world
I was here within the first hour!
Your grampa kept leaning over your shoulder and getting his head in the shot. 🙃
😂

I would rather pick the door thank you very much
Very good job! And a awesome lock! But one question, how can you identify a magnetical pin without the key?
You honestly just need to be able to identify the lock by the brand and keyway. There are only a handful of locks with magnetic elements and they are all quite distinct
Very nice pick. This is WAY above my ability. Just curious, how much harder would this be without being able to inspect the features on the key first?
Likely impossible if you don't know what and where that magnet goes, but I'm sure you could find a picture of a key online that would give you a good enough idea!

Who makes extra keys if needed? 🇺🇸
Judging by that registration card, I'd say you're required to go through ProLox (or perhaps an authorized agent, if they have such a program).
You have Grey hairs? I'm 12, and I just started picking
🎉😮🎉
