I grabbed this set as I had just gotten into lock sport. For a beginner, it has been an awesome set to have! Thinner picks have allowed me to practice picking all the locks I need to.
You can put the ergo turners in the right thin pocket between the center and the flap. Then when you close it, be sure the bit end is between the first and second pic from the right. Hope that makes sense.
Great tutorial. I recently bought the Genesis kit. To my surprise, I pick my three locks in no time flat. I wish Covert Instruments sold pick and cases separately but can't seem to find them if they do. Am Handicapped and find the handles to be very comfortable. Myy only trouble is feeling the pins set.
Just need abit more practice and you’ll get hang of set pins. Maybe take out a few pins so ya just have three and work on just the feeling of set pins. I promise this will help after a few hundred sets😉. Hope this helps homie🤘😎
I picked up the TOK ergo turners (the original set has 4 different thickness options) last fall when I realized that -- at the time-- Covert Inst. was the only company making such a turning tool. Not sure if that's changed, but glad to see them included in a standard kit like this. Great review as always.
What a coincidence! I just received mine this week along with the genesis set and other tools and practice locks. I was surprised how small these tools were. On youtube they seemed huge! 😅 I wish I got the Lishi tool for SC4 and AM5 as well as the two decoders for combination locks
I ordered one of these for their July 4th sale for the case and I can always use more picks. Especially since my Dangerfield Praxis set sprung a leak and I lost some of my .20 stuff. My Multipick locknoob Ayoob would look nice in there but it broke 3mo. after I got it exactly where it meets the handle. Raked and pulled the cylinders on 3 5-pin Schlage (very quickly, it does work very well on certain bitting) to re-key and the fourth locked up hard on a forward stroke and it snapped surprisingly easily at the handle. I am wary of the sandwich handles as a result but I am keeping an open mind. The Praxis and Polaris set has withstood over a year of picking/raking in use locks without any issue.
I like this as a pocket set and carry it regularly with a few additions; I added a snake rake (Southord Max in 0.020”), a snowman, the covert genesis picks with their tensioners, and a broken key extractor. The Southord Max picks in 0.020” are great picks and about the perfect thickness, size, and strength. I like the kit as a good grab and go as it can do most all I need to do.
🎶In echelon we carry on. Oh, nothing will stop the Air Force. Oh, nothing will stop the US Air Force. Air Force!🎶 Seeing the name of this pick set made me think of that song, and Doctor Who was NOT my introduction to the song. I knew the song prior to seeing that particular special, and I loved hearing it in there because I love that song. There was a time where the lyrics said Army Air Corps instead of US Air Force, but that would've been WW2 and for a little while afterwards until the name change occurred.
I dont know when guads n quints have become STANDARD 😳🤷🏼😝. But i’d love a go with some. Now the triples and doubles be standard😜. Great review! Wished I could afford to go buy. Ya sold me on em🤘😎‼️
I find that TOK works best but BOK is usually easier to execute. Sometimes on Schlage I notice it BOK will bind on the bottom of the hull because of the shape of the warding making it harder to get feedback. Realistically it's preference for whatever works best for a solid engagement and full feedback which in my opinion is the most important part of picking like prep before paint. TOK is more likely to apply even force but can be pulled out by your pick easier or rotate out under counter rotation because less tool is actually inside the plug typically. BOK usually applies the force further from the center which can cause more vagueness in your tension feedback. It also provides less room to maneuver under low set pins to reach high set pins without over setting the low pins with the shaft. I don't really pick for sport or hobby though, I mainly pick in use locks (legally) so that's what I have learned so far from experience, make sure you read up in other words.
I do like CI tools, the only problem is the postage. I normally only order when they have sales, so I can do a bigger order and makes the postage worth it. Then you get slapped with charges from HMRC.. Suppose its swings and roundabouts. I would order more if the postage could be lowered. Take Care ⭐️
Luck of the draw with customs - sometimes I get stuff and don't get customs charges, then another time - like buying this set along with the replicant and a few other items, i got fleeced by customs for fifty quid!
I wish CI would get their head out of their asses and sell picks and bypass tools individually. I want to make my own echelon set but dont want half the shit in it. And add my own tools.
Don’t buy his things his return policy is bullshit He does not return the items that he sells you. He over prices them says they are so good but then you receive them and their flimsy don’t work worse Lock I’ve ever used
This is my first real set, finding it quite friendly to someone new to the sport.
The tiny pockets in the hinges are meant for the folded tensioners they fit nicely
Like for Lishi tools? Bc I have like 7 different ones. Figured I could skip the Genesis tools, grab this one and try to make room for my Lishi sets. 🤔

Loved that cut when talking about the RFID card.😊
I love my Echelon set! Swapped out for the black Garrison case.

Dang, nice suggestion! I didn't even notice that was technically a pocket, but it works 😁 I put some of my bent wiper blades in the other side

@@SadisticPicker subscribed big dog gonna binge your video tonight and tomorrow
Heads up, CI just added the “Chop-Shop” section which is singles and all the cases
Some people avoid grips because of that

The thin slots where the pouch folds would probably be a good place for the bent turning tools so the would lie flat when the pouch is folded up.

You should have your own brand of lockpicks, too! I would definitely buy them!

I have this set as well. I agree with all of your conclusions. I also agree it half diamond would make a cool addition. Good review.
I want those tension wrenches, I try to carry more tension wrenches than picks
The RFID sleeve is for credit cards, so that people can't scan them. Great review thanks.
the dimple rake can be used to pick a few master locks without needing a tension tool which can be handy
Nice Set Ash mate great video 👍👊🇬🇧😎😊
i love this set. now if they had a dimple pick like a flag for right and left. or just and regular one. anyway great set. love the video m8
Agreed, would be the perfect set with the add on of the .25's

Good video. I like this set but it's not only 20 more for this over the Genesis set. I wish
I got mine on sale, so yeah, you’re right
Is there a functional difference between top of the key way and bottom of thr key way? Or is it just user preference?

I just purchased the echelon set after having used the genesis and am hoping the different turners will help me with security pin issues I’m having
I replaced the rfid card in mine for the Sparrows Hall Pass.
When I started the video, I half expected to hear "This is the Lock Picking Lawyer..."
Is that dimple rake instead meant for those bike locks that have dimples and sliders? Just a thought.
I want the case most of all!!
They sell it on covert instruments. Search “garrison case”
👍👍
This ergo turners are nice! WOW. Much better than Sparrows wavy ones.
I also got the sparrows ones and I 100% agree
Thank you Lock Noob. :)

Dove acquistare?
Low security dimple locks sounds like an oxymoron to me!
20:33 extra 20?
The genesis costs 28$ (at least in the us) and the echelon costs 70$ (again, us)
So what happens if you break one pick? Do you buy the set over lol
Nice review I loved it❤❤
Can’t wait till they have handles out, the ergo turners are so nice if you don’t use a vice
It's 28 minutes long, posted 5 minutes ago and you dropped this comment seconds after 😂

Rumor has it, they will be selling individual soon… maybe even this summer.

I agree with @TRIIGGAVELLI
They have it in their Chip Shop now. Selling individual pieces and cases.
CI should’ve sent it as a gift 😎
Can I just buy the case?
Yes!
Garrison pick case on Covert Instrument's website, it costs $17.50 USD
So sad sorry to watch such a terrible tragedy to see how far a master can fall
