You forgot Saint-Germain-des-Prés. It's one of the most expensive area to live in because it's also the most charming one. Lot's of art galleries, restaurants and sophisticated french people. It should definitely be mentioned in my opinion.
I agree!!!
As a local, who used to live and work in Saint-Germain des prés... this area and Montparnasse are closely related, for many reasons. Just an exemple : Miles Davis couldn't help but haunt all jazz-clubs in Saint-Germain des prés, he was then barely famous but made himself a name. He already was hugely talented, but reached fame in Paris. Dating the great singer Juliette Gréco helped a lot and many doors would open thanks to her, helping settling his reputation as a unique trumpet-player. Then, many other jazz-clubs opened in the closest (hip) area : Montparnasse. This is why those two "arrondissements" are so connected, they share similar intellectual and artistic populations.
About Quartier latin, things are different : it's the place where the greatest Universities and Faculties were settled, hence the name "latin" as teaching used to be done exclusively in Latin until the very end of the "Middle age". It was an area were party-time was not on the schedule, studies were the only thing of importance. For instance, during the XIII th century, when Theology was a "hard" science, anyone in the Université de Paris would speak/write/read Latin fluently. This heritage from the Roman presence was not questionned, and only the XIX th century would settle French as the "modern" idiom to use for teaching. Also a revolution !
Of course you could find some exceptions, but Quartier ("kar-tee-ay") latin was (and still is) more about learning and teaching than anything else. If you want to party, some jazz-clubs manage to survive in Saint-Germain des prés but times are tough for them. Many heritage book-shops have closed under the pressure of "rag merchants", as fashion boutiques are now the majority in was used to be the musical heart of Paris. So, hurry up if you want to catch a glimpse of the 1950's swingin' Paris !!!
Totally agree! Great area indeed
I agree. I always stay there when I’m in Paris.
75 rue Cardinal Lemoine
Emily in Paris is in the 5th arrondissement behind tha Pantheon. I live there. Camera teams there all the time.
Don't forget the Arenes de Lutece in the 5th. Roman arena.
Love the more down to earth reviews! Love seeing all your adventures!
Great work on this video! So concise, practical, informative, and not too lengthy! I appreciate the map clips and just a handful of recommended places to eat in each location!
Great insight. One of the Paris videos I've seen while planning a trip. Super informative, everything a traveller needs to know.
Sad that I missed your video before we went to Paris. You guys did a great job of giving the best tips to enjoy Paris. Thank you. 😊💕
This is by far the most detailed and helpful video I've seen about Paris and its neighborhoods! THANK YOU! 😃
What a great video! I have watched a lot of videos about Paris and this one is probably the most useful.
Thanks for sharing your personal perspective and experiences in Paris...very useful! Un gros merci.

Thank you! My husband and I are planning our very first trip to Paris and your video was very helpful! Merci!
For someone not knowing what to expect when being in Paris your overview is as natural as it gets..no sense of gilding the lilly..what an amazing city..
This helped us SO MUCH. It was how we found your channel. I am so happy we watched this before booking our hotel. Thank you!
Thank you for this. I will be traveling to France very soon and really wanted more info about it especially the restaurant picks.
Thank you for the amazing content! You are lovely people ❤
Thank you so much! You guys have just made planning my trip an absolute joy opposed to an absolute minefield! Subscribed! X

Thanks so much to both of you for this informative video. Good narration and lots of details specifically to first- time tourists. It's in my bucket list to go to Paris and keep in mind all the pertinent info you've given. Kudos for sharing! Merci! C'est la vie!❤️👏🇵🇭🤗
Hello 👋 compliment of the season, how are you and your family doing?
I LOVE your channel. I've been to Paris and will go again. I'll enjoy it in a completely different way after learning so much from Les Frenchies. Thank you! How about these video ideas... a comparison of the bouillons in Paris, a visit to Chartres, best gardens in Paris, best cheap places to stay, mini tours of some of the museums such as the Marmottan, the Ludique, Galiera- well there's a long list. Again, thanks for the terrific videos.
Wow, this channel is awesome. You guys got it spot on with the vibe, communities, and local color! Exactly what I am looking for, since I am visiting Paris in the spring. Thank you for the info...:)
Thanks for your honesty on the safety issues in some neighborhoods! Most vlogs avoid to say those things, it's very helpful when you plan on going to Paris with kids.
Yes, although I would definitely avoid cheap hotels around train stations. They suck. They really really suck.
Love the content from your channel! Keep it up!!
BRILLIANT VIDEO GUYS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING US 🌎👏💙
I can't think of any other youtube channel that explains the specifics of a city from tourist perspective. Amazing and unique way of presentation. Really appreciate.
Thanks for the upload. I stayed around Opera area in 2017. Loved it. I missed visiting Versailles then and hope to visit soon when this pandemic is under control. Definitely want to stay around the Latin Quarter as recommended.
Our favorite area
Thank you for the great info. I used this video as my guide to book my summer travels to Paris. I'm looking forward to seeing all these sights in person.
I just found your channel and what a great video. I have been to Paris a number of times. For 2 months in the 80's - a looong time ago as well as a few other times back then. In December I got the chance to return and absolutely fell back in love. So I've booked another trip for next month just for a week to stay in an apartment, use the metro, make much of my own food and check out neighborhoods. I am seriously considering making the move there in the next year or 2. Your video really gave me some great ideas of things to check out in the neighborhoods - and the vibe of each. I have always stayed in the 6th, so that's where I am this time, but I look forward to maybe spending each day in one of your new suggestions. Thanks again and I'll be having a look at all your other videos now! : )
Love your videos! What a big help where to stay eat!! Well done!! 😄👍🏻👋🏻
Your guides are really helpful, please keep it up and post also other places :D
Nicely done. Thank you. 👌🏽✨
Thank you for wonderful video! Love it so much! It is really interesting and motivating! Cannot wait when all of us start travel again! Thank you for helping to promote tourism! xx
Really like your videos, so sympathetic and helpful. Cheers!
This has been the BEST video I have watched on Paris THUS FAR and I know that's not saying much but I have a list and I've seen about 34 so far. THIS video has been helpful even though it is after the fact, I am glad I booked a hotel in an area that will work for a family trip and you just confirmed it!
Loved it!! Thank you 😊💗
Awesome video, just what I was looking for.
The area is just super 🤗 Loved it 😇😇 Keep moving.. Bigg support 👍👍
You two are amazing! Thank you for all the great tips :)
I will be traveling to Paris alone this coming summer of 2023. I am so relieved to have stumbled upon your channel! Very detailed yet concise. Most helpful! Merci!!!
Loved the details...sure will come in handy for my trip. Thanks for providing such great insights
Beautiful places! Thank you very much for sharing!
Thank you for sharing your tour here of great places there in Paris.
Thank you so much for this video, it is really helpful!
I live in Brussels and it’s about one hour from here to Paris with Thalys. Everywhere you go so much history, and such a great city to explore.
Very nice and informative quick tour of Paris. Thank you both. AVOIR!
Thank you, very helpful specially when it is mote than 30 years since we were visiting Paris.
In Paris and just discovered your channel, albeit on my last day full day tomorrow. Still, thank you so much for the good tips -- and at least I will have great local meals my last day! And, love the hotel breakdown. Fabulous. Thank you!!!
So informative. The most well illustrative guide I have seen so far!
Just discovered this excellent channel. Enjoyed the video!
Thanks. This was very informative. I’m planning on visiting Paris for the French Open tennis late May/early June.
Thx for putting together the information.
You two are so cute, love your videos! We’ll be in paris soon and your videos have been so helpful. Just subscribed :)
Give the couple a big thank you. Paris trip will become a bit easier now.
Thank you for sharing🤩 🙏🏾I like it, this is recommended 👍🏾👍🏾
Greetings from Bali🏖️ Indonesia🇮🇩 🙏🏾🤗
Very helpful glad found your Vlog . New subscriber here as I’m
Planning to go back there in summer 🥰
Thks, 👍...very helpful on my 1st trip to Europe next yr!
I have stayed often in Paris. Always on a budget. I enjoy what you call the Gare du Nord area. My favourite place to eat is a little cafe restaurant near Gare de l’Est. I like the international flavour . There is one area which reminds of living and working in West Africa. Yes it’s very urban and not touristy, but it’s fascinating. It’s an easy walk to the canal area. And of course metro to anywhere. By the way I’m 80 and will be back there this fall.
I am missing Paris a lot. 😢 Thanks for the nice video!
Great video, I'm going in 3 weeks , really useful, thank you 😘😘
Very helpful!!!! I love Paris!
Thank you, it's an amazing video. I live at 35 km but you know Paris more than i do. Bravo 😀
So nice to hear from you two again.Fully agree with all of your places & descriptions, though I never considered La Gare du Nord. I do wish you could have mentioned the short distances between most of these spots (except for
Montmartre). For newbies, this would have been helpful in making a final decision. Now back to more of your vlogs.
Well done. Thanks!
Just found your channel. Great video. Liked and subbed!
I have been to Paris a dozen times and have always enjoyed my time there. Three or four times, I have stayed in apartments - not hotels - within a block of the Filles du Calvaire Metro station. It is in the 11º, right across the street from the 3º. Another terrific place that I absolutely *LOVED*, and stayed for a full month, was within one block of the Marché d'Aligre - all for a very authentic experience, surrounded much more by locals than by tourists.
I enjoyed watching your amazing video 🤗 Thank you👍👍👍😊
Thank you for the video. We are going to Paris this summer, and booked something in the Latin area, so I am glad you said that you like that area. We have travelled a lot, but for some reason Paris overwhelms me since everything is so spread out. I was second guessing staying in this area, since it seems to be far from all the major sites...
Many thanks for this video ♥
Good informative sharing. Thanks
Amazing video! Thank u very much!!!!
Excellent video. Thank you!
This channel was recommended, new subscriber. 🤗
Brings up fond memories of Paris! Wished I’m back there again…
@@LesFrenchiesTravel hotels are never cheap in Paris...
Very Helpful!
Good information, and great energy.
Nice vidio sir & maam... your new subscriber... God Bless both of you ..
Thanks, we are doing 16 days in Europe, we are doing a few hostel stays. Madrid is a hotel and in Barcelona but in Paris we are doing a hostel in the Montarte area "the tallest point in Paris" I think. But for the 2 of us including air, stays and trains from each city is $2100 total for us both.
I’ve really enjoyed your channel after discovering it a couple of weeks ago. Please could you do a video of the 5 or 10 most luxurious hotels in Paris for a special occasion? Also, could you maybe do videos of areas outside of Ile de France? Maybe somewhere like Provence this summer? Can’t wait for more videos!😊
You guys are so gooood with what you do. Thank you!
Thanks - I'm coming in May and this helped me figure out where to book hotels
really useful and interesting!
Thanks for sharing all this I do about Paris for travellers on your videos! Amazing
Great channel ,great format, not overwhelming! You should have a Parisian tour service for Americans! The restaurant selection looks superb!
@@LesFrenchiesTravel could you guys do me a favor, if you will?
Could you make a list of all of the restaurants you listed in
the different area, along with their specialty, so when I go,
I can start making a systematic plan to visit them all over
a period of several visits!this would be a great help to. Me
for sure! If you would group them into arrondissements, It
would be great! Otherwise, I will have to rewind the tapes
several times!thank you for your help. I can send you my
address ore mail, Thomas MRtin
Enjoyed your fast paced commentary and Restaraunt highlights. Merci!
Thanks for all your effort. It helps me preparing my first solo encounter with this amazing city. Love and support from the Allier region ❤️
If you are going alone, do some research on pickpockets and men hanging around the train stations. I didn't feel safe there with a friend, I would't go alone, but suit yourself.
planning a stay with my older family members! you're channel has been so helpful in finding things to do in France that they will enjoy :)
Greetings from Singapore. I love your channel. Its really informative and helpful. Planning a trip to Paris and this channel is what I need. Cheers
I hope you like the city. It’s the most beautiful city in the world in my opinion but I might be a little biased. But the city has flaws, it’s certainly less clean than Singapore, also watch out for pickpockets, especially around the Eiffel Tower and in Montmartre.
Really useful video, thank you!
So useful!
That's great 💯
wonderful video!!!!
This is the first time I come across your channel, and this video. It has been a blessing: You have made a perfect stranger feel like family from the very outset. Thanks.
I really love your videos ❤️
Woohoo you showed a pic of the hotel we are staying in the Latin quarter in June! So exciting 😎
Another nice video. My favorite : Opera area.
Another great little tour of Paris. I love the little rue des Barres (behind the church of S Gervais - at 4:56+), where the little shop run by nuns sells yummy chocolate. Ile S Louis is lovely too - with the best ice cream shop in Paris. Pleased you mentioned the Parc Monceau (allegedly the snootiest park in Paris) because I come from the English village of Herstmonceux - pronounced Herst-m'n-soo in English. :)
Great video!
