Thanks for the tip. Very simple to reach under the bumper, untwist the bulb housing and replace the bulb. Took me 3 mins max. At 500 Kms on my Powerboost the bulb housing was showings signs of the plastic scorching.
Same here, and nothing... I gave up due to all the removals Ford is making on the 2022. Just bought a 2021 Limited 4x4 Powerboost with 2k miles from the General Manager at a dealership in TX.
May 8th is when the email told me my 5.0 will be coming in to my local dealer. If it will really happen or not, I don’t know. Looking at a 10 month wait total. If I wasn’t a small UA-camr depending on this 5.0 coming in then I may have changed my order to a bigger dealership so that I can get it in faster. That’s how it was for me for a long time, just silence. Which is bs we should be getting updates on our $50,000+ purchase. XPLOR did something else I may have done and just looked for a 2021 he liked with a low to no mark up and bought that. Thank you both for watching and commenting!
I just reached under the bumper and squeezed the clips together with my fingers and pushed the housing out to change my lights! Still a good video, keep them coming!
Thanks for posting this. I had ordered the pry tool(s) together with the bulbs. I went back to this video, saw your comment and cancelled the pry bar. May be a good idea for the author to either update the video and/or pin your post somehow. Prying the plastic mounts from the top is complete misinformation.
Changed my bulbs today. Worked well by reaching under the bumper to release the tabs. Looks so much better now.. Thanks for the idea. Next is a tailgate log

Looked like your pin was coming out of the hitch. Just ordered a new Lariat Powerboost yesterday with spray in bed liner and a hitch so looks like we’re waiting 6-8 months.
Lol never mind I find it thanks ….. by the way I’m in Canada and it’s sound like I’m getting my lariat faster than you ….it’s so all over the place right now…my delivery date was supposed to be Mai 18 , but dealer call me yesterday to ask if Saturday was good to pick up the truck,!,!!….order date was October 21 2021 almost 6 months

Great video. Just swapped mine out with Sylvania 6000k 194w-led. Easy swap. I squeezed the light housing out from bottom of the bumper. Much easier and potentially less damage vs using pry tool or flathead. Such a great mod. Disappointed Ford cheaper out this year.
I did the same. Easier and no risk of damage. My hands were too big to get in there and twist them back in though. My wife did that part in 30 seconds though.
Been driving my new powerboost now for a week. roughly 400 miles and I think she's finally breaking in nicely. Last 6 trips all roughly 35 miles....22.8mpg, 21.9mpg, 24.2mpg, 23.5mpg, 25.2mpg, 24.2mpg....all in Normal Mode. Lariat FX4 Longbed CrewMax I'll take those numbers all day long! Good tip on the lights. My '22 came without LED's. It also came without the Box lighting that I had on my order when placed in Dec of '21. I negotiated with the dealer to take an additional $1,500 off MSRP because of the omission's on my '22 that were optioned when I ordered in '21. Kinda pissed I didn't get the box lighting, but I still love the truck.
Right there with you. It pissed off all three of us when we found out that it’s not standard on 22s when we order 21s and they forced us to switch them. Those mpg are pretty good. We find that if you stay below 2RPM for a long period of time then you can get upwards of 40mpg. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Tim, when you say every light, which lights did you change? I have had my F150 for a week and the license plate sockets were already seeing signs of burning! I just replaced the license plate bulbs. Would love to update other lights, but not sure which ones need it.
@@montanairishman I changed my head light's and fog light's. The license plate light's. My tail light's and reverse light's. Then the interior light's. All except the dashboard light's. They are way better than the factory light's. It is really bright outside the truck and the inside. You can see really good on the inside with theses light's. It makes a big difference. I love them and they work great 👍 👌

If you don’t want to remove the housing you can just go under your bumper and twist the lightbulb housing towards the front of your truck. The whole assembly slides out while leaving the cover in place, and pop your new ones in that way as well. Used your link for the led’s, just put them in!

Don’t know if it would cover the cost of each tune, but I’m sure it would put you even further in the “map” 😎

Thanks for this video. I feel that those of us that wound up getting '22's even though we ordered in '21's got a little ripped off on the little things like that. In any case, like some of the people below said Amazon said the bulbs don't fit. I've also found Amazon is not necessarily the most accurate when it comes to fitment. I purchased the Alla Lighting Newest 194 LED Bulbs. Hopefully they'll work out well. Great video as always!

These bulbs are used extensively in RVs for both running lights and interior lights (at least in older RVs). I replaced all of mine with LEDs and in the progress had to replace many melted sockets.
Yup they burn very hot. I think if we waited longer for this mod that I may have had to replace the whole harness and possibly even the wiring. I’m Fortunately we caught it so fast. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Man you aren't lying, those old bulbs are tough to get out of there. I ended up breaking one of mine. Pro tip: Looks like these slots on the side of the bulb housing may be specifically for extracting that old bulb. I finally got my Lariat PowerBoost by the way, and it’s incredibly awesome! I just replaced these bulbs, I was struggling prying off the whole part, I found it easier to get my hand underneath the bumper and twist out the bulb socket similar to how you change old-school headlight bulbs. LEDs look much better!

You can add the box lighting. It’s just a matter of order ring the switch and lights.

My lariat comes with all led lamps. You need to put the chrome f150 on your tailgate.
