I ran into a problem when checking that SKSE would run for the first time, I got asked to download the creation content, like all of it back, but I used the mod Anniversary Edition Content Picker. I wonder if that is normal?
For people with version 1170 or higher and the skse loader isnt working, you need the mod SSE Engine Fixes(part 1) from nexus mods then you have to install part 2 manually, extract it, then add all files into the same place you added the skse files :)
Is this so I can launch skse on MO2 and have my saves appear, instead of it saying 'new game'? I've been trying to figure out why launching skse from MO2 doesn't show my current character save, for the longest time.

its all about the time that u have and if ur willing to follow countless of installation guides for all kind of mods really, you can also revert to older version of skyrim which I recommend. Personally I never had any success with installing modlist via vortex same goes for Fallout 4, so I'd stick to MO2.

Yeah, the rumours appear to be true in regard to SKSE being broken in STEAM version. I think that's why the patch update doesn't mention STEAM version. But isn't that normal whenever Bethesda update patches for their Games that SKSE gets broken. SKSE devs work extremely hard to update SKSE.
Hi this is very helpful for someone brand new at Skyrim & wanting to start modding. QUESTION: how can I load a current save file (like, vanilla save before I downloaded MO2 and everything) when I run SKSE rather than starting a new save? Edit: Solution was under profiles, uncheck “use profile specific save games”

Why on earth would skse launch skyrim too large for my screen? I tried a simple fix by adjusting to 100% in display settings, but that did not solve the issue. When I launch from steam, the resolution is fine.
I found a video that suggested unchecking user profile-specific game ini files. And this actually fixed the issue. However, I don't know what other problems this could cause down the line.
i got the normal steam edition, i think its updated to 1.9.32 etcetc, I have all DLC but i dont have a SkyrimSE.exe file :/ its either SkyrimLauncher or TESV ._. i tried renaming those but then SKSE said i had the wrong version...i was using the Anniversary Edition, maybe i need another one? i used SKSE years ago on an old computer, so i know it should work on my version...but i am lost :/

just tried this method and the game instantly closed on opening it im using 1.5.97 after using the downgrade patcher and i downloaded skse for 1.5.97 so it should be working but its just not EDIT: think it might be the downgrade patcher screwing me over, gunna keep trying, ill keep ya updated
thought id finally update LOL turns out you can download the 1.5.97 version before the anniversary update and that sucky mod menu they try to get you to use without even using the downgrade patcher, works muh smoother if anybody wants the codes i can add them in a comment with the method
Do these mods and install method work for Skyrim VR as well? If so would I just need to swap the Skyrim VR folder out for the Skyrim SE folder in the steps you provided (phenomenal job with this video btw!)?
I have followed this to the T and when I hit run nothing happens. The screen goes black for half a second then nothing just back to MO2! I do not recall the previous video using the words "generate config files" and I dont know what that means.
At the point where I ran Skyrim through running SKSE in MO2, Skyrim opened and prompted me to download all of the AE mods again, which I did, not being able to click out of that window. Dumb mistake, looks like. Now in MO2, I'm showing a red X next to Anniversary Edition Content Picker, and an Overwrite warning, which do not show up on your screen, so I'm assuming the download has done something to my setup that shouldn't be there. How do I fix this?
Looking around, I found an overwrite folder in my MO2 Instances folder with what look like all the files. Might those be the files causing the error, and deleting them would fix it?
I have the same problem. I bought the annyversary upgrade on steam for my special edition, launched the game, downloaded the prompted AE content, closed the game then did the content picker steps. But when I launched it again through skse in mo2 it forced me to download the content again. I assume it's because I handselected just a few creations content instead of everything by content picker and the game thinks I'm missing files.

I was finally able to install skse64, now my game wont launch at all. I'm using Vortex, and was able to have that run as primary. Any help would be appreciated.
When i try to launch it on vortex it gives a promp that it failed to run tool i followed the instructions multiple times and reinstalled the game and it kept giving me the same error.

I used vortex the nexus mod manager for everything it was super difficult and now I don’t even know how it works but I have to start the game from within vortex running skse as an application of sorts???? Only when I load Skyrim like this will it work I can’t load Skyrim through steam

Didn’t break anything-mildly annoying-but I’ve moved my initial Gaming file from my desktop to another location on my PC for better organization. Mod Organizer 2 can no longer jumpstart steam from the loader, I have to open Steam up separately through a shortcut I made moments before. Everything still works perfectly, but what do I need to do should MO2 not being able to find the steam.exe app become a problem in the future?
Hey could you explain what you by "the files will merge" when transferring the SKSE files over to the game directory because I have no option to "merge" anything. If you mean that DATA files will need to be replaced and and the other 2 will be place in the folder G.D. then maybe thats why my peepee is in a toaster right now.
Your videos are excellent quality, among the best I have seen. I am new to modding, and have carefully followed instructions, but cannot get GOG Skyrim AE to work. Here's what I have done: Installed Skyrim AE. Started game to confirm it worked and saved after opening scene Installed Mod Organizer 2 Installed SKSE for GOG Installed SkyUI_5_2_SE-12604-5-2SE Installed unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch using MO2 Installed unofficial Skyrim Creation Club Content Patches using MO2 Rebooted and loaded saved game with launch from MO2 Skyrim started, but my character was frozen in place. I found a thread which said to replace game_skyrimse.dll with a new file that allows GOG and MO2 to work together. Downloaded the new file and replaced the old .dll Now MO2 is frozen with error message: Cannot open instance Skyrim Special Edition - the game plugin doesn’t exist Your help would be greatly appreciated!
I'd suggest starting this series from the beginning in that case as there's alot of areas that you'll need to be aware of if you're entirely new to modding. Easiest way is to go from the first episode. 7z are 7zip files and require 7zip. This is covered in the series :)
1:30 "Thanks Bethesda for overcomplicating that one" Actually, that one's not on Bethesda, but the modding community. To my knowledge, Bethesda themselves have never referred to Skyrim 1.6+ as Anniversary Edition, it's entirely on the community for deciding to call it that. I think it spawned out of confusion around that update in general, and by the time the distinction was made clearer, the term had already stuck and it was too late to call it something different.

@@ADHDecent thanks. It crashed again. Launching nemesis, I clicked on 'unlock' when it told me MO2 is locked when steam is launched. Now if I click on MO2, it says the file.exe has been moved or does not exist anymore. I think I give up on this modding thing :(
Well, it keeps changing XD because of the updates that keep happening I have to recheck the next steps and then rewrite where it feels natural for an episode to end. Which I must admit wasn’t the plan at first but so far I’m managing! So there’ll be a few to come yet aha
A good question. Depending on how the update has impacted mods it might change so at this point I’m unsure I just have a checklist of what to cover then ill split it up where it feels natural for modders to take a break :-)

Hey guys, if you're using the 1.6.1170 version of the files, you need to add ALL of the files to your directory file. Not just the DLL and EXE.

They're new version which is the skse64 (1170) and when i move the file into the main one the loader lost its "exe" and won't launch ,dyk why?

MO2 -> Tools -> Tool Plugins -> INI Editor -> skyrimprefs.ini -> change Size H&W to Screen Resolution

im doing everything correct but after i open the game and press continue or new game , im stuck in an endless loading screen. what can be the issue??

SKSE doesn't think, it knows. You need to use Version numbers not the terms "Special" and "Anniversary" - this is explained in the video

deleting the files in the overwrite folder and reinstalling content picker solved my problem

Hi, how do I make sure vortex detects the right copy of SKSE? I did the first half of the video, up until 2:30, but I don’t use mod organizer 2
You really shouldn't have been using this video for Vortex. There are great tutorials that go in depth about how to use Vortex to install SKSE

I had trouble loading from SKSE .. Do you also need to add bink2w64.dll to the game dir ?

You will need the latest game version number but you do not need the AE DLC. So, if you have SE updated to 1.6.1170 you will be fine.

Every time I run the skse from mod org the game pops up for a second then goes away. The other options work but not skse

1:30 "Thanks Bethesda for overcomplicating that one" Actually, that one's not on Bethesda, but the modding community. To my knowledge, Bethesda themselves have never referred to Skyrim 1.6+ as Anniversary Edition, it's entirely on the community for deciding to call it that. I think it spawned out of confusion around that update in general, and by the time the distinction was made clearer, the term had already stuck and it was too late to call it something different.

I’m glad I could help! You’ve got this! Take it easy at your own pace and before you know it it will come naturally :-) don’t worry about having SE. The only difference is the content picker which you can just skip :-) the rest is the same

@@ADHDecent thanks. It crashed again. Launching nemesis, I clicked on 'unlock' when it told me MO2 is locked when steam is launched.
Now if I click on MO2, it says the file.exe has been moved or does not exist anymore. I think I give up on this modding thing :(

How many parts can we hope to see?
Well, it keeps changing XD because of the updates that keep happening I have to recheck the next steps and then rewrite where it feels natural for an episode to end. Which I must admit wasn’t the plan at first but so far I’m managing! So there’ll be a few to come yet aha

A good question. Depending on how the update has impacted mods it might change so at this point I’m unsure I just have a checklist of what to cover then ill split it up where it feels natural for modders to take a break :-)
