I grew up and lived in California for 30 years. It used to be paradise in the 60’s - 70’s. Glad I packed up & moved in September of 89’
    The state is completely lost!

Yep, minimum wage hikes up to 20 bucks is the fastest way to increase inflation! That's why Pizza Hut fired all 4000 of its delivery drivers in CA the day they raised the minimum wage to $20 and started using doordash, and is why McDonald's is leaving california. They pushed food prices up over the line where they can no longer make a profit and stay in business. It's a cash grab. California instantly gets increased income tax collection on those wage hikes! they want $$$ to put towards to their bottomless pit of debt.
They don't care how many millions of people across the country will lose their jobs as a result of this poor practice, or how much they raise grocery prices which are now at literally 200% of what they were 4 years ago

Yep, Snyder is the one that told us about this. He put on an entire video out on it. Look up McDonald's in his video history. I don't think it's locked in yet. McDonald's is still deciding what to do. But when they have to pay $20 an hour wages, no franchise owner is going to be able to afford doing a $10 Big Mac combo. They will lose money on every order. Wages are just too high. Some fast food restaurants are also considering doing a completely automated restaurant with no people running them because of high labor cost. That's another Snyder report. Lol. Gavin newsom's policies are literally causing massive job loss and increasing unemployment and homelessness. Nobody can afford to hire employees. Its causing massive job loss.

I’m closing in on my retirement and I’d like to move from Minnesota to a warmer climate, but the prices on homes are stupidly ridiculous and Mortgage prices has been skyrocketing on a roll(currently over 7%) do I just invest my spare cash into stock and wait for a housing crash or should I go ahead to buy a home anyways?

    • @eloign7147

If anything, it'll get worse. Very soon, affordable housing will no longer be affordable. So anything anyone want to do, I will advise they do it now because the prices today will look like dips tomorrow. Until the Fed clamps down even further, I think we're going to see hysteria due to rampant inflation. You can't halfway rip the band-aid off.

Considering the present situation, diversifying by shifting investments from real estate to financial markets or gold is recommended, despite potential future home price drops. Given prevailing mortgage rates and economic uncertainty, this move is prudent, particularly due to stricter mortgage regulations. Seeking advice from a knowledgeable independent financial advisor is advisable for those seeking guidance.

My sister lives in California. She is retired. I think it is time for her to pack up and return to Kentucky. I can't afford to eat out now. There isn't any way I could afford to live in California. I think this will put a lot more small businesses (Mom and Pop's) out of business. Daddy always said we were headed for a bigger Depression than the one that he and Mom lived through. We have people who have never worked for a living in their lives. Their attitude is, "You owe me!" Surely I will be dead of old age before this happens.

The problem is not about Fast food worker making almost $8,000 more a year totaling $38,000 a year. After tax that $38,000 is only $29,000. Cost of living is $28,000 in California. Only $1,000 for fun a year and that is not a lot in California. The bottom people need to make more money to survive. The problem is people higher up making $1,000,000,000 or more a year. Like how many pillow do they need, or how many ramen they can eat. Don't know what anyone think about what money really is but I think Money should be a form of number of value of I owe you. So for economy to run money should be flowing of trade goods and services and not all that value just stay at the top and not spend. It's like there are $1,000,000,000 of our I owe you to the top rich people lol like what?

To keep up with the cost of living, stop raising minimum wage. Force share holders and corporate execs to take a lower profit margin. Notice what was said..."maintain the SAME profit margin. That's the true problem. Everytime minimum wage goes up, businesses raise prices so that corporate execs, business owners, and share holders keep their current or make higher profits. Cut the greed, cut inflation part of the problem solved, your welcome. ✌️

Oh my, I always knew California is out trendsetter since the 1930's. I live in Utah and it's well becoming like California except taxes are half that of Commiefornia. Our work culture and business climate is so hostile and awful. I can't secure and hold a stable career job despite studying a really hard business degree. I was a pitiful tax examiner for the IRS a couple years at home destroying individual investors and small business just by running a crazy complicated program written by economists from the City of London for a very low professional job salary of $43,000 a year in this 6 and 7 figure economy full of EV's and half a million dollar starter houses. I too wanted to buy myself a single green acre, yes, it exists in Utah and the dry Western states, but is impossible to finance and close on a an acre selling for $700k on up that doesn't even have a home nor infrastructure. I became angry and lost my job talking about it with the bosses seeking advice on how to get an acre to have a garden, fish pond, and a place that is my home. They ran me off in humiliation, but were 6 figure income career managers and such. They said as good as I was at math and systems, I should have got an analyst job at $80,000 a year. Wasn't even possible. America is the beast system grand deception of the world. It's a special global economic zone and corporation instead of our country. I wish every day there was another country I could move off too as immigrant or just a retirement business visa, but I don't the money to bank nor the minimum required incomes. It's bad in the 2020's for lots of people with all this inflation and war stuff going off. Most people are not being paid more money to take care of the cost of living crisis imposed on us. Nightmare to be honest...

17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!
19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

The cost of living crisis in California is directly linked to the minimum wage increase for fast food establishments. And now many people are getting laid off, because these franchisees can't afford to pay their employees. This is leading to massive price hikes for the consumers, and yet they wonder why people aren't spending money nowadays. We can barely afford to buy groceries, let alone pay $100 bucks for a meal for your family at a fast food chain.
