    People don’t realize that If you carry a balance on a credit card the interest you pay obviously is for the entire purchase but it also includes the sales tax. So essentially you are paying interest on a tax !!! That’s insane.

    • @vickieclark5931
      @vickieclark5931 26 днів тому +1

      Yeah, that's why having credit card debt is so dumb. You're paying interest on the purchase, and tax, and on the interest from the past months. It's never ending. Those balances go up very quickly when you don't pay those cards down.

    I am so grateful that I had my credits cards because I had almost $1,000 light bill that cover that amount. Got one paid off and working the one. but now my hot water heater is broken. I am on SS I never got any free money from the gov. during the past 3 years. I thank GOD I have stayed with my head above water. Remember the days before credit cards took over. If you didn't have the cash to buy a big ticket item like home appliances or furniture then you setup a "installment payment" plan directly with the store. You bypassed putting things on a credit card or getting a loan from a bank. Also department stores back then had layaway plans. I remember my parents buying things this way back in the late 50's and through out the 60's. Consumer credit cards started taking over in the 70's and that's when things started going to hell with the economy.

    I sorely abused credit cards in my lat teens and early 20s. For the past decade, as a 50-year-old man now, I can confidently say that credit cards are good only if you have some money to begin with. Now I make money off my credit cards, and carry nine of them to max out returns from various expenses. I just started really getting into tracking things this year, but up until now it's just been great to pay a portion of our cards back with cash back. Unless it's life or death, I will never carry a balance on a credit card!
