I personally do not find the per serving costs to be helpful by themselves. I'd be a happy lad if you could, in addition to the per serving cost, include how much do the ingredients cost to make one video, and maybe what's left over after doing all these recipes. I may be asking for a lot, but I've rarely seen anyone does this. Delicious-looking meals regardless!
I agree with you. It’s so much more helpful for me because bloggers will say that an ingredient only costs a half a dollar for a recipe....but then the whole bottle costs like ten dollars.
thanks for the suggestion! I've done videos where I make meal preps for $20 where I basically buy all the ingredients with the $20 and make a week's worth of food~ I've also done videos where I made dinner for 4 for $20 or something like that - I can definitely do something similar again~ I think it can be a little tricky because many ingredients that one would need for recipes - one might already have in the kitchen already :)
Yin thanks 🙏 for the feedback I will in the next videos! Looking forward to hearing from u again! ❤️❤️❤️
@@CheapLazyVegan maybe add the shopping list downstairs, leaving out the salt, pepper etc, 'cause you can buy those in the dollar store, just what you bought for the recipe.
i've seen this before. maybe it was caitling shoemaker?
Thank you God for giving us plants to eat.
Her “ok” is everything 🤣❤️
bahahaha XD
It's part of what made me subscribe. Her own unique vibe.
@L STEIN I agree. Every once in a while I think it sounds cute but sometimes she does it too much... Any verbal crutch can get annoying
@L STEIN I agree I literally click off the video every time she gets to the 5th one lmaooo
Also if you leave some green parts, the roots and bulb of green onions you can put them in a cup of water and they’ll quickly regrow! You really don’t have to keep buying them over and over 💜
It's really that simple?
homemade salsa is amazing and cheap too! here’s my recipe:
two cans Rotel
one can of stewed tomatoes
half white onion
jalapeño or serrano (seeded if you don’t like spice)
few cloves of fresh garlic
Cilantro to taste
salt to taste
Blend (or finely chop everything!)
refrigerate for at least an hour.
literally so good and easy to customize to your taste :)
the salt cost 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 everything is truly accounted
I prepare burritos often, and a little salsa addition is actually great to keep it from drying out while in the freezer.
Also! You can freeze multiple in a large ziploc rather than individually wrapping them with foil. I re-use the ziploc bag too for extra environmental friendliness. :)
Thumbs up for re-using freezer bags! 😃
Good idea to store multiple servings in one container but using a reusable hard container would be even better than a baggie.
I do this too! 😄
I absolutely love this luv
You can blend potatoes and soup liquid to make the chowder more chowder-y
You could use paper wraps rather than aluminum foil:) better for the environment♡
And your health. Avoid aluminum!
thank you ! Definitely will get that next time : )
Aluminium isn’t unhealthy. That’s wrong.
Wax paper would work but it might get freezer burn
@@atzimtzum are you a doctor? You afraid to have only healthy people around you, loose your money huh?
The poor man’s chowder is the bomb ! So much flavor and so easy! I ate the whole pot! Yum! Thank you! You rock!
Just made this today, me and my non vegan roommate liked it, I'll add less water next time
what kind of milk do you use? I normally drink almond but idk if that'll be strong.
@@ashleyyy4182 almond no sugar added
I subbed around 4 years ago when I was still a student because of this type of videos! These are my favourites! Thank you!

Thank you for sharing this budget friendly recipe. Budgeting better with my groceries has been heavy on my mind with all the rising prices. This kind of video is so helpful for me and I am sure many others right now. I try to budget best I can but I know I can always learn more. I make cooking videos too so you know I’m making lots of food so every penny I can save on groceries counts. I hope that we can continue to learn from each other. Never stop learning and growing!

Thanks so much for this video! I am on a tight budget. I have been making a running list of affordable recipes. I am going to add the burrito recipe to my list! Mmmmmmm! Thanks again!
Hi Rose! Love the channel... not Vegan (yet!) but learning to eat more veggies! I would love to see a PRINTABLE grocery haul with a meal plan... breakfasts, lunches (leftovers) and dinners for 4-5 days, 1 person. It would be so helpful to have a go to list while I'm learning! Thanks for reading!
Great recipes! And your knife skills are on point!
This channel is great 😊 just found it and I've been vegan for 4yrs but struggle with recipes and money sometimes so chuffed to see all this..yeah!!👍👍
Much Love,Rose
Stay Vegan,love the hair.
thanks so much!!! vegan for life :)
Thank you for your budget friendly meals!
Very good ideas, thank you for posting this.
Thanks dear for this video very helpful
I love ramen, and I love stir fry.. why have I NEVER thought to put these two together? Thank you so much for sharing these recipes.
Love these!
Thank you sharing Rose and yes i enjoyed this video
Trying all of these.
All recipes look great!! My household loves Siracha too!! Your hair looks great btw!!
Looks so delicious and thank you for this!
Love these recipes !
Ah yes even more fantastic eats thanks Rose 🌷 Cheers & happy trails 🌈
These recipes got my mouth watering!
These actually look so good
I use these recipes weekly. I love them so much!!!
Thank you for the cooking tips just to help me save money
Loved the burrito
Great meals! Love it! My only critique is the price points are wildly understated. I also live in Canada so I think It would be helpful to tell us where you’re buying cans of corn and bell peppers for that price?
Love this idea! I am gonna have to try some of these, burrito and chowder for sure, great for work to ;)
I can’t wait to try the chowder
All looks delish! May I ask what brand pans are you using? And do you like them for non-stick?
Awesome video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thank You soooo very much 🌱🥳🌱🥳🌱
That is $1.41 in Canadian so basically nothing in American 😂
sad but true....LOL
I suppose it depends on where you live because I don't know anywhere here in Los Angeles where I could find a .09 carrot or a .25 can of chick peas... (about .25 and $1.. at best, respectively) Not saying these recipes aren't cheap, just saying.... it's expensive in LA I guess.
I was thinking the same. Here in Washington. Red, orange and yellow bell peppers go for $1.50ea and every once in awhile $1.
I live in cànada also and those prices per serving are back in the '60s,. Lol. You couldn't but a can of corn for 25. Cents.
@Jennifer S Naw, you’re right. In Connecticut a can of beans is $1. I’d say for all those prices multiply by 4. At least. Because those were Canadian dollars too! There’s no way!!
They look so good 🥰
Yay cheap, easy vegan recipes! :D I haven't had chowder in so long--I'll probably try that soon. Thanks, Rose!
I like the stir fry ramen idea. I normally have ramen on hand and would love different ways to prepare it. I would probably use beans instead of tofu, since I usually also have some canned black beans available as well. And if not canned I have some dried that I can use the leftovers of if I had some already prepared.
New subscribed here! Loved the video, thanks for the inspo ❤️❤️❤️
Wonderful ideas my dear, I have been looking for some good vegan meals and so affordable! Blessings and FULL WATCH! 🙏💖
I made the burritos and they were great! Making the chowder right now
Awesome meals
The poor mans chowder is my favorite!! I love it! I cook the onions and mushroom first. Then I add some (not a lot)water and add the corn and carrots! I let it sit then add the milk (one cup and little more) and the flour (I used coconut)! After I added the chickpeas and potatoes and let it sit. (I used garlic powder, thyme and salt) I didnt use the vegetable stock because I like cooking the old fashion way for some reason:)
ive literally been making these burritos every week im addicted
These dishes look very good
that chowder looks friggin awesome
Love you!
I’m new to vegan & don’t like spending too much time in the kitchen. You’re my Favorite ❤️
Maybe you could do a video where you tell about some of the basic items a person should get in their kitchen that they will use in a lot of recipes such as tahini, soy sauce, honey... And those other kind of ingredients that cost a bit of money. I've heard you mention several things in recipes and I am not familiar with these things. You could show the item until what all it's used for. You probably have plenty of items in your own kitchen that you could use in the video.
I love these recipes so much they all look DELICIOUS! But Rose the next time you make one of these please do not put a loud bell sound with each ingredient added 😂
noted!
I liked the bell sound😄
@@debbiedobson9931 I like the bell sound too! :)
one of my rescue dogs has ptsd from a previous life smoke detector incident and those bell dings of yours triggered him something shocking Rose! he looked horrified at the first one, then the next few came in such quick succession, i didnt hit the volume quick enough! Poor bubba freaked out and raced down the hall into the bedroom and under the bed. had to lay under there with him singing his favourite song to him for half an hour till he would come back out. i ended up watching your whole video on mute Rose. so sadly, i missed out on your usual hundred "okay"s. and theyre my favourite bit. wahhhhhh
@@CastledarkDweller27 aww, poor baby! Our dogs and cat are part of our family ❤️
I just made this soup recipe for lunch and it was delicious. I also added some turmeric because I like it to be yellow coloured. I am not sure what you would think of this as Korean but I added some Kimchi to the top along with some fresh herbs.
And if the veggies come from your own (or a good friend's) garden, even Cheaper!!!
Rose you save my life!!!!!!! I'm here to watch this video while cooking for the 10th time 😸💞🤘
I definitely want to try the onions and peppers and the rice for sure
Watched this morning and I’m making the chowder for lunch as I type this
Rose, you should film weekly Vlogs, I'll love to watch them, much love from Miami 😘
I wish bell peppers were that cheap.... bell peppers in the California Bay Area are ~$1 to $1.50
US Dollar Conversions:
Burrito: $1.08 / serving
Poor Man's Soup: $1.44 / serving
Stir Fry: $1.14 / serving
I love the budget-friendly recipes. Not just because they are cheap, but also they tend to be pretty easy.
I got kimchi to try for the first time today. Haven't given it a go yet. Also made a veggie lentil soup 🤤 it's almost lunch time!
Onion half
Bell peppers full
Fry with a lil salt
Oil
Cooked brown rice
Can of Braown beans
Onion powder
Gralic powder
Parika
Chili powder
Cumin
Salt and pepper
Salsa
Tortilla wrap
Broccli
Instant noodle And broccoli boil (a minute less)
Half season and soy sauce and a table spoon of water
Stir fril onion, and garlic brocli and ramen
Put on sirancha sauce
Where did you get your wok, I love it !
I like the word chowder too. ☺️
I am so glad you have this channel! My son wants to be vegan but I really can't afford it so he agreed to do vegetarian. Your channel helps me do vegan! Thank you!
Great vid ❤❤
Finally a video I can relate. Got tired of watching the online buying videos because not everyone can do that.
can confirm the chowder is delicious.
love it. Keep it up with the budget friendly videos. made your soba noodle recipe for the week
I think food in the US must cost 3 times as much as food in Canada.
I love your hair, what dye do you use? Trying to widen my pool of vegan dyes!
19 cents for a bell pepper? I know we have different currency but girl, bell peppers are like $1.50 each here in California 😭 I'm so jealous
It’s per serving not per entire pepper
She is dividing. So she may have paid 80 cents for it but she used a fifth so she divided it.
PS guys I understood it's per serving but 80 cents is still way cheaper than any bell pepper I've seen here hahaha
Chowder defined- A rich soup typicaly containing fish, clams, or CORN, along with onions & potatos. Just loved these! BTW reheat that foil wraped burro in a dry covered fry pan or toaster oven for about 5 minutes per side & it'll be worth the wait, just poke a few holes to let steam escape. Can you make Chana Wat? Please & Thank You.
Great!
I wish I could buy a can of beans for $0.25 and an onion for $0.30 and a bell pepper for $0.28. An onion cost me over $2, and a pepper (if not on sale) is over $3. A can of beans is definitely over $1, sometimes almost $2.
I am out east and I didn’t realize food was so inexpensive in Calgary.
It was $0.25 per serving, and there were 4 servings so it was $1 for a can of beans, $1.20 for an onion, $1.12 for a pepper. Still slightly cheaper than what you have available but not as drastic.
@@haleyshepherd2789 Thanks. I was about to say the same thing.
it's per serving! haha
Oh yeah, I’m a dingus! Hahaha.
love!
