Nice bit of reversing and Picture in Picture going on there.
Cheers Bob, all that time driving Class 1 trucks payed off! Just started using Final Cut Pro so playing around with it. Thanks for comments and watching. Martin 👍
Loved the bingo bit!
cheers, can’t beat a bit of bingo 🤔 Thanks for watching 👍
Good start to the season Martin, not warm enough for the budgie smugglers then. We have a 7 year old daughter and she loves the 2 penny slots as well. Look forward to the next one.
The weather was on our side but the budgie smugglers weren’t!! Got to do the 2p slots! Thanks for watching, Martin 👍
Yep just done our first weekend. Just on the local site where we store it but still nice to be back in the 'van. Well except that the fridge is playing up so another job to do!
Hi Andy, it’s good just to get the van tested for a weekend before a big trip, hope you get your fridge sorted. Thanks for watching, Martin
Great video Martin, I love Blackpool. Does sound pricey but I think a lot of new sites seem to be going for fully serviced big pitches and hiking the price up. Thanks for sharing Graham
Cheers Graham, Blackpool was busy considering the time of year. Site is great but price isn’t, like you say most sites with fully serviced are creeping it up! Thanks for watching, Martin 👍
Great to be out and about again Martin. It’s hard work in the early season but good you had a fully serviced pitch. Grass definitely NOT an option just yet. These new sites are taking the top end money although this seems to be filtering down to the CLs now at £15 a night being the norm. Let the 2019 season begin ! Rock on Caravan Nut 👍🏻😄 Trev
Hi Trev, we had the weather on our side. Felt like we had a weekend off for a change. Site prices are creeping up but will bight the bullet. Looking forward to our next trip soon, thanks for support as always, Martin 👍
Hi Martin & Angela I agree that site is a bit pricey .Roast dinner looked delicious 😋 were off out next week in our van first time this year 👍
Hi Liz, can’t beat a good roast. It’s great to be back out in the van. Enjoy your first trip of the year, hope the weather stays fine. Thanks for watching 👍
First Trip whoo hoo great feeling when the season starts and some good old fashioned fun going on.
Hi Colin, yes great to be back out in the van, not long to go before our Edinburgh trip, can’t wait. Got to do the 2p slots!! Thanks for comments and watching, Martin 👍
Nice trip Martin.
Thanks for watching 👍
It is expensive Martin very good directions to the park.
Think it's like any newish caravan park opening there always over priced just like Love to Stay very expensive wouldn't mind paying if they have a indoor swimming pool but it all outside and you have to swim with the ducks .
Great site but pricey, I’ve looked a Love to Stay but ruled that one out due to the price, Caravanning is not cheap to start with! Thanks for watching, Martin
Great video, looks like you guys had a good weekend! The concentration on Lostweekends faces is very funny. Nice bit of reversing too, thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Aaron & Vicky, we had a great weekend thanks, shame about the company! 😂😂😂 Thanks for watching 👍
Great vlog, had a look at Pipers heights myself. but because of the price we never booked. Will say, "it does look a nice site".
Hi, thanks for watching. Yes it’s a great site but the price will put me off future visits. Cheers Martin 👍
Hi guys. Looks nice place were down once a year so might try it depending on price as you say. U guys look like u had fun. Cheers rob
Hi Rob, yes a great first outing of the year, great site but price not to my liking. Thanks for watching, Martin 👍
looks like a very nice site when we go to Blackpool we go to Blackpool South it is a small site no club but good value and friendly staff btw great videos very helpful to us novices keep up the great work
Hi John, We have been to Blackpool south and I prefer it to this site. Pipers Height was ok but not a site we would return to, too expensive for me. Thanks for the feedback and watching, Martin 🙂
Great vid, i was there this year in august for a week. I thought price was not to bad for the site, very nice clean site. We got the resort passes for attractions around blackpool which saved loads. Keep up the great vids 👍🏻
It’s a nice site with great facilities but we thought it was slightly expensive for the area. We will probably visit again at some point.
Thanks for watching 😊
Cheers Martin... nice site. Not thought of trying that one as we always when in Blackpool we use the CAMC South Site. One for us to look at in the future.
It’s a nice site, will probably visit again despite the cost! Thanks for comments and watching, Martin 👍
Cheers Martin our secret is out , we are closet Bingo players. We do like the site. People can get it cheaper if a Loyalty member and there are mid week specials as well. Thanks again for a brilliant night out P&J
Hi Phil, thanks for introducing us to Pipers Height. I’ve no doubt we will return at some point. Cheers Martin 👍
Nice video that, it's one of the places that we have been looking at going to this year but like you say it is a bit pricey but I think all sites are going like this and it's all down to the TV programs like 5 go camping & celebs in a caravan as it's made the British public look different when it comes to the new style of caravaning and the leisure industry so the sites will jump onto this it's a shame really. We really like your vlogs keep up the good work👍🏻 just wish I had more time when doing them.
Hi Steve, it is a good site, I’m sure we will return one day. As for site prices, like you say caravanning is becoming more & more popular. The idea of going away and taking this box on wheels with all your homely comforts and modern gadgets is very appealing. Good for UK tourism but price hikes are inevitable. Thanks for the feedback and watching, Martin 👍
Good vlog yet again ..... we’re going to go there also but agree without a deal 70quid for a weekend is steep
Hi Andrew, it’s a great site, toilet block is spotless but would need to be for £70! Thanks for comments and watching, Martin 👍
Lovely video Martin..thsnk you..We bought a second hand Unicorn Valencia this week... having owned a 2002 clubman...our first fixed bed.. whoopy do... luxury for us..1493 mtplm hoping the Kuga pulls ok..the bailey book tells me 100kg!. Nose weight..It was 55kg on the lunar...
Thanks, a great van you have there. I’m guessing from the MTPLM it’s a Unicorn 2 or 3 series? The Kuga will tow that with ease, I tow with noseweight between 90-95kg & MTPLM of 1565kg, the Kuga’s nose limit is 105kg. Enjoy when you get it, cheers Martin 👍
That's really is assuring to hear. I'm itching to go away of course, I still need to sell my lovely old one, I've two vans in storage just now!.. We spent all day yesterday moving the bits over and cleaning it out. The new van is still on Auto trader..search DY7 it's very stressful changing vans...the Alde HTF pink fluid is being replaced next week, cost of £90.00 which I think is reasonable, the gentleman is Alde qualified to..
Thanks for to nose weight advice I will do that mate..
Best Wishes
James
Hi James, changing vans over takes ages and you also realise how much stuff you have! Will try look the van up later. That Alde heating fluid change is a good price. Exciting times 👍
Nice video Martin. Looks a decent site, but seventy odd quid for two nights? You need to be winning at bingo at those prices. Good camera trickery to hide the bingo tickets YOU were playing lol ;))
Hi Stew, Yes a very nice site but not a nice price! No camera trickery, bingo is too complicated for me 😂 cheers, Martin
Christ, that place has changed. We used that place several times when my son was little. It was always quite cheap and the staff / owners really helpful. We actually looked at going back about a year ago, but decided that it was just too expensive for what it is. Shame, cos it does look a lovely site. Still, they have to pay for the improvements and upgrade somehow.
Hi Simon, yes it was a nice site but for us too expensive. You can get loyalty discounts but it’s not somewhere we would return to often. We stayed at a great CL 3 miles away, fully serviced £17 a night. No bar but we don’t normally go in them.
Thanks for watching, Martin 😊
Looks a nice site but I totally agree with you at those prices it far too expensive.
There is a loyalty scheme, cheaper more times you go, but not sure we would visit often enough. Thanks for comments and watching 👍
Nice one Martin looks like you had some good weather. I could hear all the Yorkshireman shouting their battle cry when you told us the prices (HOW MUCH) lol didn’t see the donkeys.
And I don’t agree with Bob Earnshaw the reversing wasn’t good you had a large pitch and you had to have a shunt you used to be a class 1 driver should have gone in in 1. 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
Hi Trevor, great site but pricey. As for the reversing.....I will book in for more lessons 😂🤔🤔 thanks for comments and watching 👍
Nice one Martin glad u had a nice time there and nice to c Phil and juliet aswell I haven't been up north for around 28 years I seem to go south all the time probably because living in Birmingham plus lov devon and Cornwall roll on first bank hoilday can't wait been a long winter cheers .kev
Hi Kev, hopefully not long until your first trip out. It’s great to be back in the van. Thanks for watching 👍
I like Pipers height, been a few times, if you stayed there 3 times then you become a loyalty member and get discount. Did you visit the pied piper club house?
Hi Ben, yes Phil told me about the possibility of a discount but it’s not a area we visit often. We went to the club house, nice friendly bar. Thanks for comments and watching 👍
Good video there enjoyed it. Did you say you pull up the Alko stabiliser when reversing the van? I wondered if that made it easier to reverse as never done that myself. Well to be honest I often just use mover to make life a bit easier.
Thanks, yes I always take the stabiliser off when reversing. I feel it turns easier and and stops excessive wear on the friction pads. I use the motor mover some time but more often than not I will back it on. Thanks for comments and watching, Martin 👍
That carvery? Was it at ‘waters edge’ in St Anne’s? It looked familiar & it’s just round the corner from our house 😁.
Hi, the carvery was Plum tree farm near the site, it was near an industrial estate. 🙂
Great video. Never thought of releasing the stabiliser before reversing. Does it really help?
Hi Steve, I’ve always taken the stabiliser off when reversing, in my opinion it turns easier and will prolong the life of the friction pads. Thanks for comments and watching 👍
I'll give it a try next time, thanks for the tip and advice.
No worries, let me know what you think 👍
We went to Pipers Height back in the early 2000s so defo not a new site, although it may have been refurbished extensively and/or taken over since then.
The touring area we were on is fairly new and has been redeveloped. Not a bad site but pricey.
Right good video there Martin.. we were in Blackpool last weekend too on our first trip out of the year, well more Freckleton - We stayed at a new site, Donkey Creek Farm, www.donkeycreekfarm.co.uk/- can recommend it - only opened last year and not too far to travel from Manc. Discounts too. Keep up the good work Martin- soon be school holidays ...AGAIN !
Hi Howard, thanks for the feedback, will have a look at that site. It’s difficult to find one that’s not too far away and meets your requirements. Looking forward to our next trip 👍 thanks for comments and watching, Martin
@@TheCaravanNut yes -we wanted something not too far for first trip and it was mid way between Preston and Blackpool on the Ribble. Fully Serviced good size pitch and awesome fast Wifi - streaming no problem, and even tho it had tv hook up , reception from Winter Hill was excellent . Flat approach roads and tarmac right to your hard standing pitch - right next to Warton airport tho - but only about 2 planes a day
Cheers for that Howard, will definitely have a look at it, sounds great 👍
Nice one Martin! must take a leaf out of your book? go for a few quickie's? You are a Man who tells it like it is! good, taking your int? I tried pipers website, and it said pitches from £26? but I put in 7 or 8 random dates (for 2 night each for 2 adults) throughout the year, April to Oct, cheapest was £30 per night dearest was £84 per night very late in year??? strange?. so won't be going there either! never mind Pitch up got lots more pitches for far less.
Be seeing you!
Hi Bryn, the cost is the only issue for me. Pay premium and you take your own accommodation 😂😂 Thanks for comments and watching, Martin 👍
