I’ve been following you and the flying cowboy s for years . The combination of everyone s inspirational videos at age 57. I bought a jabiru flew it back from Northern California to Ohio . I can’t get enough aviation now . I picked up a 1947 luscombe just old school cool .. keep making great videos.. many thanks for kick starting my dream . I now work on aircraft to support my love of flying :)-
@B Tenold thanks what part of the country are you in. I’m doing annual s for Hang glide Chicago about an hour south of . A dragonfly and 3 kolb tug planes this week . What a adventure the last couple of years .
great to see you're doing another round the world flight. Will you be filming it? I enjoyed funforlouis vlogs doing the first round the world trip with you, but would love a more pilots perspective of it, idk about everyone else but if you are filming it feel free to get super nerdy about it, I'm curious what's involved in a trip like this, the planning that has to go into it.
What an epic journey with the coolest people and great equipment!! Such great fun following this and on the edge of the chair for the notifications!! Have fun and live the adventure mate!! AWESOME!!!
I agree, this site has substance, and we already know you can fly. So it is much more than that in my opinion. Of course your editing experience from doing it so long is showing through and for us pilots who get hooked on this or that poster, good editing is a big plus, great music choices, etc. so that we actually look forward to the next post, and experience the adventure.
C’mon man that was fun- JP you all grown up . Been watching you since the beginning- Can’t wait for this new adventure. May you be safe and continue to have the time of your life .
This is epic JP, so great to see Sling AC be very much a part of your adventure and plane build. Looking forward to the next episode and jumping from your plane :)
I discovered you and your channel by following the sling aircraft's channel and the adventure of 3 sling HW from Joburg to Oshkosh. Defiitively inspiring, the best avaitaion's adventure channel. My dream is to build the same aircraft...maybe one day. Continue to inspire us
Great video JP! Awesome fotage and editing! Love that way you show the whole adventure, the build, the flying and the fun! Sling HW looks just awesome!
Take your time building your PLane ,even if it takes over 3 months, do it once do it right,,Anodizing is a good iddea ,also consider Zinchromate, wear some glovex this reduce the level of amonia and salt transmiter to the metal sheet from sweaty hands and protect your self too
Love the desert myself - grew up in SoCal and enjoyed being out on the Mojave. Looks like a lot of great places in your video to ride my fully-rigid XC MTB…
I'm a bit confused, I thought JP already built his Sling highwing from earlier videos I watched? Building another one now will be fun to watch. Great videos!
So stoked for this man! Can’t wait to see the build come along. Love the desert vibes and good music in this vlog. Hope to see you back in California again soon 🛫 take it easy
Superficially this is an " experience" proof of concept. This teaches buildin with the materials. I trained 172 and would rather have my own plane than rent
I have been looking at the high wing but I don't think I will fit, sitting from the seat base to the top of my head is 37 inches, as most of my height is in my torso leg room usually isn't an issue. Anyways, any chance you will be flying through Georgia US on your flight? Would love to actually sit in one. I know two totally different airplanes my three containers are RV10, high wing, or possibly the bearhawk 5.
@@the_candourist yes the RV10 I would be using a seat with very little foam, and leaning back some. I have a couple friends with RV10s. The bearhawk is huge but I don't have a tail wheel endorsement (not that I couldn't get one) but I don't plan on operating out of unimproved runways either. I've been in the sling low wing and my head touches the roof.
One nice feature about Sling seats is they're reclined and on a sloping track. So, as you slide the seat back for more legroom, the seat also lowers, providing more headroom. It's a brilliant design. There's also an option of an extended seat track for the ultra-tall.
@@OneAlphaMike Yes, unless you have a lot of your height in your torso, and have back seat passengers, then it doesn't line up well. I've been in "mojogrip's" sling and my head is touching the roof, I would would need dingo doors LOL I hope I can catch someone with a high wing to try it on at some point. I fly a cessna 172 with the seat all the way down. The ones with out height adjustable seats I'm almost touching the roof and have to duck down to see the wing tips.
@@Avi8tor857 Getting the extended seat track option means the seat would go even lower than Mike Ojo's. But yes, that would encroach on the legroom of back seat pax. Hopefully the HW will be at Oshkosh and you can check it out there.
I'm confused. Are you building this plane in 3 months? How is that even possible. I have been following Vans builders that have been working years on their airplanes.
I'm no pilot, but I don't think using your own plane to skydive out of is a good idea. That would get rather expensive. Unless you have one of those ones that can autoland.
James is such a cool dude! His attitude and positivity is really inspiring. Been really enjoying keeping up with the adventure!
This is probably the most exciting aviation channel right now. Love from Iceland.

Kuul story.

"Riding with the man who has live the adventure written on his arm" :-)
370 hours on my Sling TSI and I'll be following you and Linda (departing J0-Burg) around the 10th of July for Oshkosh!!!

I just watched your new plane take off! You did it. Congratulations! That was amazing. Have a safe trip to Oshkosh.
Nice cut! You guys are so happy in that plane, a pleasure to follow you on your way.

awseome place you got there with a climbing wall and stuff
Just wanted to say that the editing and storytelling on these are top notch - haven't felt this excited about aviation content in awhile!
Top of my bucket list. I would love to fly around the world. I would do just about anything to do it.
This one seems to set the stage for the epic adventure to come! Great job!👊
Been following you since the last around the world. Great adventures. Looking forward to the future fun.
JP and JP! I'm sooo excited to see both of you together! MAN This is gonna be the best UA-cam aviation year for me!
Another great video! You're travels are much loved XO
Came here for the cycling. Staying for the aviation!
Great video JP! Awesome fotage and editing! Love that way you show the whole adventure, the build, the flying and the fun! Sling HW looks just awesome!
That’s gotta be so satisfying moving through the parts to finished components. Patience to the end. Awesome.
I've been an RV guy for almost 25 years. And this conventional gear Sling is growing on me... (Yeah, I know there's a -15.)
Very nice. That's what I call a relaxt cockpit environment! 👍

James, we need a SLING FEST here in the US.
Awesome video, thank you so much :)
How detailed are the instructions from sling? I consider myself handy but do i need plane building experience?
42, an excellent number if I do say so myself JP!!!! //e
From flying around the world in a C210, now he is going to fly around the world in a Sling, I can't wait for the series!.
Looks like a really cool airplane! Can’t wait to see yours come together👍

A magic aircraft the sling. Kuul video
Veryyyyy good video, well made (as usual, like your other video)
Im getting excited and it's not even my plane 🤣❤️ best aviation youtuber
Watched this while falling asleep. Had horrific flashback dreams of deburring and bucking rivets.
Hope you fly into Ardmore on your around the world tour!
Would be cool taking the sling into the Milford Sound
I'll admit, JP, James and Mike inspired me to get my PPL.
Nice JP!!
A&P's everywhere cringing as they see pop rivets... lots and lots of pop rivets..... anyways loving the build man!
Amazing
Trust I'll get to meet you at the Parys airshow?
What Aircraft are you building?
Land on Guadalcanal Island on the way through the Pacific.
Were you in jberg for the entire 3 months to build or did Sling build most of it?
more than hyped.
Do you have to have a special license or permit or aircraft or anything like to have someone skydive out of your airplane?
Love it 👍
Looks like they have finished all those pieces in chem film gold, is that what it is ?
Hey JP, are you going to take Louie along with you?
That looks a lot like southern Arizona
O shuu, i remember you fm that world trip u did with that hippy dude fm UK 😂😂😂, i thought you were American.... wdf r u doing in Africa ? 😁
Hello JP, just one request….Please Tag me along with you for the world flight!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏😁😁
HIya, how much does it cost to build ? and what kind of knowledge do you need to do this ?
And I just wanted to fly around the pea patch in my arup copy
what is the music in the beginning?

Where are your build vids?
❤❤❤❤❤❤
"That'll be epic to own an airplane I can skydive out of", hmmm... hasn't someone done that already?
WHERE IS LOUIS??? 😊
How does this guy finance all of this...?

"Jeepers JP" is officially replacing "holy crap dude" in my vernacular..
What a dream it must be to fly to Afrika burn
